Ooops, sorry Belinda! Didn't see this. Happy Anniversary!! Wow, 37 years!! And you always seem so happy together, that is great! My husband and I will celebrate 25 years in April!

Today I should have done some sort of lifting workout and I was going to do another bootcamp workout but just didn't feel like it. I'm working from home today due to a bad snow storm we have going on right now (thank God for our wonderful boss!) so I had time to do a longer workout but I just didn't feel like doing weights today.

So instead I tried one of the workouts on my Max Trainer that is programmed into the machine. I haven't done any of those because I usually do the live workout with the Max Instructors. I figured I'd try one and see how it was. I chose Max Stairs and wow, what a workout. Only 15 minutes but it was tough. It takes you through increased resistance so each minute or it might have been 50 seconds you are at a different resistance. It starts out at a 4, then goes up to a 6, then 8 and then 12. 12 is like walking in quick sand. It changes the resistance itself, I didn't touch a thing. Pretty cool! My HR was up there. There are four of these circuits.

I enjoyed it but my FB didn't seem to know what I was doing. Every time I looked at my HR I was only in the lower 100's.

Workout was 19 minutes with a cool down, I burned only 83 calories yet my Max Trainer said 146 calories. I went .35 miles and did 905 steps. HR was 100/144. Good workout, I want to try the other ones that are on there as well.

I also walked on my treadmill at an incline of 4% and I did that for 30 minutes, burned 195 calories, went 1.42 miles and did 3465 steps. HR was 117/129.

Jolie - Just so you know, Kelly's boxing workouts have no kicking in them. She never does kick drills and I think I only remember one or two workouts where she had one circuit doing kicks and they were no where near how Cathe does them. You should try them out, it is all upper body. Glad you are looking forward to lifting today, I'm not feeling it lately. I think I'm just so sick of pulled muscles and knots that I just don't want to lift anymore. Very discouraging. I'm glad your parents live in such a nice place, it is like pulling teeth to get my mom to listen to leaving that house. She doesn't want to hear of it.

Roselyn - Happy Birthday. So sorry it is a sad one for you. I know it's hard. Hugs to you!

Diane - I really liked the Heavy Bag and Cardio workout, the front of my shoulders are sore today, but in a good way. I can't wait to try the others. The leg one looks good. Believe me, my brother and I have tried talking my mom into moving to a smaller home. In fact, my grandmother's house was up for sale not long ago, just a few houses down from where my mom lives now, it is only one floor and very cozy. My mom didn't want to hear of it. I was bummed, she would love it there once she got used to it - and she knows the house since we spent so much time there when I was growing up (it was my dad's mom's house). I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I do remember you telling us about that at the time. My husband and I will be moving to a smaller house soon, hopefully near the lake, because I don't want to be climbing stairs when I'm 80. I love this house, we've rebuilt it ourselves since we've lived here, but it's just too big for us now and I can't keep up with the cleaning. I want something cozy and small with one extra room where I can have my workout stuff in. Hopefully it will all work out.

Roxie, Belinda & Doreen - Have great workouts today!

Gotta get to work!! Have a great day!

Debbie - I was waiting for you to start the thread this morning, lol. Thank you! Yeah, 37 years is a long time. Wow, on your 25 years. Are you guys doing anything special? DH and I will once covid is over to travel to Europe for a few month. DH wanted to go out for dinner but I decided to eat at home instead. We probably go out this weekend. It's cold outside.

Today I am starting something new thing along with starting STS. I am going to become a runner. Yes, you read that correctly. I have always wanted to be a runner but because of my back issues it has always been a dream, but today it becomes a reality. I meet a run trainer who lives in my neighborhood and she has given me the tools to do it and yes you can be a runner on an elliptical. I told her my goal was weight loss and peace of mind, I need an outlet to release stress without killing my body. I love walking but you sure have to walk a lot to see results and then it hurts my feet and knees. So, if I start running for weight loss, she said i have to work up to only 30 minutes per day or every other day. Today she had me start after my STS workout, Disc #2, Back and Triceps. I had a fantastic workout, I lifted heavy and boy was I feeling it! Workout as about an hour and I burned 354 calories. Next, I got on the elliptical and did an interval workout, 20 seconds all out sprint on higher resistance and a higher incline and 40 seconds recovery, with a lower resistance and a lower incline. I did this for 11 minutes. Yes, that was hard enough to start out. I traveled 1.1 miles, burned a total of 141 calories. My heart rate for the entire workout today was 119/171. I feel great. My knee didnt hurt because I put on the knee strap for support, it really works, I had very little pain. Total calorie burn today was 495 calories.

