HATE - Mar 13

Holy cow you guys are chatty today! I can't stick around, at work & very busy... I will post tonight to everyone if I have time. :)

Dana- You are very welcome about the Powerstrike recommendation!

Robin- The girl that made those tomato things finally e-mailed me this so I wanted to post since you had asked for it.

Baby BLT

INGREDIENTS
•1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
•1/2 cup mayonnaise
•1/4 cup green onions, chopped
•2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
•24 cherry tomatoes

DIRECTIONS
1.Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until evenly brown. Once cooled, crumble and set aside.
2.In a bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, bacon, green onions, and parsley until well blended. Set aside.
3.Cut a small slice from the top of each tomato. Using a melon baller or small spoon, scoop out the inside of each tomato and discard. Fill each tomato with the bacon mixture, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve chilled.

Everyone sorry for not being able to stick around, will BB tonight to hopefully catch up but not sure that'll happen since it is so busy on here today!

HOLY Buckets! You all are very active this a.m. These posts are way too long for my steel-cut oats breakfast...I'll have to catch up later as I've got my attorney meeting in about an hour so I need to hop in the shower and get ready to go for the day. I'll BBL to post what the attorney said. Wish me luck!

Terri

Shelley, I know it was a mammoth post - I don't have anything to do!!! I checked my pm and replied back to you.

Michele - I'm very proud of you for not buying a donut.

I'm bored - urgh!!!

Thank you all for such a friendly welcome!!!:D

I got my bike ride in and was sweating and heading for a shower and then a post workout smoothie when my mom called. (my parents live across the street) They had to take their car in to the shop and are without a car today and needed a ride to Staples and the grocery store!
So I showered at lightening speed and got out of here.
The bad news is I was starving & didn't take time to fix my smoothie, the good news is, I bought new batteries so glo worm (saved from when my kids were little) can light up once more!!!!!! :D :D

Michele, I hope your kitty is okay.

Oh! I had other people I wanted to comment too but I'm going to have to take notes! It'll take me a while to learn everyone's names and then HOW do you remember who said what???
I am perimenopausal and hypothyroid at the same time so bare with me!!! :7

I'm back. Kitty seems a little better. He's been nibbling his food and I'm not sure what to make of it. He usually scarfs it down like he's afraid you're going to take it away from him. I'm just going to watch him for now. My vet is really good about getting me in at the last minute. Of course, I've been bribing them for years with cookies and brownies}( :p :7

Holey something!! I can't get over how chatty everyone is this morning!

SHELLEY!!!!! OMG!!!! What on earth possessed you to tell your SO that you didn't want the bracelet? I think you should tell him you changed your mind and that you'd be over the moon if he bought it for you. You deserve a nice Bday gift. Accept it and then gush all over him:+

I think Miss Sophie would love the Nintendo DS thingie. If you get it you can play with August in her Village.:)

Deb, thank you for the sweet remark about my marriage. Yeah, we get along pretty well for the most part but trust me, we have our "moments". He really drives me crazy sometimes. Do a forum search for Christmas Tree and you'll see what I mean:eek: :7

Arista!!!!! Oh GAWD, I'm too old for this! I'll be on my knees in prayer for you today. I'll want an immediate and FULL report -- tonight! Please don't make us wait, kay? I'll be going crazy to know what he says. And don't spare any details. And I agree with Robin -- he'd be CRAZY to turn you down. You're cute, funny, intelligent -- what more could he want?

Kara, thanks for posting the recipe. That looks so yummy! I can't wait to make it. When does your spring break start? I'll be praying about your tests, papers, and assignments in general:*

Jen, I see you're in full energizer bunny mode -- LMAO! Oh man, I'd kill for 1/2 your energy. That recipe looks sooo good! What's not to love about bacon, mayo, and tomatoes!?

Robin, yes, my mouth feels fine but you can still see areas of inflammation. I'm supposed to do the steroid treatments for 3 weeks;(.

