Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for February 2019!!

Today my legs are so sore from Sunday's workout! I also strained my lower back some how so that is sore too. I did Cathe Live Vertical Loading workout, it is one of my favorites! Workout was 1 hour and 5 minutes, I took a break to change a load of laundry, and I burned 515 calories. I wanted to walk on the TM but my glutes need a rest. I have to take my dog out for a walk so that will have to be it instead. I will not post the workout, it is the exact same as the last couple of times that I did it. I tell you what, the workout I did Sunday was so hard on my back side:)

Debbie, nice workout and I am sorry that it bothered your hamstring again. I follow a trainer on Instagram who is going through the exact same thing. She is now only lifting light lower body weights and had to eliminate her cardio till it totally heals. What about Acupuncture?

Belinda, I am going tomorrow to look for a how but cant do anything until March 14th till our contingent time is up with the buyer of our house. At least I can see what I am getting myself into in my price range. San Clemente is extremely expensive, a beach community, so I will be downsizing for sure. I found one on a golf course over looking the mountains with no one on the back side of the house. The view is spectacular! It is 3 bedrooms 3 baths with a huge bonus room overlooking the ocean that I could use for my guest/gym room :) Nice job on your workout today, if I am not mistaken, I used to read your posts years ago, did you live oversees?

I will be back later to read additional posts.

Have a nice day.

Today I did Cathe Low Impact Challenge from the low impact series, 51 minutes, heart rate average 146, max 179, met 7.50, 4,677 steps, 332 calories. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Just Step , 24 minutes, heart rate 148 average 173 max, 157 calories, met 8.3, 2221 steps. I finished off with Barre Amped Stretch upper body and ball, 22 minutes, 35 calories, met 2.0, 95 steps. Total time was 97 minutes, 524 calories, 6,993 steps.

Jolie, that must have been a tough lower body workout.

Belinda, great job finishing up the Lift rotation. Nice that you got in core and barre work too. No, you sure don't want to be in the hospital with a sinus infection.

Debbie, I like that Home Gym Intervals workout. I am sorry your hamstring is hurting again. If it is bursitis it may take quite a lot of therapy to get past it. Nice workout today and getting in some extra time on the treadmill.

Roselyn, nice job today.

Debbie - fantastic job today. I think it's my sinus. I feel much better today. Taking all my meds. Just a little tired.

Jolie - your new house sounds lovely. I wished I lived near a beach or overlooking one. I been downsizing since last year. We accumulate a lot while living overseas. I was born and raised in Germany. After my husband retired from the military after 31 years we moved to the US. Our house is over 4000 square feet...way to big for just 2 people. Not to mention all the cleaning. I didn't plan on moving this year, it looks like a multimillion $$ toxic instulatons factory from Denmark is getting build just a few miles from my house and not to mention across from a elementary school :( I am shocked the city allowing this to happened. The people are fighting it, I hope they can stop this nonsense! I didn't plan on moving this year looks like it will happened one way or the other. Not sure, where we will move too? Just away from the town with currently live in. Good luck with everything!

Diane - good job with your workout today. I had my share on sinus/ear infections. Thanks! I am glad I did L4. Probably will do it again in the future.

Roslyn - good job!

Roxie - have a great workout today.

Belinda, that is terrible about the factory trying to build in your area. It is all about money usually. Big businesses like that bring in revenue for cities. I suppose it supplies jobs, but safety should be first always and it makes it rough for residents who have to live with it. I am sorry. Maybe it won't happen.

So I can't help but wonder if my hamstring is giving me issues running so I can do different types of cardio. I am having so much fun doing other cardio workouts that I find I really don't miss running all that much. Well, I do, but I am really enjoying what I'm doing with the different workouts I've been trying.

Today I did what Diane did yesterday - Kelly's RAW Just Step. OMG, what a fun, easy step workout. I loved it. Easy to follow and not too high impact. Great workout.