Debbie, Great job on the Max Trainer workout today. You and I did basically the same type of workout, doesnt it feel good to really work hard? I will try some of Kelly's boxing workouts, are those on the RAW channel? Do I just sign up on her website like Cathe and find them right there?

Belinda, Happy Anniversary! Nice job on the workout today. I loved disc 2 today, it is a great workout! We have to get some abs in so I will pull out some sort of ab workout on my cardio days.

Roselyn, Happy birthday! Your dad is celebrating with you :)

BBL to read your posts after this one. Have a wonderful day.

Today my workout was split. I was getting so irritated with my Fit Bit. I did Body Max 2 cardio premix for 24 minutes ( I had to stop for zoom class) 24 minutes, 102/131 heart rate, 98 calories, 2,335 steps. It was just not getting my heart rate up till at the last when I undid my Fit bit and put it back on. I got my grandson downstairs for zoom and it was not working so we went on to do work, then the teacher messaged that she was doing it at 10. I went back and did 4 Day Split Higher Intensity Cardio, 33 minutes, 116/150 heart rate, 2,854 steps 142 calories. I finished off with Coffey Fit Raw abs finisher, 9 minutes, 43 calories, heart rate 102/134. Total time was 76 minutes, 283 calories, 5,540 steps.
I had an arthritis appointment tomorrow, but changed it to the end of the month. That way school is out, plus I am coughing and sneezing and allergies are bad since the heat has started running.

Belinda, Happy 37th Anniversary. I bet you are looking forward to going to Europe when this virus is done. We spent our anniversary in March sitting at home. I don't care for going out to restaurants right now. My husband wanted to go to one we usually go to on Sunday and they closed down :( I am not sure if it is permanent. My son told us they shut down. There is more than one of them in the area. I don't know if they all closed. To me having to throw on a mask to go to dinner kind of kills the pleasantness. I do feel sorry for owners.

Doreen, I really like Kelly's Step and legs workout. I have done that one and the one that is just the step a few times now.

Debbie, Nice job with the Max Trainer. It sounds like a tough workout. Fitbit does not know what it is doing. I kept looking at mine and seeing below 100. Then it vibrated and popped up I had hit my peak or something. You know the cardio on Body Max. There was not way it was as low as it showed. I ride the spin bike and work hard and even with me entering spin, it does not give me much. I bet the treadmill seems easy after you have done the Max Trainer. My husband wants to get rid of stairs because we are getting older and approaching our 70s. It is hard to uproot people from their comfort zone. I do not like change that much.
The front of my shoulders and my triceps have been sore. I was a bit worried about the heavy bag, but it did not cause any extra soreness afterward. I want to do more of them. We have remodeled and done a lot of changes on this house and fixed about everything in it. I kind of hate to leave it. Sorry you cannot convince
your mother about moving.
I have just been using light dumbbells instead of the egg weights. Those things are not cheap. Some time I
might change my mind, but I generally use dumbbells, weight gloves, or if I am just more interested in my waistline and increasing intensity I wear my 4# vest that I bought. I have wrapped my hands around my 1 lb dumbbells that have handles, and cannot imagine that the egg weights would give much of a different feel. Most of the ladies on the facebook check in seem to have purchased and really like using them.

Jolie, I think that you would really like the Raw boxing workouts. I also think that you would like the boxing and upper weight mixed workouts. They are a lot of fun. That is great that you found someone to help you become a runner.

Today I did Kelly's RAW Weights 1 In the Garage althought it's just called Weights 1 now. Took me forever to find it and figure that out. LOL!! Great workout, I really love this one.workout. However, there is something major going on with my left side. My shoulder, triceps, upper back feels like it's all on fire. I was fine until I did this workout so obviously, something is going on and I need figure it out. I have flexibility, although there is tightness in the top of my shoulder. I may have overstretched my triceps, this happened a while ago but now seems to be an issue. When this COVID crap is over (when will that be?) I think I'll make an appointment to have an x-ray done. I don't know what to do anymore, nothing seems to help for long.