The damily's going to Italy:eek: x( ;( :7. I have an uncle who was killed in WWII and he's buried in an American military cemetery in the Netherlands. A ceremony is planned for Memorial Day weekend and several of my relatives are going to attend, including my sister. After the MD service, everyone is going to Italy for about a week. They haven't firmed up their itinerary, but it includes time in Rome and a day trip to the village where my mom was born. Dave and I will probably join them for the MD service and the day trip, but we intend to go our separate ways from then on. I'll have to tell you about the damily sometime. They're a rowdy bunch:eek:

I'm totally lost here -- LMAO!

Becky, our thread isn't usually this "active" -- lol!

I need to go back and read yesterday's posts again. I'm totally blanking on the whole thing -- LMAO!

>>Welcome to haters' ville Becky! I hate low ends too but . . . I found out that they do build up the stamina when you have to pee in a public restroom and need to do the hover-squat so you don't have to sit on the seat.<<

This is quite possibly one of the funniest comments I've ever seen posted on a forum:7 :7 :7 .

Dana, I'm fine. I woke up in the night with a sinus headache but it's all better now. It's that time of year! Oh boy -- here we go. I can't wait for the grass to grow ;(

the Italy trip is in May. I cannot wait!!

Terri -- KPC and B&G all in one day!? I didn't realize you had masochistic tendencies:p --Good luck at your meeting with the attorney and let us know what happens. I'll pray about it for you.

Mariah, congratulations! My goodness, you've sure had more than your fair share of highs and lows lately, haven't you? Welcome home and I hope you're able to figure out a good rotation.

Corrie, did you have a nice weekend with your DH?

Okay, I'm out of here. I have to take my new jeans to the seamstress. I've made a change in my rotation plans and I'm going with the 16 week max weight loss after all. I have a weight workout on tap for today but I can't remember which one. I'll BBL :*

I LOVE THAT BRACELET!

It's very simple and elegant. Let him get it for you, Shelley. I think men enjoy getting gifts that they know their SO's will love.

I'm going to the seamstress -- AFTER my oral treatment. I totally forgot to put that crap in my mouth this morning. The treatment entails filling a dental tray with a steroid gel and biting down on it. I'm supposed to leave it in place for about 20 minutes. I can't wait until I can stop this. Have y'all noticed that I have bizarre health issues? First it was the eyeball thing and now this. For crying out loud!

Robin, the minivan is a much better plan than taking 2 cars. I hope ya'll have a wonderful trip.

Has your DH started painting yet? Did he find a car?

I know what you mean about keeping up with this thread today. Holey smokes! But I am enjoying reading everyones posts. Y'all are the best medicine for a gloomy day!

Dana, I wish I could get my DH interested in health. That's right, my DH the doctor doesn't take care of himself at all. I would suspect an alien influence if my DH took a sudden interest in eating right and working out -- LMAO!

Hey MSY -- I saw your post in the <--- thread. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for you and I hope your day takes a turn for the better. I haven't had time to post in the <--- thread yet -- I'm too busy trying to stay on top of this one! :D

Diane, I hope you have a better day. I love your little pregnancy tracker. It makes me smile every time I see it:)

Cardio haters, chatting lovers!

Shelley, you need that bracelet. I'd love to hear all the things you DON'T say.

Dana, the whole family is going to Philly for the weekend, sort of as a "spring break" get away. We can't afford to all to to Florida, so Philly is as far south as we'll go this year. We are picking Tristan up in Scranton and taking Greyor, Emily and Jay too. I'm not sure what we'll do there. DH would like to go down to the riverfront and maybe visit the ships. I forget which ones are there. Something historical. We may go to the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, a crazy place with a whaling boat and a vampire killing kit. I'd like to go to the zoo, but I think it's supposed to be cold again over the weekend.

Terri, I hope you get good news from your lawyer.

I'd love to stay and chat some more, but the baby needs attention. Later, maybe.

Holy posts Batman!

This is the most active thread I've ever seen before 9 a.m.!! I guess since most of you are hours ahead of me, that makes some sense, but sheesh!!

Thank you all for your overwhelming support of my mission on this day. I hope I can make you proud. Robin, you're on. If Ryan says no, you can be my pseudo-husband.

