OMG! Like every single detail of my professional life is online! Some stuff great, but some stuff not so great........:confused:

I guess I should be thankful nothing about my personal life can be found. Could be b/c I don't have one. :p
 
Yes, and I was surprised when I got more than one hit. I started being veeeery careful about my online activities after that.

Yes, and I didn't find it fantastic at all - for me. It actually scared the crap out of me how much info. I could find and it's not just from Facebook and forums . I have been the contact for a few help wanted postings at my company and all that comes up in google. Any psycho could find out my work address, high school, college, etc. without even trying. With trying, the amount of info. out there is staggering. I actually shut down a few accounts after seeing the info. that was coming up - I know I'm paranoid. And I'll never have a blog!
 
I found info about a a couple of jobs I've had, my dad and mom's obits, and a review of a Tom Verlaine show I went to about 10 years ago, which was nice; I'd forgotten about that show. I'm sure there's more if I delved, but I'd rather go listen to Marquee Moon now that Tom is on my mind!!!!

I'm actually a little jealous...;)

My first and last name are so super common that it would take me days to try and figure out which one is actually me!
 
Pippa, I have a pretty common name too--I just included my name & the town where I work. When I did my mortgage I had to certify that I wasn't one of the 27 other Lauras in NJ who were in bankruptcy.

I think having a very common name can be a good thing on this pretty scary information highway. ;)
 
Aside from info on my law firm, and a legal article I wrote, nothing much comes up. And that's only if I add my middle initial. Am I missing something?
 
Yes and I have a very uncommon name but the only things that come up are facebook stuff, my linkedin page (forgot I even signed up for that) and the fact that I won the "Whad'Ya Know" quiz in 1998.

I wonder why neither my Facebook nor my Linked In pages came up?
 
Yes, but there is a semi famous person with my name, so it hits her more than me. She has 16 handicap kids and wrote a book about it, and in the 70's there was a made for TV movie about her.
