Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for November 2017

Today I did Kelly Coffey's Trim Down combined workouts, 58 minutes, 370 calories, heart rate 133 average, 170 max, 3,362 steps. I used 8's for the lights and 10's and 12's for the heavy weights. I like the way this one is fast paced and a metabolic type of workout with upper and lower work at the same time and boxing breaks. I then added on the Kelly Body Design Cardio light weight segment with the cool down, 15 minutes, 99 calories, heart rate average 122, max 138, 910 steps. Total time was 73 minutes and calories burned 469.

Today I did Cardio Coach 3 and had an excellent workout. I had a puke status workout this morning.

Total workout was 40 minutes, ran 2.92 miles (most I've ever done with this workout), burned 312 calories (TM said 385) and went 5821 steps. Avg. HR was 129 and Max was 175.

I also did the Tabata Ab Workout from Kelly. That was tough and I did pretty good with it. The plank part was hard for me, I'm really not liking planks right now. But really liked that ab workout.

Nice job with your workouts everyone!! Gotta get to work. I'm off after today, woo hoo!!!!

No workout for me yesterday. I have been sick for over a week, congestion and a cough, this is making it impossible to sleep. I have been taking medicine for the cough but it isn't working. My husband has the same thing. We always get run down this time of the year and I just cant seem to kick it. I am leaving for Reno NV on Friday and I don't want to get any more sick before the trip to the University. I am going to drink a lot of Apple Cider Vinegar today to see if that helps. Any suggestions? I may or may not workout the remainder of the week, I might try to fit in a total upper body workout today or tomorrow. The way I am feeling now, I will try my best!

Supposed to be 95 degrees here on Thanksgiving!!!!!! Not very fall like here in the OC.

Have a nice day.

No workout today. It turned out to be one of those unexpected days.

Debbie, I like that tabata abs workout. It is a good one. That one and the one from slim sculpting are two pretty tough ab workouts. The one on Slim Sculpting uses a kettlebell. She does the planks holding the horns of the kettlebell. They are in timed tabata rounds of 1 minute 4 times each move.

Jolie, I am sorry you are sick. I read on Dr Axe that Cordyceps Mushroom is supposed to help coughs and immunity. I buy that in a powder and coffee mix or just plain and add to coffee, and I get greens powder that has some in it like Paradise Greens or Amazing Grass Immunity.

Today I did the first Firm workout with Susan Harris, 63 minutes, 348 calories, 1,893 steps, heart rate 114 average, max 152. This is still a great workout. Getting a chuckle out of the outfits and wonder how they talked the guys to doing those hip tucks and rotational dance looking moves. It was fun doing it. I was surprised how hard those upper lower combos seemed. Granted I did start with way heavier weight and was soon dropping some poundage. I need to get going on cleaning and food prep. I am so behind on getting things read.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving :D

Today I feel a lot better! I drank a lot of apple cider vinegar yesterday and that really does the trick. I put together another Superset workout, Shoulders and Biceps. I really like this type of workout. 12 reps per set no rest between exercises. I did each superset 3 times. Workout was 32 minutes and I burned 249 calories.

Seated Overhead Press- 15# x 12 ( Superset repeated 3 times)
Traditional Bicep Curls- 15# x 12

1 Arm Lateral Raise- 10# x 12 (3 rounds)
Hammer Curls- 15# x 12

Rear Flies- 10# x 12 (3 Rounds)
W Curls- 12# x 12

Incline Front raise 2 arms- 8# x 12 ( 3 rounds)
Incline Hammer Curls with a twist- 12# x 12

I love this type of workout. I am not working out the rest of the week because tomorrow is Thanksgiving and then Friday morning we are leaving for Reno for the entire weekend. See you all back here on Monday! I hope you all have the most wonderful holiday with your families!!!

Diane Sue,
nice workout, I do not know that trainer. I hope you have the best holiday with your family!

Debbie, I am going to buy that workout you did a couple days ago, it looks like a killer! Enjoy your time with your Mom and your family tomorrow!!!!

Roselyn, I hope you have a wonderful day eating your favorite food, you deserve it with all of the kick butt workouts you have been doing lately!

Cheers!

Jolie, nice workout today. Enjoy your weekend ? Susan Harris did the first Firm workout. Those first several Firm Workouts are where I really started lifting some weights. You can see clips on youtube.

Today's workout was 60 minutes total, burned 303 calories and went 4029 steps. Avg. HR was 105, Max was 184.

Diane Sue - Those older workouts are a hoot!! And saying "hoot" cracks me up!!! Nice job with it!!!

Jolie - Great workout today!! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!

Roselyn - You have a great Thanksgiving too!!!

So I had to take one of my cats to the vets today. He has lost a lot of weight (went from 11# to 8# in a month) and so far he has a misshapen spleen and a possible tumor on the spleen. They also took blood and will test for diabetes and thyroid. This is another cat, not the one that was in the hospital for a week last year. I'm not sure what I will do, they want to do an ultra sound and that will cost $500, then they want to remove the spleen and see if it's cancer. I don't know if I want to put my poor cat through that. Me and my DH will talk about it tonight. I'm heart broken. :( Sucks sometimes having animals.

Debbie, do you do the pullovers with just your shoulders on the bench like Kelly? I do it that way sometimes and others I just lie on the bench like we do with Cathe's workouts. It feels harder the way Kelly does it though. I am sorry about your cat. That is a tough decision and particularly if it could be cancer. That is one of the tough things with our animals. It is not easy to watch them suffer either.