Tabata style, 25 seconds on/10 seconds off. 8 rounds each exercise. I went light today.

Biceps
Dumbbell Curls:
12's (4 rounds)
Hammer Curls: 12's(4 rounds)
(alternated between the two)
BW Squats - Check

Shoulders
Shoulder Press:
20# (used only one dumbbell so it was more of a front shoulder exercises) - 4 rounds
Upright Row: 15# (she one arm at a time) - 4 rounds
(alternated between the two)
BW Alternate Lunges - Check

Back
Lawnmowers:
15#/20#/15#/15#
BW Curtsy Lunges

Triceps
Overhead Triceps Extensions:
15# (4 rounds)
Alternating Kickbacks: 8# (4 rounds)
(Alternated between the two)

Lower Body
Squats:
12's (4 rounds)
Curtsy Squats: S12's (4 rounds)
(Alternate between the two)

Chest
Dumbbell Flies:
12's for 4 rounds
Dumbbell Press: 12's for 4 rounds
(Alternated between the two) - this was painful towards the end, and not a good painful

Planks: 8 rounds of different types but I only did 6

Abs
Crunches
- 4 rounds
Reverse Crunch - 4 rounds

I've done this workout several times and always skip the leg portion due to time. Glad I got it in today, felt great!!! Workout was 56 minutes, burned 356 calories (holy cow, what's that all about?), HR was 126/186. Did 1225 steps.

Belinda - I forgot it was December when I posted yesterday. LOL! Days are flying by. We'd like to go to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary. He has a sister that lives out there but not sure we will be able to with COVID. Maybe by May this will be more under control. We'll see.

Jolie - So you are "running" on your elliptical, not your treadmill? That is great that you are going to do this, but there is a HUGE difference from actually running versus the elliptical. I've done both, and there is a big difference. However, that being said, I think using the elliptical is much safer on all the joints involved. I enjoy using my Max Trainer as a substitution for running. My knees no longer hurt, my hamstring is fine. So GOOD FOR YOU!! I almost want to do it with you. If you have a running plan, can you let me know what it is? Maybe I will follow along with you. Nice job yesterday, that was a great couple of workouts you did!! I use the RAW workouts on Roku using the VHX app. However, Diane said her VHX app doesn't work for her anymore so I'm not sure how you would use it. It's worth getting, though, I know you would love her workouts.

Roselyn - I agree, you need to post your weights. :) Great job on your workout!! Hope you had a nice birthday.

Diane - I totally ignored my FB today and look at the calorie burn I got. I am trying not to let that get to me anymore, it really distracts me from my workouts when I keep looking at it to make sure it's seeing my HR. I honestly don't think the FB is any more accurate than those old chest strap ones we used to wear. I think they all suck. LOL!! Nice workouts yesterday, though, you are kicking it lately. I don't have eggweights, nor will I buy them. I have soft 1# dumbbells and love them. I think I ordered them off of Amazon and they were cheap. They have sand in them so they conform to your hands and they are easy to hold. I have hot pink ones.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Debbie- Weights 1 looks good.... I'm going to try it later.

Jolie- Good job on your plan to run- I often miss running and wonder if I should try to pick it up again. I have a workout program on PDF that has sprint workouts that I've never tried.

Diane - I pretty much ignore my FB heartrate too.... its so unpredictible.

This morning I did RAW Intervals 5 skipped the cooldown and did Ripped & Ride October. Great workouts!

As for the eggweights I have little metal bars that came out of an old set of ankle weights that are about 3/4 # and they work great for holding for boxing because they are a little bit shorter in length than dumbells.

Today was cardio so I started out with a 2.2 mile fast walk outside all hills, 40 minutes, 404 calories burned. Next, I did my run segment on my elliptical and it was hard since I walked first. Workout was 11 minutes, same as yesterday, interval sprints, and I traveled 1.2 miles, and burned 148 calories. I then walked on my TM for 3 minutes for a cool down. I feel fantastic. Total workout time was 54 minutes and I burned 552 calories. Heart rate was 122/189. That number seems high but I was gasping for air during the sprints.