Workout was 25 minutes, I burned 168 calories and did 2366 steps. HR was 134/196.

Then I did Beach Body's Chill Flow yoga workout and that was 32 minutes and I burned 130 calories which is really good. My HR was 109/142. It felt great to do yoga again.

Diane - That was a fun workout, I seen you did it yesterday and since it was only like 25 minutes I thought I'd give it a shot. Have you done the other two step workouts on RAW? How are they? If my hamstring isn't better by the time summer gets here, I'll have to go get it looked at. The weird thing is, it never hurts unless I run.

Jolie - Wow, that house you are looking at sounds heavenly. My dream house is on the lake in upper northern Ohio. My DH and I really want to get one and are saving for a down payment. One of these days. Good luck with all of this, I'm sure all will go well. I did read what you wrote about your friend who has a hamstring issue. Sounds similar to mine. Weird this is mine doesn't hurt unless I run on it. I did the step workout today and I was fine.

Roselyn - Nice leg workout! Kicking it!

Belinda - Hope you are feeling better. Nice job on LIIFT4. I can't believe you are almost done with it. That sucks about the factory thing. What a shame, why would they do that?

Roxie - Where are you?

Have great workouts all!!

Yesterday I did Bootcamp Strong Live 10-25-18 and this morning I did Kick, Box and Bags Live 1-17-2019. Both great workouts.

Debbie - bummer about your hamstring. I used to run 4 miles 4x/week and thought I would never give it up. However, my feet started hurting (big toe joint) and I had to give it up for a while and found Cathe and step workouts! Now I haven't run in a couple years and really only miss it in the summer when the weather is nice and you can just get out and enjoy!

Good morning,

Walk and SBF TB is done.

Debbie - thanks for asking. My noise is still a little stuffed up, other than that I feel fine. Looking forward to a recovery next week. It is a shame about the factory.Yesterday I shared some on my wall on FB. It's all about money. Sorry about your hamstring giving your problems. I hope with lots of stretching/resting you be up and running again. I sent you a pm.

Diane - Yesterday I shared some article about the situations on FB. If you have time, maybe you want to read it. It's just doesn't make any sense. We have vineyards/organic farmers all around. People just destroying everything. Unbelievable that this is happening :(

I don't want to post it the article on the forum, everyone would know where I live. If anyone in this group wants to read it please let me know. I will sent you the link.

BBL!

My workout seemed to take forever deciding what to do. Anyway I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Blast Plyo Blast, 39 (37 actual) minutes (longer than I remembered), heart rate average 128, max 158, 248 calories, 3,016 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Legs and Glutes finisher,16 minutes, 114 average, 152 max heart rate, met 6.0, 87 calories, 703 steps, and ended with Cathe Lite abs #2 and extended stretch #2, 22 minutes, 71 calories, 115 steps. Total time was 77 minutes, 406 calories, 3,833 steps. I figured lower body finisher was perfect for using with the plyo blast workout.
Legs and Glutes Finisher weights
squats 20# dbs followed by fast squats then toes out fast squats body weight
front lunges w/ pulses 20# dbs then regular lunges alternating folloed up with lunge shooters no weight
reverse lunge down up down 20# dbs alternating followed by alternating reverse lunge touch the floor
front/side/together lunge squat move 15# dbs 2 sets followed by split lunge hop then out hop then back alternating sides
Finished off with single leg and double leg bridges (I used 15 # db on hips) also does some with knees in and out movement.

Debbie, Raw Step # 2 is fun and pretty simple, she has a spot around 30 minutes in where you can stop or you can continue. There is a bit more impact for a few minutes for lower body at that point and then she goes into boxing moves and standing moves to work the core. I really like it. The first time I did it I thought it was over , but then she says you may want to continue or something like that. Step # 3 is like her step boxing workout. You might like Cardio Intervals #1 which is really cardio and the weights used are just really light weights, like 5#. She uses a step and it is very easy to follow. Her interval workouts vary in intensity and weights.

