Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March

Debbie , I have all of them. Tempos were not in the basic package and Lucky 7 was free with purchase from a Beach body coach. I gave a rundown of Lucky 7 a few days ago. Tempos are worth the money. I am not at home right now so I will give a description later

Today is a rest day and dinner with friends.

Debbie,Here is the post I put out on Thursday in answer to Roselyn about Lucky 7

I haven't done my workout yet. I just wanted to pop in and say that I have all of the Beast workouts. I liked them so much that I went back and purchased the two Tempo workouts as well. I think that Lucky 7 came with it because I purchased from my Beach Body Coach. It is nice when I want a quick weight workout. The format seems kind of easy at first but it sneaks up on you. I found myself adjusting my weights accordingly. It is around 22 minutes, I think, and you do 7 groups of 2 to 3 moves. Each group is done 7 times. For instance group one is EZ push up+Clean+Squat, moving through all 3 moves counts as 1 rep, then you do it again for 2 reps (or rounds) till you get to 7 reps. On Beast you use dumbbells and an EZ curl bar for the workouts. You could still use a barbell though. He usually has one of the guys using dumbbells instead of the bar. I have also typed up a list of the moves in the Beast Cardio workout. It still uses dumbbells for part of it.

Tempo workouts do sets of 15, 12, 8 reps then a set of 10 reps ab/core work.

Today's workout was an Extreme Burn Circuit 1, 37 minutes, 137 calories, Chalean Extreme Ab Burner 11 minutes, 25 calories, and Amy s Body Box Premix Short and Sweaty which was combo 1, interval 1, combo 2, interval's 3 & 4, 50 minutes, 312 calories. I thought I would do Chalean Extreme this week. Not sure I will stick with it though. Today was a little heavy on the delts. I lightened up. There was legs, chest and core too though. Total time was 98 minutes and calories burned 474.

Debbie did you start the Body Beast program yet?

Roselyn did you order Body Beast?

I did order Diane Sue, so waiting to start that. Kind of laying off the weights to start that, so today was a ruthless workout, tomorrow I will probably do RWH plyo or maybe Intensity still deciding.

Sorry I didn't log my workout this morning, I did start Body Beast. I did Build: Chest & Tri's this morning and really liked the workout but could have done without all the testosterone comments. I realize this is a "mans" workout series, but really? The guy sounds like Arnold and I just had to roll my eyes the entire time. But I really did like the workout. I'm looking forward to the next one.

One thing, though, I won't workout 6 days in a row. I always take Saturday and Sunday off. Plus I really don't want to give up my cardio. This morning I did chest & tris and then got on my treadmill and walked a mile. I have to see how long the workouts are and then I can hopefully add some cardio in after I do them. Maybe. I really haven't decided yet. LOL!!

Back in the day all I did was lift and did well with it. Low body fat, high metabolism. But now I love doing cardio and I miss it when I can't do it. So I need to find a happy medium. We shall see as I go about this series...

Roselyn, I understand giving the heavy weight workouts a break till you get them.

Debbie, I was a bit taken back when I started Body Beast but, I came to get sort of a kick out of his jokes. The guys don't seem to take offence. Give it a little time. I like the workouts a lot. I would give you the times but they are in the book. I went and checked. Personally I would maybe do the cardio once in awhile but, choose my own when I want some. Cardio makes me feel good but, I know it is not that important, just once in awhile. I like it though. Makes me feel like I really did something and helps with the mood. If I did not do it as much with a good diet, I know it help me achieve my gain goals.

I read so much about the cardio factor and how we don't need as much as we do but I love it too. How often do you guys do cardio and do you do it on weight days?

I ended up ordering the Tempo workouts last night. Glad I did!!! Can't wait to get them.

Today I did Body Beast - Build: Legs. Had a good workout, my legs will be sore for sure. They were real rubbery when I got done. I walked on my treadmill for 1 miles as well.

Diane Sue - Thanks, I will look in the book for the times, I thought that was just a meal planner book. I will probably try to some sort of cardio in at least once a week if I can.