Debbie, I know that running on my elliptical is not the same as the TM or outside but I will never be able to do that with my back and foot issues so I am doing whatever I can so this is it. My trainer friend said there is nothing wrong to use the elliptical, especially at my age since I could never take that kind of impact. I guess I am a hybrid runner :) I just want to commit to something other than doing weight lifting workouts, walking, kickboxing and rowing . I want to see what happens to my body when I stick to something that is very hard for me to do. So far I have no pain or injury since there is 0 impact. My plan is to run at least 4 days per week, increasing each week by 2 minutes. Right now I am doing the interval sprints and I suppose I will sdo some steady state mixed in. My friend is going to write up a plan for me but she said to keep it simple to start, it is just about getting it done the first month and making it a habit. She said my body will grave to run and it will become easier. Nice workout today. I will check into do some of the RAW workouts, I just need to figure out how to do them on the computer.

Doreen, I feel really great after I did my run, something about sweating makes me happy. Run with me!

Diane Sue, Man, I dont know how you can focus to workout with the Zoom meetings you have to deal with each day! Good for you on getting that workout done yesterday with all of the interruptions.

Roselyn, your not doing STS? I am really enjoying doing them again, I love Cathe's older workouts more than her newer ones.

BBL to read your posts for the day. It is 78 degrees here today and I have all of the doors and windows open, it is so nice out! :)

Hi everyone,

I had an ENT appointment this morning. I was very sad when I came out of the ENT. She said I have PR on my right ear as well :( I have to call to make an appointment for a scan on my sinus, first they want to do a scan than an MRI. She wants me to get a 45 min audiology test and schedule other tests. I have an appointment with my Rheumatologist soon.

STS D2 is done!

Sorry, I will catch up on personal tomorrow. I had a long day.

Today I did Coffey Fit Raw heavy bag Cardio. This was a lot of fun and the music was fun. I get a kick out of Kelly when she wants to dance to the music. I like that she has different heavy bag workouts. I almost did the Heavy Bag Arms one, but then when I checked out the start she does triceps, heavy bag, shoulders, heavy bag, then biceps and I think another heavy bag segment. I may have been okay, but thought since I did the heavy bag lower one Monday I decided to wait. I have have been doing pretty well this week with the neck and shoulders, but then I have not been on the computer for lengthy times. Too much to do. The heavy bag cardio was 48 minutes, 230 calories, heart rate 125/163, 3,775 steps. I finished with Perfect 30 mobility strength timesaver 10 minutes, 13 calories, 88/141 which was a crazy blip otherwise it was 105, 17 steps. Total time was 58 minutes, 247 calories, 3,792 steps. Also I think Kelly's reminders to keep the shoulders down helps me not hurt my neck area so much.
Funny, I got up this morning my Fitbit said I had two and a half hours of sleep. It would not sync this morning and after syncing twice to get my workouts, it still said 2 and a half hours. I looked to do this check in and it now says 5 hours 41 minutes. I just figured it was figuring all of the times I woke coughing and got another lozenge counted as awake. It sure has been extra whacky.
I agree on ignoring the Fitbit. Sometimes I just do the workout and enjoy it without letting the Fitbit torment me throughout.

Debbie, we will have our 50th anniversary a little over 2 years from now. I cannot believe it has been that long.
Hawaii would be fun. I really like in the Garage. I have done it a few times as well, but all of it. I always figure when I am having that burning sensation, that it is the inflamed area putting pressure on a nerve. We aggravate it and it causes more inflammation. I finally broke down and went for my physical. I just kept thinking things would get better with covid and then I would go. It might help getting an x ray and finding what is causing the problem. I have two and 3 # sand weights, but I feel they are a bit large. When I did URX MT on the rebounder Amy Bento used them for the boxing and boot camp workouts and they made my hands hurt wrapping them around them. It seems those would do the same thing.

Belinda, I am so sorry. I hope the tests offer a bit of something that will be positive for getting help. I changed my Arthritis appointment so I did not have to rush since it is further away. I also made my mammogram appointment as my doctor was checking to see if I had done it yet. I made it two days before Christmas. The grandchildren will be out for the holidays then.

Doreen, I have ankle weights with the iron bars in them. I had not thought of using those. I have thought of pulling packets out of the Cathe 20# vest and using them. I am not sure how much those weigh. Actually they are already out because I used it at the 12# weight that it is without the added weight, for some of Kelly's workouts.

