I started my workout today with 4 day split HIS w/up and cardio, then I did Kelly Coffey's Cardio Sculpt fitness all cardio premix skipping the w/up(24min cardio and 8 min abs) then I did Amy's Advanced Step Challenge quick premix which was combos 1-3 out of the 5. I am going to do Slo Mo legs in a few minutes.

Anne, I buy ground turkey at Walmart and have not had a problem. Maybe it is the store. Maybe they don't get things stocked before they get warm. I know we have one store in particular here that I cannot buy milk because it will go bad before the date. The only reason I can see for this is the way they handle it.

Hey Maniacs! Today is LIS or a bike ride if it's warm enough.

Lora-I bet standing all day is what hurting your feet. It takes awhile to get used to it.

Anne-ICK! Go somewhere else for meat. I never buy it at wal-mart. Scares me!

Diane Sue-Nice workout. Have you got all the steps down for HIS yet?

Later...

Good mornign. Holy crap, my lower back hurt SO bad last night. I felt it on my way to work. I luckily got to leave work early, but so far today it has been ok. But I have major DOMS in my obliques, and some in my shoulders and upper back. Feels good. I am supposed to do the full body from BBC, but I don't have to work, so i will prolly wait till later today to WO. Want to make sure the back is OK.

Lora- yeah my feet got used to it, but I also have a really comfy pair of nonslip shoes that I wear. They are very cushiony.

Anne- smart taking it easy with the back. That is weird about the turkey.

DS- sounds like a really good WO you got there!

Dallys- hopefully you get a nice bikeride in, especially since winter is on it's way!

Meag, ya hurting girl..
For once i am not , just the lower back sore. Not worth the risk..

Diane Sue, it is the only meat i ever buy at Wal mart. I usually get it at Martins. I get sick every time i buy the Perdue at Wally world...

Gonna do Cathe's splits this week..
I like m... And they do not hurt my back.
Think i may modify some of the moves in slo mo..Throw the barbell on my back..
Dally, it is fricken freezin here.. I am so not ready for this..

I am hearing snow this week.. GRRRRRR..

Meaggie, have a great w/o girl.Did you have some ice cream???

I made a lo fat carrot and pineapple cake. DH likes sweets and i have to try to feed him healthy..

He made city chicken yesterday and was it greasy lookin.. I would not eat it..(He looks up a recipe and thinks he is chef Pier)..
LOL..

Well gotta get to the bank and going to see mom and dad before work..

Take care all..

I'm finally back. I'm so out of whack from this job. I just got my schedule and I'm not working that many hours any more and it's all evenings and the crap schedule ...Fri...Sat & Sun's! Yuck. I work Thanksgiving and the day after till closing! Yikes. I really need to get a better full-time secretarial job soon. Praying. I had a call today and a possible interview for Wed (if my Excel skills are good enough - we'll see).

I ended up doing Kelly Coffey-Meyer's Cardio Sculpt. My feet still bothered me but because there was not so much lateral movement...it was better. workout was 75" and I burned 649 calories. That was fun. Didn't follow it perfectly, but pretty good. LOVED the music....especially during the ab work and cool down and Kelly even started to sing a few words. I really like her. Not sure how safe the shoulder work was for my injury.....guess I'll find out in the next couple days. She does lateral raises behind you and out at an angle. LOVED the biceps section. Very original and innovative and burned my bi's and the ab segment was great. I did it unweighted and felt a burn and that is rare for me.

I'm very impressed with both Kelly and Amy's new offerings. I think Cathe has some stiff compeition with these two (well...not really, but you know what I mean). I actually think they make very good complimentary workouts to Cathe's stuff. I think Amy's Slo-Mo has a slight advantage of being better than Cathe's recent's in my opinion cuz she included 1 hour total body mixes on her Slo-Mo and Cathe did not. I wish Cathe would have.

Diane Sue - I can't believe you did all of that new coreography this morning. HIS and Amy's!! YIKES!!! Are you catching on to Amy's? I'm afraid to try it again. Did you do the tutorial? I have to do low impact for a couple days anyway....so I'll probably have to grit my teeth and do the elipitical soon. The Bike is supposed to get fixed tomorrow. Do you have any suggestions on how to put a total body workout together with Cathe's new series to equal about an hour? I have no clue how to go about doing it! I'd appreciate your expertise!