Ryan came home late last night after playing poker with his buddies. I had placed 13 red roses on his night stand, so he got one present early. He had just made some money playing poker, so I know he'll wake up in a good mood this morning (bonus).

We've been getting along really well lately too, (another bonus). I thought that I'd get him some presents from our kids (2 dogs, 2 cats). So Obsidian the black lab mix got him a new frisbee (that'll make him laugh, since she's practically eaten her last frisbee). Sky our husky mix got him Star Wars Episode IV and the cats each got him the next two Star Wars movies. He'll love that. I think he likes the original Star Wars better than the new ones. Who can resist Princess Lea in her braids?? I know I can't.

I also got the digital scrapbook finished last night, so he has his entire life on one CD of photos now. It should be pretty fun to watch it together.

We're going out to dinner at this great little restaurant tonight that always has great food. I don't think I'm going to ask him at dinner because I don't want to risk embarrassing him and affecting his answer. So I think I'll do it when we get back to the house for ice cream cake (I made one for him last night with pound cake and Ben and Jerry's ice cream.. YUM). He's a private person, so he really wouldn't get off on the public question popping.

So, now that I've talked about myself for hours...

August - Chew SLOWLY? What does that mean? I only know how to scarf. I've tried to eat slower, to sit down while eating, but I can never seems to stick to rules like that. I'm glad your Nintendo will be an easy fix. I had no idea there were so many Nintendos on the market!! I really should just get one.

Heather - I love lady bugs too. They are the most precious little bugs, and they eat the bad bugs in your garden, so they're really awesome little critters. I ordered some one time from a garden supply store to get rid of my aphid problem. It worked. And my cabbages couldn't have been happier. Speaking of cabbages, its almost time to plant.... yipeee!!!!!

Shelley - You definitely need that bracelet. Accept it and gush. That's a good strategy. Then your SO will feel so good about being able to give it to you.

Becky - Welcome to our little group of haters/lovers. We actually need lovers of cardio to inspire us haters to work out more. Its a great balance. Your little Siamese sounds charming. Don't you love cats? They can be little terds (I can't believe she scratches the furniture with her back paws!! LOL), but they are so individual that each one is special. I used to have 4, but one died of old age (I'd had him since I was 12 - I'm 27 now) and the other was hit on the highway. Being a pet owner isn't always an easy job. Now we keep our cats inside (As much as we/they hate it sometimes). Don't worry about getting everybody's names and everything right today. Its a busy place! We're not usually this talkative.

Your Glow-Worm story was make me ROTFLMAO!! Those things always used to scare me when I was a kid. But I love caterpillars.

OK, I can feel my will to go for a run this morning quickly diminishing. So I'll BBL after my run and shower to catch up with everyone else. :D

Oh my goodness, what an active board today. I am going to have to go back and try to catch up on these posts.

ETA: Hmmm...my ticker is not showing up...

Holy crapoly this is a busy place today.

Shelley - I'm an administrative assistant for the special education department at a school district. That bracelet is gorgeous by the way!

Michele - glad the kitty is doing better. Is your nephew coming again this summer to visit with you.

Robin - sounds like a nice getaway you've got planned. Hope the weather cooperates.

Only an hour to go - yippee!!!

O hey you!

Good morning everyone. I think I have finally sort of caught up with all the posts I missed. There is so much going on!

Arista!!!!! Too cool! I LOVE the ring you picked out for Ryan. He would be crazy to say no to such a funny cutie-pie. We are all waiting for the details of this major event. (I for one feel very privileged to be included.)

August - wow, a genuine, honest-to-goodness, star among us! What kind of music do you sing/write. Have you written an Ode to Ched yet? To answer your question - one of the fellows down stairs is friends with the lady who owns the house, and he is supposed to be the maintenance person (he painted the outside trim last year.) I was just very disappointed that he would send such a nasty email because I thought he was a friend. We have had the guys over for dinners and holiday celebrations and been downstairs for birthday parties, etc. Maybe he had PMS - he is a bit of a drama queen.