Doreen, Kickbox and bags is a fun one.

Belinda, I will check out your facebook in awhile. That is bad news for those growers.

Today I did Cathe Live Total Body Giant Sets from 6/30/16. What a fun workout, I was drenched with sweat doing this one. She mixes using dumbbells and barbells with this one, so it was really fun. It was Upper Body giant sets, Lower Body giant sets and Core giant sets.

GIANT SET 1 - Upper
3 times through - 12/12/8 reps
Overhead Press: 12's
Rear Delt Flies: 12's
Upright Rows: 12's
Triceps Extensions: 12's/15#/20#

GIANT SET 2 - Lower
2 times through - 12 reps
Side Slide Lunges: 12#
Squats: 15's
Deadlifts: 40# barbells
Slide Back Lunges: 12's
I only did about 10 reps with these, my hamstring really felt it today

GIANT SET 3 - Core
2 times through - 12 reps
Plank/One Arm Row: 15#
Elbow Situps
In/Out Plank w/Plates
- These about killed me
One-Arm Situps: 8's

GIANT SET 4 - Upper
3 times through - 12/12/8 reps
Barbell Biceps Curl: 25#
Hammer Curls: 15's/12's/15's
Lateral Raise: 5's/8's/8's - 16/16/8 reps
Pushups: 12/12/12 reps
Not much chest work in this workout, was kind of bummed about that

GIANT SET 5 - Lower
2 times through
Cross Slide Lunges: 10#
Wide Stance Deadlifts: 40# barbell
Alternate Diagonal Lunges: 12's
Plie Squats: 12's - 42 reps (lots of pulses)

GIANT SET 6 - Core
2 times through
Plank w/Kickbacks: 8#
Alternate Leg Raise: 8#
Spidermans w/plates - These killed me as well
Russian Twist: 10#

Fun workout, just wish there was more chest work. Workout was 62 minutes, burned 298 calories and HR was 113/158.

Doreen - Kick, box and bags sounds like a fun workout. I'm thinking I did that one, I'd have to check it out. Bummer that you had to quit running. I really love it and hoping to get back to it. I really need to figure out what is going on with my hamstring. I'm thinking I need it x-rayed.

Belinda - Nice going with your workout. You only have one more LIIFT4 workout right? I really liked that series and I know I will do it again.

Diane - I may try Kelly's Step #2 tomorrow, it sounds fun. I don't care much for her step boxing workouts, I cannot get the step part of these workouts. She does everything opposite what I'm used to. I may give it a try one of these days, though. Nice job with your workouts yesterday, that looked like a great combo!

Roselyn - Great job with your workout! Hope school is going good.

Roxie - How did you enjoy your trip? Hope it all went well. And I hope whatever is coming on Friday does not impact you all that much.

Jolie - Hope all is well, you didn't check in yesterday.

I think we lost DOZ. :(

Have great workouts everyone!!!

Good morning,

L4 Shoulder & Arm Circuit + 3 mile walk is done. It is cold outside.

Debbie - yes, tomorrow is my last workout. You ask me the other day what I will do next? Forgot to answer :( I really want to do 80 Day Obsession next. DH is hesitating, since the workouts are so long. He likes the 30 - 40 min workouts. We workout very early before he goes to work. I do prefer to get my workout early too. Great job today.

I will be back later. need to clean my house out.

This morning was 10-26-17 Metabolic Burn. This was a boredom buster for sure! 26 different exercises using weights, sliders, bands and bodyweight. Typical Cathe style moves where you lunge and fly or lunge and curl, etc. Lots of shoulders and biceps, not much tricep and back. It was fun - intermediate level at the weights she uses.

Debbie- I'm going to mark to try out that Giant sets workout- looks good! You'll get back into running - I just lost motivation to do so with all the other options available.... and my kids never took it up but they took up mountain biking so if we do something outside together we most likely do that.

