HATE IT - Mar 19

Terri, I have complete faith in you. You'll knock his socks off!

{{{{{CORRIE}}}}}, well you and your DM have been to hell and back, haven't you!? Thank you for sharing your story. Your mom is one determined lady and she is so lucky to have a wonderful daughter like you. She was completely driven by her love for you. I can't imaging the stress you must have been under, and your mom is living proof of God and miracles. I'll keep her in my prayers. {{{{{CORRIE}}}}}!

Arista, we have missed you, young lady. You better be studying because that's the only excuse good enough to rob us of your presence! :p

BRIEE, you are cracking me up! It is nice here in Hateville, isn't it? As I recall you were a bit of a doubting Thomas when I first started this check-in and now look -- you're checking in with us! Oh, and would you kindly inform my DH of the sway I hold around here -- it appears he hasn't gotten that memo. Yes, you would love him -- he's a real cutie patootie, albeit annoying as hell sometimes:eek: :7

Hi Becky!! I just saw your post. I hope you know what an inspiration you are, too.

I'm really, really going to bed now :*

Briee, Terri, Becky

Thanks for not being totally bummed out by my story! After I wrote it, I thought, well so much for the fun-loving, goofy check in - those girls are gonna kick me out for sure now!!!!

I haven't shared my story with many people outside of my family. I don't have a lot of girlfriends, most come and go (my own fault), most are women I've met at work, so it was kind of scary to write it down knowing any one could read it.

I didn't do it for sympathy, just so people could know me better and maybe someone else going through the same thing would not feel so alone. A doctor says cancer, but what we always hear is "death". I did at first, but afterwards I would not accept it. Not in a weird denial sort of way, but a calm, "I am not ready to continue this journey without the guidance of my mother and I don't believe it is her time" kind of way.

My mother was never sick before this. She even had her lungs checked for pre-cancerous cells as part of a study about 5 years before. Other than high blood pressure (which she reversed by exercise and diet) she had no health concerns. Yes, she was a smoker - this is the first question that comes to everone's mind when they hear lung cancer. But all my aunts and uncles and grandparents smoked and never had ANY form of cancer (smoking contributes to MANY types of cancer, not just lung cancer) so I had assumed that we had special genes...ha!

Oh, oh....I am babbling on again. Darn! I KNEW I should have gone to councelling when it was offered. LOL

I'll try to refrain from the long posts and keep it lighter from now on.

Corrie

ps JEN - I just had a good laugh at myself. I walked by my bulletin board and noticed a requisition for a chest X-ray I was supposed to get as a follow up to my pneumonia....I guess I should take care of that before I nag you anymore LOL. :)