Michele - my weekend was TEEEEEERIFIC, thanks for asking!!! The resort was beautiful - I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer when the golf course was open. The town of Cranbrook is not really my cup of tea (sorry if anyone lives there), but we did manage to do some shopping. OMG! I bought a SIZE 6 skirt!!!! I know there are lots of girls here that are tiny and would be mortified to fit into a size 6, but I don't ever remember fitting one. My DH picked out a top and the outfit made me feel awesome - I went to dinner that night and felt like a princess. I was kind of wondering what size all the girls that are like 110 pounds wear - negative 6? I weigh 143 right now, so I was pretty surprised about my size....anyway enough crowing. Hope you win the ant battle soon.

Dana - my weekend was WONDERFUL.....see^^^. I am so excited for you that you are starting to rub off on your DH. Oops, that didn't sound right...I meant your GOOD HABITS are starting to rub off on your DH and he is getting interested in taking better care of his health. I would LOVE a treadmill - my DH has started looking for one after we went to the hotel gym this weekend and worked out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Oh yeah, I don't take advantage of all the outdoor recreation in Nelson yet - my girls are 4 and 2, so it limits my options. You could really do anything outdoors that you want here, hiking, biking, skiing, fishing (hunting too, but that's REALLY not my thing, but I know some people are into it.)

Diane - I used to work with guys like that. I was young and I freaked out alot and would be told to "calm down" which would just make me angrier. I wish we could all come over for a good old fashioned ass-kicking!

Kara - thanks for the recipe!!! I just bought some barley yesterday.

Jen - you just make me feel sooo guilty for missing so many w/os lately. I think I should go work out now....

Terri - Nelson is quite a ways from Winnipeg. DH says about it would take us about 3 DAYS (traveling with the girls). Spokane, WA is a couple of hours south of us. I have been working out with Cathe for about 6 months. I started working out in Jan 2006 with the Kathy Smith DVDs/videos I had from my 20s, but after about 6 months I was needing something a LITTLE more intense. I was really confused about who to try - there are soooo many out there, but I noticed all the VERY enthusiastic review on Collage Video and ordered IMAX2. OMG did I bite off more than I could chew!! I then ordered Basic Step and Body Fusion and worked my way up. I have never looked back, Cathe has changed the way I feel about my body and helped me go from a size 14/15 to a size 6. Awesome. I just started posting this month. I needed to work on my mental/spiritual health and I am so grateful for these forums.

OKAY. I know I need to do more personals, but I am tired of typing and itching to get to my work out. I tried to work out around 6:30pm last night and couldn't get through my first step routine!! I don't know how you guys work out after work!

Hope everyone has a good day and is not worn out from all the long posts on this thread!

Corrie

Hey haters-yeah just one more post to add to the 100 above (if anyone's still reading)-

Jen-thanks for the baby blt recipe-looks good-

Arista-digital scrapbook-how do you do that-

Shelley- sending ssunny skies your way (100% guaranted in writning, if not satisfied send a SASE....(LOL)-

August- raised donuts? raised donuts? did I read that right? can you raise them from birth and then wean them when...no seriously, perhaps you meant dazed donuts) -are they as easy to raise as chickens?-LOL-and I think I should try to add in some pilates to my workoutws when I get back to it--

Terri- do you have a steel cut oats recipe- I've got a bag and I don't know what to do with them-same thing I did with the barley??-

Dana- I've been thinking of buying Amy Bento All Pump Extreme also (did I get the title right?)-it looks like a good one--

Becky- was it you that wondered how everybody keeps track of who's who and what who says, I'm right there with you-when I have time I write it down on paper and refer to it as I write-is there an easier way??-

Michele-your kitty sounds cute! and did you say something about barley burritos a few days ago? do you have the recipe? When I get a chance I will do a forum search on Christmas trees-is's probably something like the story of me and my hubby trying to put up wallpaper together.... and your going to Italy-yyeeeeaaaaahhhhhh!!! I went a couple of years ago-loved it--and one more thing -whats this 16 week max weight loss rotation?