Roselyn - I've read that too about cardio. I only like to keep it in because I love doing it and because it makes my heart strong. I used to hate cardio, I'm not sure why I love it so much now. I usually do cardio at least three times a week. When I do programs like STS or now Beast, it won't be that much.

Roselyn, my cardio varies. Yesterday I felt I needed it after the weekend's not so clean eating. I take at least one day off from workouts a week. But, that being said, I learned it does not make a huge difference if I don't do it. After my knee surgery I couldn't do much but upper weight workouts for several weeks. It made little difference in the physique and my weight remained the same. I did watch the diet though. I have osteoarthritis and keep reading a lot on not overtraining and too much cardio. I am trying to keep them somewhat shorter and add not too much jumping right now. That is why I am using so many premixes for the cardio workouts. I used to do 90 minute cardio sessions everyday. I am sure that probably contributed to the torn meniscus and arthritis around the knee. The surgeon suggested I lay off the jarring cardio. He used to be an avid runner and had to quit.

I was looking at Beach Body's Workout sheets and printed up a Piyo/ P90X3 Hybrid rotation. I thought I might try throwing in some of those weeks and see how I like it.

Today I decided to do URX-MT, urban rebounding, Total Body Metabolic Strength Conditioning with Gay Gasper ( I chose this one because it only uses the sand weights the last 12 minutes) . Anyway, 11 minutes in I realized they used sand weights the through the warm up and were still using them constantly. I checked and I had the other Gay Gasper Interval workout in. I switched and just started from the beginning on th planned workout. This was 61 minutes total and 451 calories. I then did TRX Essential Flexibility through the first 35 minutes. I believe it is around 49 minutes total though. There are some really good stretches for the lats, neck and shoulders in this. It really felt good. Calories burned for this was 134. Total time was 95 minutes and calories burned was 585. Tomorrow I will do the next Chalean workout for the burn phase.

Debbie, the manual has quite a bit of information and I believe competition information at the back. They combined the work info and nutrition as well as recipes in one book. I was kind of sorry that they did this because I like to keep the nutritional stuff in the kitchen and the fitness info in the workout room upstairs.

Roselyn, good idea to hold off on the weights till the Body Beast workouts come.

ok got my body beast and i could not find times in book, maybe i missed will look again.

going to do chest and tris tomorrow.

Debbie, did you get any of the supplements? I think you said no Diane Sue, just wondering.

I can't find the workout times listed anywhere in that book either, I've looked through it twice. Roselyn - you can google "Body Beast Workout Sheets" and it will come up from Beach Body and they are nice workout sheets for each workout (14 pages) and I have been using them. So get them for your use, they are handy. But I still can't find where the times for these workouts are. And no, I didn't get any supplements, just the shakes that came with it that I have to worry about cancelling now. I hate when they do that.

Actually - here is the link for the workout sheets: http://www.teambeachbody.com/en_US/home/-/dl_get_file/a7096992-06fc-4f2f-a359-ca11fb2cee42

Surely they didn't change the Book of The Beast !! They start with the workouts on page 19. On page 119 is the competition plan.

Today I did Body Beast - Build: Back & Bi's. Had a great workout, I really liked this one. Those guys are still very annoying, but the workout was great. I skipped the last set of close grip chins and the supine cobra's but other than that, I did the rest and had an excellent workout.

Yea, it looks like my book is different. There is nothing about the workouts in it. Just mostly how to figure out how many calories you need to eat and then the recipe part. Weird.

That is odd. Mine has stuff describing dynamic set training, a description of each workout, safety tips, workout tips, which training schedule is right for you, about Sagi, the workout plans,(there is a separate sheet as well with the workout plans) it doesn't start with Beast eating plan till page 34. Then at page 115 there is a whole section on competition and photo shoots and a plan.

started body beast and did chest and tris, good workout think i am going to like!

Diane Sue the book we have has only 92 page i think the last few being ads for items. so they must have changed.

Debbie did you figure your calories and macro needs?

I think they may have done a whole new book. I just checked because I am remembering there being errors in the nutritional information. There is a whole thread on it on the Beast section of the message boards.
