Hardcore Rotation Checkin Thursday 3/31/05

Hi Everyone -

I haven't been able to sleep the last few nights (only could sleep 4 hours last night...I just was all wound up these last few days) and I did Hardcore Extreme #1 this morning with some difficulty making my way through it. Sorry for all of my complaining lately...I'm having a rough week I guess. I'm on my last week of the FLR and I cheated and weighed myself this morning (not my usual weigh in day) and my weight is up a few pounds. I did this after my workout so hopefully it's water weight. I'm a little nervous about starting the Strength Rotation Sunday without having lost ...but there's always next month to try again.

Breakfast is oatmeal and yogurt...lunch will be salad and yogurt with fruit and pretzels for snacks.

I think I'm gonna do KickMax tomorrow (low impact TS version as I have to work the early shift and I'm feeling a bit wiped out). Saturday is my rest day and then Sunday I'm starting the April rotation.

ETA: WD - I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable commenting on how good you look. I noticed your avatar is missing now. I meant it as a sincere compliment....sorry if you were uncomfortable because of it.
 
Hi Lorajc ~

I'm so sorry your not feeling well. You don't have to apologize...I don't consider your "sharing" as "complaining". It is what it is...the truth. We're all served by one another when we keep things real. I'd rather be in the company of honest, real women than "fake", "everything's just wonderful in my life" women. The only way we can grow and learn from each other is when we're honest. I hope you're feeling better today...that the pendulum begins to swing the other way. I commend you for keeping up with your workouts. Anyone who's dedicated knows how difficult it is to press on with your workouts when you're feeling poorly.

Thank goodness today is a REST DAY on the HCME rotation. A cold is trying to get its grip on me. I'm really mad about that! I don't think it's gonna hang around for very long...I'm ugly when I'm mad! It's gonna run away scared (I hope!).

Hang in there Lorajc, I think a rest day is just what you need right now. And never think that you are "complaining" here, this is the place to share the frustrations as well as the victories.

Today was KM, and ab hits. First time I have put the entire KM together, still isn't my favorite, but I am working with it.

Hi everyone , I did GS Back today. and coremax #3 .I feel your pain I did FAT loss Rotaion last month and on first week of Strength rotation this week ... I lost No weight during fat loss rotation .I did loose 2 " around my waist though . A week into the strength,rotation ...I'm feeling great ...seeing results in the mirrior .but I got on scale this am ,and up 2 pounds ...the most my scale has been since I lost my 48 pounds .... Weird though my cloths feel great I felt like the scale was gonna go down .... So I'm NOT getting on the scale again !!!!!!! Its a dangerous way for ME to measure success ... Maybe you are like me ....WE are not alone ..I'm gonna keep plugging away and TRY to stay away from the scale !!! LOL...I'm starting to think theres a reason Cathe calls it FAT LOSS Rotation ...maybe we are trading body fat for Lean muscle mass . So we dont actually loose weight ,just body fat ...for that muscle ...Does that make sence ???? Ok now I'm babbling ....LOLwhat do you people think here ???? :) :) :) :) :)
 
Hey Mary a funny aside to that scale thing. We live in an old house with kinda uneven floors in some spots - which I have found out affects what the scale says! Brought my 5 year old daughter to the doc last week and her weight was up (a good thing since she is so skinny and eats like a chow hound). Our scale gave her weight as about 5 lbs lighter. Sure enough I moved the scale to a more level floor area and yes indeed my weight went up a few pounds. Meanwhile I am looking in the mirror lately saying "I look so fine these days!!" Moral of the story: it's about how the clothes fit and what the mirror says. I am putting away that scale and getting out my jeans to show off my Cathe bootie. As should you girl with your 2 inches smaller waist!!

I ran this am and did core work to keep said bootie in shape. Fri Hard Body Yoga, KPC Saturday, Run Sunday, sleep in Monday!

Hi! This morning I did L&G Extreme. My lower half feels really worked. I hard a real hard time waking up this morning, so I started working out at 5:15x(
Last night I added P90X Plyometrics. It was a lot of fun! Tonight I'll plan on doing abs.

Lora, I give you so much credit for keeping up your w/o's when you're really not up to it. Don't worry about starting the strength rotation. I personally look fit when I lift than doing tons of cardio.