Today I did Press Play and did all of it. OMG, I think this was my personal best with any workout I've done cardio-wise. I kicked butt with it and now I won't feel so guilty eating turkey and everything else today. :)

Workout was 1 hr. 5 minutes, went 4.67 miles!!!!! Burned 515 calories (TM said 649), went 9385 (and I've already hit 10k steps today). Average HR was 131 and Max was 175.

Oh, and I was going to do the stretch/relax from this workout and started to do it, Candace was the one doing it. But she had you lay on your back and tense your whole body out. I tried it and my muscles are so tight as it is I was afraid to pull them. WTF? Why would you do a relaxing workout like that? She said to curls your toes and then tighten all your muscles until you feel it going up your legs, she said make your quad and hamstrings burn, then tense up all the way up to your shoulders. This went on for 5 minutes. I would be a ball of knotted muscles if I did that. No stretching at all. It was weird. I stretched out myself.

I feel great, glad I took the time to do this workout!

Diane Sue - No, I did the pullovers laying on the step bench, I have that set up like Cathe uses it in some of her workouts. I did do the pullover like Kelly explains, though, where you pull the weight all the way to the center of your chest and that made a huge difference. Really felt it. I know, it's so sad to see him lose weight and all. I just don't want to put him through surgery and all that, it's not what cats should be put through. We will love him and keep him as long as we think he isn't in pain, and then we will put him down. :( So sad...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Kick Step boxing, 70 minutes, 448 calories, heart rate average 137, max 166, 5,912 steps. I rolled the mat up to kneel on for the kneeling punches and core work and used 3# dumbbells. Showering and getting back to cooking. I have the turkey breasts lined up in a large pan. I was lucky I managed to get 16# of turkey breast in one pan because two pans would not fit in the oven. It smells yummy :D I put checked my calories burned app with this workout this morning and it gave me 611 calories using 28 as my vo2 max which is considerable less than what Fitbit gives me. If I use what Fit Bit gives me the calorie burn would be even higher.

Debbie, the reason I was asking is doing it with the shoulders on the step seems good except if I go very heavy it is hard to hoist that dumbbell into position and get it back down. That is why I sometimes just do it flat on the bench. She does give good instructions on moves like that.
I understand on your cat. I am sorry he has lost so much weight. My heart goes out to you, having to put a pet down is so hard. Great job on the CC and the steps and calories today .

Today I did Kelly's workout - Muscle Up/Lift to 2B Fit Workout 2, and had a great workout. This one is fun. I need to get a few more of her workouts. Not sure what i"m doing next week. Probably mixing Kelly and Cathe together.

Then I walked on my treadmill for 2.25 miles on a 2% incline.

Total workout was 1 hr. 17 minutes total, burned 403 calories (holy crap! but I don't think that's right) and went 5916 steps. Avg. HR was 103, Max was 187. I looked at my FB while walking and it showed I was at 187bpm. I wasn't even sweating so WTF? Not right for sure. So that is why it is showing a huge calorie burn, there is no

Diane Sue - I don't have any issues using a heavy dumbbell doing pullovers on the step bench. I think it would be harder to do it the way Kelly does it.

No workout again. I have a cold and started feeling poorly yesterday. Maybe tomorrow.

Debbie, I like that workout too. Nice workout and calorie burn. That does seem like a high heart rate for walking. Sometimes though I think they get interference and the max heart rate is only for a couple of seconds. I get some in the 180's once in awhile and I know if it happened it had to be a second of interference or something.

This morning I did Kelly's Cardio Pump workout # 1, 30 minutes, heart rate average 139, max 172, 2,775 steps. I then did workout #2 pump weights, 30 minutes, (no warm up) heart rate average 112, max 143, 364 steps, 159 calories. Total time was 60 minutes, 367 total calories burned.

Today I did 4DS Chest, Shoulders & Triceps premix and had a pretty good workout. I should have prepared for this last night, I couldn't find the premix and it took me extra time to find it. Plus I don't like the warmup because it's for the cardio work so I had to take the disc out and do the warmup from GS Chest & Tri's. So that wasted time. I was able to do the whole workout except for the last triceps superset.

I don't have time to type out the weights, I'll do it later if I can. I used the weights Cathe used for the most part.

I also did the Tabata cardio workout on that app I have. I love that short workout. I can get .75 miles doing that 11 minute workout. I also walked until I reached 1.25 miles.

Workout was 61 minutes, burned 256 calories and went 3618 steps. Avg HR was 95 and Max was 153.

Diane Sue - Nice job on Cardio Pump, you used some really good weights!! Nice job!!!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, mine was really nice. Have great workouts today!!!

Today I did Ripped With Hiit Legs, 49 minutes, 292 calories, heart rate 119 average, 150 max. Maybe some cardio tomorrow, I have no definite plan this week. I sort of wanted to do Strength and Stamina , but I had grandchildren and the dog and thought the kettlebell swings might not be a good idea.

Today I did Cardio Coach #5 and had a great workout. I didn't have a puke status one, but still, a good workout. Love this workout, I also did the stretch at the end of it, it's a good one.

Workout was 62 minutes (with stretch), ran almost 4 miles - 3.86 to be exact, burned 439 calories (TM said 518) and went 7726 steps!!! Avg HR was 125 and Max was 174.

Diane Sue - Nice workout, not sure I've ever done that one? I haven't worked my legs (until recently) due to knee issues. Lately my knees seem ok. I plan on doing 4DS legs this week, we'll see how that goes.

Jolie - Where are you?? You haven't checked in since last Wednesday, hope you are ok.

Roselyn - Glad you had a good Thanksgiving!! We did as well!

Have great workouts today everyone!!!