Meg & Dallys - Let's hope these tootsies get used to all of this standing. I feel old and haggard. I bought a pair of Saucony walking shoes and tried wearing them around the house but they were so stiff that they rubbed my bunion and I think that's part of the problem....plus when I'm not working, I don't even want shoes on!! So, I don't know how I'll break a new pair in. I've been trying to wear my Yoga Toes...(they go in between your toes and stretch and relalign the bones in your feet if you're not familiar with them).

Have great workouts everyone. I tried my new cheapo Single Serve Blender this morning and actually had a Swiss Mocha Protein Smoothie with Splenda (Diane Sue's recipe) and some almonds post workout and then by the time I got my bath and such....it was too late for breakfast, so I just had some yogurt and blueberries and I think I'll go over to Mom's for lunch and have eggs. I'm getting my protein today. I can actually see my abs today. Maybe I lost a pound from working and not pigging out all of the time!!

Hello Ladies!

This morning I did Cardio Kickbox Plus Heavy Weights Legs and Core. I was hoping to have enough time to do extra cardio. But since it was my first time through I spent extra time setting up my weights, writing down what I was using, getting out my ankle weights (I didn't know I needed them since I never preview first - the price I pay), running upstairs to sharpen my pencil :) and all that stuff. My workout ended up being an hour and 22 minutes so I didn't have any time really to do extra cardio. Darn! I could have squeezed in 10 minutes, but oh well. I'll be more prepared next time. I'm pretty sure my legs will be sore tomorrow. Yay!!!

I'm feeling better today. I went to bed early and so I felt like I had more energy when I woke up. I think I'm finally on the mend. I finished my antibiotics this morning - the ones that didn't work. But I was afraid to quit taking them just in case. ;) No more slacking on the workouts. I'm a little low on the scale the last couple of days but I think that's b/c I've been over cautious since my workouts have been lacking. So hopefully I can have some balance again. Let's hope so since I see my neurologist Friday. Don't wanna have a fight. :p Maybe he's getting used to my new frame.

Lora - I'm sorry you have to work on Thanksgiving. My sister has to work that morning if it makes you feel any better. :) I hope you get a job you like soon.

Storm - What's up with your back woman??? I buy my ground turkey at Sam's Club.

Diane Sue - What a great workout!

Dallys - My poor outdoor road bike misses me. I hope you get to ride outside. I posted a picture of that top on Saturday's check-in if you want to see it.

Meg - And your back too? My goodness!!! What are we going to do with you two???

Well, back to work. Lots to do, as usual. :) Makes the day go fast.

I finished Amy's Slo Mo legs. Started with a 65# dumbbell but dropped to her weights for the rest of the workout. My legs, glutes and low back really felt this. I pulled out the foam roller and my Kelly Roberts dvd when I was done to help loosed up the tight muscles. Feels ok now. I like the workout though. Kept redoing the glute wrap with the plate loaded bar so there was some extras in there. I was trying to get the weight right and make it comfortable. My bar is way longer than Amy's. I tried my easy curl bar and the weight slid off the end along with the clamp. I think maybe a bodybar and ankle weights might work better but didn't try that yet.

Lora, I think you could get a full body workout by choosing 1 or two rounds from each workout. I don't have all of the times down yet. I used shoulders alone with another workout one day and all of the shoulders came to around 12.5 minutes, core on KB legs is 8:50, calves is 5:06 Round 4 of Biceps and Triceps is 8 min.. I would have to put the dvd's in and mark the times then choose what I would think would be the best moves to do. I will try to get that done for you if you like. I have so many notes on all of these workouts.
This was my first time with Amy's Step. I chose the quick premix so I could familiarize myself with the first 3 combos before going on. I think I can get it eventually. Probably not to many more turns and changes that HIS has. I was looking at the cardio weight circuits and circuit 1 uses the first 3 combos. Circuit two uses combos 3 and 4 and the power ups, and has more of the glute work involved.

Dallys, I still am working on that last part of HIS with th jump over the bench and turns. Sometimes I think I have it and then others I am doing everything wrongLOL

Hi again, Just taking a break from a mean phycho dog that's ruined my whole day.;( I just keep repeating to myself: Patience, patience, breath...

Suz- I saw the top and thought it was georgous! I hope you can find something close to that material and color.:) I know it's sad that the bikes aren't going to get out much anymore. I'm going to miss it. Today looks promising though.

Diane Sue-That's part messes me up to. Also the hitch kick thingy. I'm always facing the wrong way and I'm on the wrong side! I just pretend I'm doing it right and hope someday it will all fall into place lol.

Back to the nightmare...Breath...