No workout yesterday, had to go house hunting with my mom. The only one that even interests me is the one close to the beach. It is up for sale for $1.4 million dollars but I can lease it for $4500 a month. That is the best deal out there or other wise to go any cheaper I would have to be in about 1300 square feet or spend at least $6000 a month which is not happening! I cant believe I will be spending more to rent than what our mortgage is now. I keep telling myself this is for a year or so and then we will buy in a less expensive area close by. I want my kids to experience the beach living and get my youngest son through his senior year of high school with all of his friends. I hope it is available in a couple of weeks when I can sign a lease. WE have to make sure our house doesn't fall out of escrow before I sign any contract.

Today I did PHA 3, which I love and it was one hour and I burned 501 calories. I felt sick while doing it, stress and it is really hard!!!! Average heart rate was 126 and max was 168. I added ABS to the end of the workout.

Great job on all of your workouts, I have to run out and get some boxes.

Debbie, I do what I can do in terms of cardio as well since I have the toe and foot issue as well as the low back. Thats why I bought my eliptical, it makes running pain free for me! Do whatever works...

I will check back in later my friends.

I did gym style back, shoulders and biceps this morning then found out I had no school due to ice (YEAH) and did gym style chest and tris.

Do anyone of you use greens, like Amazing Grass?

Today I did Lite Cardio Party, 40 minutes, heart rate average 137, max 164, 283 calories, 3,799 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Boxing and Drills 30 minutes, 220 calories, met 8.3, 2,534 steps. I finished off with YouTube Sarah Beth energizing morning yoga burn 15 minutes, 38 calories, met 3.0. Total time was 85 minutes, calories burned 542, 6,333 steps. It never got over 24 degrees today.

Roselyn, Amazing Grass is my favorite greens powder. I like the Immunity tangerine one and the Antioxidant Berry one. Those are my favorite flavors. I have used other Green Vibrance which is a good amount of everything, but the flavor is not so good. I used to add some stevia and cinnamon to it. It is a pineapple flavor. I have tried quite a few and always end up back to Amazing Grass. Nice that you were able to get all of the upper body in today.

Roxie, I hope the ownership change goes smoothly.

Belinda, nice job on the workout. I have not looked at 80 day obsession. I don't mind longer workouts, but I like to decide which days I want longer and which that I want shorter. I checked out your facebook. That looks like something that will really be tough on the residents. Won't it make home sales go down when people try to leave? I would not want all of that industry so close.

Debbie, nice work on the Giant Sets. I remember that one. I have only done the Step 3 workout once. I will do it again soon. I think it has 4 short weight segments. I like the dvds because they have premixes where you can skip the weights. Generally on Raw she does not use fancy footwork. She does throw me off when she makes a mistake herself. Cathe does that once in awhile.

Jolie, I new housing prices were way up there where you are, but that is crazy. No way could we do that. You would be living in a mansion here. Living by the beach would be a fun experience. I hope things work out for you. Great calorie burn with PHA 3 today.

Good morning,

I just finished my last workout in L4 (TB HiiT) :) DH and I got great results, we couldn't be happier. I defiantly will revisit the program again. Looking forward, to 80 Day Obsession. I haven't decided if I take a recovery week next week or not. I probably should take a week of lifting.

Jolie - WOW, that's a lot of money :( You get a home like that in DC without a few of the ocean. The prices are insane. I keep my fingers crossed you find/get what you are looking for. Yes, renting/leasing is more than a mortgage. Both my kids pay over $2000 without anything for a one bedroom apartment. Nice cal burn yesterday.

Diane - the workouts in 80 Day Obsession range anywhere from 30 - 60 min. Every day is different.
The factory doesn't have all their permits yet. Citizens and lawyers are fighting hard to stop the nonsense. Less than an half of mile from an elementary school they are building the installation factory. It used to be an orchard. Their are organic famers/growers all over the area. We are surrounded by Wineries & Vineyards It will affect everything around. It will affect selling/buying homes, who wants to buy a home sucking up all those toxins? You can read more if you follow the link on FB, it will tell you everything on how it started & updates. It's a shame what money can buy.