Kim, sometimes when I feel a cold coming on, I take TONS of Vit. C. It seems to ward off a cold almost everytime.

Conni, enjoy your weekend, "see" you Monday!

Merrybaker, I too was doing the FL rotation and wasn't seeing results quick enough, plus I'm not so much into doing cardio all the time. Around week three I started with the Strength rotation and will continue through April. I might not follow it exactly though.

pressjn, I have a five year old too! He's small. Last week the dr. weighed him, 29 lbs. Yay!!
I'll come back later to see whom else checks in. I'm going to visit my parents this weekend, so I will not w/o. But I'll be back on Monday.

Lora hope you feel better.

Kim I always hate it when I get a cold. It seems it sets me back about a week. Take care and scare it away.

I haven't stepped on the scale in about two weeks. I guess I'm
afraid of what I might see. I'll measue by how my clothes fit.
All this leg and glute work has got to do something.

Well, I did MM this morning. I really like this workout and I'm loving the band.

Today was Cardio & Weights step only then Low Max Premix 4-7, GS back,shoulders, & biceps, and Core Max balanced core and complete core.

Lora we are all here to help each other. I think maybe you need to get some rest so you can come back with a little more energy. If I had that little sleep I don't think I could workout. Sometimes just changing workouts can help get the weight loss going. As others have said the scale is not always an accurate measure of one's progress. I hardly stand on mine. I put in the bathroom cabinet, so I have to get it out to weigh. A lot of the time weight gain in a short amount of time is water retention.
BTW Lora, I was not uncomfortable with your comment. I really appreciated it:) That has nothing to do with why my avatar is down right now.

I'm looking forwards to seeing all of you here April. I have printed out Cathe's rotation and have been looking at what changes I will make. It will probably be something like I am doing this week with the GS.

I am just kicking around stuff this week, not going by any particular rotation. I know I need to up my cardio to lose this pesky 4 extra pounds, but just like you girls, when you are tired, it is hard to up it a notch.
When you are getting a cold your body is wanting to rest as well. There is a fine line of when to push and when to go easy. ;-)

Lorajc, I am amazed at what you do. I love your enthusiasm. My goodness if you need a rest day, you certainly deserve one. :)

Monday I did Kick Max, and Imax2 (funny how this seems easy now. After Imax3 I guess anything is easier. LOL)
Tuesday I had to work all day.
Wednesday I did Rhythmic Step and Slow Heavy Chest and Back. I have never ever, since Rhythmic Step was released, been able to do it with no mistakes. In the beginning it was the phone, UPS delivery, someone walking in on me, falling off the step, just plain not getting the moves, something... Now this time, no distractions, a nice peaceful workout room, surround sound, and guess what? My stupid shoelaces comes untied and I just about kill myself stepping on them! Grrr. LOL
I think my DVD and the video is jinxed. LOL
Today I joined Diane in doing Cardio/Weights, but I stopped there. I may get to add on something later this evening, but right now I have to hit the books.
Diane I am in awe at your rotations!!!}( }( I swear I am going to join you by summer if it is the last thing I do. LOL

Another month of Hardcore....Yippee.... See all of you later.

The problem is ...is that I can't sleep. I'm too wound up. I have this problem quite often and I'm particularly stressed at work this week. My jaw is killing me from clenching. I don't even relax on vacation....I just go...go...go...that's why we like Vegas. I know...I have issues!:p

Tonight I plan on doing one of the hardcores:7 Not sure.....? I will have to look at my printed rotation. I think it is GS back??? Well whatever it is I am doing it!! My parents are coming next week HELP:eek: I need to get my house organized!!!!! Also I will need to get my butt out of bed early and get my workout done. So I need lots of luck with that..... I tried doing it in the am., but I do better with my workouts in the evening!! You see I am a OWL!!

Wanda I with you!!!! One of these days maybe..... We can join Diane Sue, but I hate to say I just don't have the endurance............ yet}(

I lasted on the FLR for a month...... Yes a month..... I can't believe I did it with ALLLLLLLLL that cardio. Well I did not lose any weight but I tell my body is morphing into something GOOD :7 I seem to remember that saying "First hired is last fired"" Relating to fat....... So I keep on working out and keep on watching that fat melt away and any day now it will be FIRED LOL!!!