Diane Sue, I have an ever so sore lower back.. I used my body bar for the leg portion. It was akward.. I have ring weights that go on the ends.. I did the whole 72 min premix then went back and did the missing leg routines.
Only other thing sore is the tri's a little.
She did them with your legs on an incline step. I would prefer to use the step and bosu..

Didn't even try the step yet. Need to preview it some and do the learning potrion..Amy's style is different than Cath's. I will get her eventually.

Char, where are you..
Dallys, i get mean people that is worse...

Well, gotta do some work ..Can't pay the bills playing on the internet..

Diane Sue - yes.....if you could figure something out for a full body 50-60 minutes long...that would be great. I wish Cathe would have done it for us! :) I must be worse at picking up step coreography than you! but I know what you mean about sometimes getting it and other times being lost. What's a Cliff Bar? Did you use AMy's tutorial? Do you need any special set up for the Slo-Mo legs?

Suz - your workout sounds like mine ALWAYS are. It always takes me longer to do a workout......ADD girl. Sorry.....don't mean to whine about this job.....just having a hard time adjusting to everything and I really need more hours and more money ....ya know? It's an experience in the mean time and at least it's a little bit of money.....with a whole new schedule.

I'm mad cuz I have to do something low impact tomorrow and I don't feel like doing the elipitical cuz it will bore me to tears. I wonder if I can get away with one week of more impact ?? since I have new DVDs to try? I don't want my healing foot to get worse and my feet are sore from standing. NEED SUGGESTIONs for low impact DVDs to do instead of the eliptical.

Dallys - Yeah, I'd LOVE to find that fabric and that color. That would be perfect. But I'm not holding my breath. :) I was so lost on those hitch kicks! I'm afraid to do HIS again. But I know I'm never going to get it if I let it sit there. I just end up jumping around hoping that it might click. Of course I did just stand there staring part of the time. Not good for the ol heart rate!

Lora - A job like that would be very difficult for me to adjust to as well. Don't feel bad about whining. I would probably come home and cry everyday! But then I'd feel bad because I should feel happy that I had a job. So then I'd cry some more. :p

Question--- how bad are white potatoes? I know they have a lot of carbs, but I don't load them with stuff when I eat them, just my can't believe it isn't butter spray. So what's the word on the spuds??

Lora- I would def go low impact if you are still healing. Don't risk it, specially since you are on your feet more with work. Have you tried inserts for your shoes.

Dallys- what kinda dog is it?? That must be rough. Be careful!

Char--where are you today??

Anne- my back is feeling better, not throbbing, just DOMS now. So I should be good for some sort of WO later.

Maeghan AKA megadoo

Meg - have you ever tried a sweet potato baked in the oven? They are soooooooo good. Just a thought. I don't know how bad the whities are though.

Suz - not only is it an adjustment.....but I don't really feel like I "fit in"....which is not abnormal for me....cuz of my history....but I REALLY feel like I don't fit in here. I don't mean to be rude or ignorant...but I'm the only one that wears any makeup in the cosmetics dept. Most of their clothes and shoes are very, very worn.....and the one girl I work with is 24 and has a mouth like a truck driver. The other one I work with is little miss Brown Noser and is so INTO her job that it's sicknening. It's not Macy's cosmetics for goodness sakes...it's just Walgreens. Also, one of the ladies at lunch the other day said she always wanted to be a Cashier from the time she was little. I found that a bit odd??....but maybe it's just me that's odd.....I dunno. Whatever...it's entertaining at least.

Meg - I think the white potatoes are bad. Sorry! :)

Lora - That's funny about the girl always wanting to be a cashier. I guess she's reached her goal! Gotta hand it to her. :) Don't worry, you'll find your niche.

Meg when i eat a baked potato , i garnish them up with peppers and onions and pepper..
I read an article that white potatoes actually have alot of nutrients that sweet potatoes don't.
But in moderation..Not every day..

Hi,
I just wanted to chime in about white potatoes. It's not as bad as people have previously thought. It has just has much nutrients and fiber as sweet potatoes. Only problem is it has a lot of starch. I eat white potatoes every other week and I don't have any problem. I just can't stomach sweet potatoes. They do have less calories than sweet potatoes. I'll see if I can find the article in one of my fitness magazines. I just read it about 2 months ago. I don't understand why people are afraid to eat certain fruits/veggies. The trick is eating them at the right time. I admit I do eat loaded baked white potatoes with sour cream, chives, bacon and sharp cheddar cheese once a month with a big juicy sirlion. :9 I know bad, but so good! :7

P.S. Where's Deb? I haven't seen her in a few days. I sure hope she's ok. I miss seeing her posts.