I will check in later. Have a great day.

QUESTION: What kind of a doctor do you see for a hamstring issue? Anyone know?

I did the funnest workout today, OMG. I did Cathe Live Warrior Kickboxing from 5/11/17 and had the best workout. I loved it. It was a mix of kickboxing, using the bag and some HiiT and then some abs which was tough.

I am having issues with my waist now. Ever since this coughing crap, my waistline is so tight I can hardly turn to the side. I need to work on stretching that out and getting it back to normal. So doing this workout was really hard today because it's a lot of waist work involved. You really don't know how much you are working your waist with kickboxing until it hurts to do it. But I did the workout anyways and glad I did, it was really fun.

She wears her boxing gloves the whole time and I did that at the beginning but my FB has a hard time reading my HR when it's way up on my arm. So I took the gloves off for the last half of the kickboxing part and then put them on again for the bag part. The ab work used 5# dumbbells and it was tough. I didn't finish the ab work because my waist was really starting to hurt, plus I ran out of time.

Workout was 55 minutes, burned 328 calories (woo hoo!), HR was 126/198 and I did 4669 steps.

I will definitely be doing this one again, so fun!!!

Doreen - Metabolic Burn sounds like a great workout. How long was it? I certainly hope I can get back to running, although I am having fun with all the different cardio workouts I've been doing. Still miss running a lot. Great job on your workout yesterday!

Jolie - I am in utter shock of how much houses are in the area you are looking at. How on earth can anyone afford that? My house payment is $680 and I pay a $1,000 to get it paid off early. Our house is worth $125,000. Even the houses we are looking at near our lake is usually under $500,000 - and that's a lot in my book! Yikes! I could NOT imagine paying $2k for mortgage or rent. Unbelievable. Anyways, I sure hope you can find something and the one near the lake sounds beautiful!! It seems you guys can afford it, so I say go for it. What does PHA stand for? Those workouts sound interesting. Nice job! And I may be getting an elliptical at some point if this hamstring doesn't get better.

Roselyn - Wow, two Gym Style workouts, that is impressive. Those are not easy workouts. Nice job!!

Diane - Nice job on your workout yesterday. How do you use the Amazing Grass? Is it a protein powder? Or do you just mix it with water and drink it? Sounds interesting, I'll have to check them out.

Belinda - I'll be interested in your opinion on the 80 Day Obsession. You said they are an hour? It looked to me like they were more cardio based than lifting. Looking forward to hearing your reviews on them. Great job getting LIIFT4 done again! I got great results from it as well.

Have great workouts everyone!!!! We are all kicking so butt!

No workout today, I am taking a forced rest day. My lower back is so sore from bending over and packing boxes, I can barely bend over and put my shoes on lol!

Debbie, I would probably go to a sports Physical Therapist. The girl I follow with a similar injury, that is what she did and They did certain stretches to help he recover. I love Cathe Live Warrior Kickboxing workout, it is one of my favorites besides Hardstrikes.

Doreen, nice job on the Metabolic workout, I love those types of workouts because I get some great calorie burns.

Belinda, is the 80 day obsession a Beach Body workout? Great job with your previous rotation, I am glad you and your husband got great results!

Diane Sue, I cant believe how cold it is at your house going into March! We have a lot of rain coming again but it is a warmer front this time. It should be about 60 degrees here today with rain tonight. Nice job on the at workout yesterday!

Roselyn, What are you learning at school right now! I just got finished coloring and cutting my moms hair this morning, I used a high lift tint, 10 V and 10N with 30 volume cream lift and it came out a stunning ultra light blonde. I love to do color so much, you can an artist, its like painting and or creating something. Nice job on the Gym style workouts!

Roxie, how is the job going now that you have been there awhile?

Have a great day, lots to do!