Corrie- glad you had a wonderful weekend--

hi to everyone else---deb

Hi again,

I just got back from another hour long run... gosh, I hope I'm not starting to like running. What a traitor I would be to the people Cardio Hates ville. JK, I do like runnning (most of the time). One thing that I've noticed (and one of the major reasons I run or workout at all), is that I feel so much less anxiety and stress (and I'm happier) on days I run. I'm kind of a stress case sometimes.

Deb - If you can open another browser window and just have the thread open in that window while you're writing to people in the other window, its super-easy to scroll down and remember what you wanted to say as you were reading. That's they way I do it, at least.

Cora - I live in Spokane, so I'm not too far from you. I've never been to Cranbrook BC, but Nelson's great. I hear you about all the outdoor rec - its so beautiful up there and there must be tons of hiking around you. Before you know it, your kids will be old enough to join you on some hikes. Have you tried kayaking before? I never have, but with your lake right next door, that would be fun exercise!

Mariah - I forgot to congratulate you on the twins! How fun. Boys, girls, one of each?

Michele - Sinus headache.. yuck! Are you feeling better yet? I'm so proud of you resisting the donuts!!! You're stronger than I.

Dana - I'm a big hover-squatter in public bathrooms, so I'm right there with you!! Low ends are great to build up those hover muscles! LOL I've never tried Amy Bento before. Is she < or > Cathe on the toughness scale?

Oh, Deb, a digital scrapbook (well in this case) is just a bunch of photos that have been embellished (I used a program call Macromedia Fireworks) with comments, or whatever. Kinda like what you'd see in a regular scrapbook, but it goes through each picture like a slideshow.

Speaking of birthday gifts, I have some work to do before Ryan gets out of bed.... BBL!!! :*

Ditto to what everyone said about this list being so active today
Welcome Becky

Robin...Your wrists are thin?? I forgot that even though i am fat all over i do have skinny ankles and wrists but that only tells me i cant say i have big bones
and these heavy legs teeter on the pencil thin ankles
Are you near New Hope. I forget if it in Pa or NJ but its on the border Or how about Gettysburg my two fav places in that area

Dana
There are some cool and really good excersizes that you can do with your DH lots of partner excersizes might make it fun for you both

And I know what you mean about men losing faster then women..I wonder if its their commitment or just their physical way

I didnt see the Bacon sandwich recipe but thought id add one also
Its great for a group
BLT salad
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Bacon (Sounds like a B L T already, doesnt it?)
Add Mayonaise
The secret is add a "little" of the drippings from the bacon
It helps to wilt the lettuce a bit and adds the flavor
You will think you are eating a B L T minus the bread

Now, Im just home frm work read this thread going to make coffee, throw a laundry in and think about a workout for tonite

Oh by the way the twins were boy (Tyler) and girl (Rylie)

Mariah, I didn't say my wrist were skinny. They just aren't fat. LOL. I live in north central PA, about 3 hours from New Hope and the same from Gettysburg. I also love both places. Last July my DH and I spent a weekend in New Hope, touring wineries and shopping. Oh my gosh, that was the year before last, not last year. My how time flies.

All these recipes sound great. I mentioned the barley one, but DH said he'd pass. We'll see...

Corrie, kudos on the size 6. I was thrilled a couple months ago to be down to a size 10, but I'm afraid I'm back in the 12.:( Did I mention that my DH and I may be visiting my sister in WA in May? She lives in Metaline Falls, probably closer to you in Nelson then to Arista in Spokane. It depends on her DH's schedule, so I'm waiting to hear from her.

Deb, ROFLOL over the raised donuts. They have yeast in them, silly, and raise like bread dough. Oh my, a donut would never get to puberty in my house.

Dana, did you get to enjoy the beautiful day outside at all?

I got my bookcase painted. It will need a second coat, but I think I'm pleased with the color. I'll try to finish it tomarrow evening. Right now I'm headed out the door for a meeting at church. I hope they don't announce the dates for vacation Bible school. I'm not committing to anything until Cathe announces Road Trip dates.