Jolie, nice work today with the run training along with the walking. Way to go. I use the Fire TV stick and Kelly's App. You can run them off of your computer as well. Also I have her app on my tablet and I can run them off of it too. Just go to Kelly's site coffeyfit.com and there is a place there to subscribe and a link to how tos. It was easy to set up. It is just that for some reason VHX decided to change how they worked, so a lot of the women who were using Roku lost the ability to run the app. Mine was still working like Debbie's does, but my husband decided to clear out what he did not watch and he deleted youtube and the VHX app. I could not get it back after that. I researched and asked Kelly and no you cannot do it on roku with vhx anymore. I do not know why some still have it running.

Roselyn, hope things are going well.

Today I did another programmed Max Trainer workouts, really enjoying these. This one was Max Intervals. This one was alternating 25 second sprints with 80 seconds of recovery. I remember trying this on the first day that I got my MT and I about died with the first two intervals. I've come a long way. I found this pretty easy and had to up the resistance to get to a winded point. I can't wait to try the other ones that are programmed in.

The programmed workout was 15 minutes but I cooled down so it was a total of 17 minutes, burned 108 calories (MT said 139), went .45 miles, did 1118 steps and HR was 123/164.

Then I walked on my treadmill for 26 minutes, burned 164 calories, went 1.25 miles, did 3056 steps and HR was 116/129.

Doreen - You will love Weights #1, very good and fun workout.

Jolie - Nice job on your workout yesterday. I would really like to do this with you. How do your sprints go? How many seconds for the sprint and how many seconds rest? Were you doing 20/40? If so, that is tough. I did one similar this morning but the rests were longer. I hope you weren't mad about what I wrote with the ellipitical being way different than actual running. I didn't mean to diminish what you are trying to do. Not at all. I apologize if that is how you felt. Anyways, would you mind sharing with me your training schedule? If I can figure out how to do my MT manually, I will try and follow you. You are kicking some @ss!!!

Belinda - I'm so sorry you are going through all of these health issues, I really hope you start feeling better soon. That really has to suck. Take care my friend!!

Diane - I loved Boxing and Cardio, I actually used the warmup this morning before I got on my MT. I want to try the other boxing ones as well, I will do another one next week. Wow, 50 years, that seems like such a feat now a days. That is awesome! I'm hoping to celebrate that milestone with my husband in another 25 years. Scary thinking about that much time, I wonder what this world will be like by then? Yes, the FB's are discouraging. I once again did not look at it when I was on my MT or TM. I was less anxious because of it.

Roselyn - Hows the new job going? Are you enjoying it?

Take care everyone!! Have a great day!!

I did a YT Step with Giana this morning. She is so funny - she had some Christmas jokes this morning that were cheesy and cute! One combo today I was having trouble getting the feel for. That rarely happens for me in step!!

Just a quick check in, it is after midnight and I need to be in bed. Busy day today here. I did Perfect 30 mix high impact hiit +pyramid cardio hiit, + extended stretch. Not sure if it was all of that jumping, or stress, but my neck and shoulder blades are hurting tonight. My workout was 49 minutes, 221 calories, heart rate 121/164, 3,708 steps. That is all I had time for. I will check back tomorrow.

I had a couple great workouts this morning, I feel really good. I really pushed myself. I started off with another Max Trainer programmed workout called Max Fat Burn. OMG, this was hard. It starts at a resistance of 8 and continues to go up to a 12 and then after like 5 minutes of that it drops to a resistance of 4. Then it goes up again until it reaches a resistance of 14 which is just like walking in quick sand - it was really hard. The last minute was at a 4. LOL!!

Workout was 17 minutes, burned only 91 calories after all that, my MT said 146, went .33 miles, did 818 steps and HR was 115/162.

Then I did RAW Just Step 4 and used my 1# hand weights. This one mixes boxing and step moves and it is really fun. I loved it and was drenched by the time I was done. Love that this workout is 30 minutes on the nose.

Workout was 31 minutes, burned 223 calories, did 3139 steps and HR was 134/152.

Belinda - Great job keeping up with your workouts even though you are going through some crap right now. I don't know you do it. When I'm not feeling good I just say screw it. Hope you have a great workout today and I hope you are feeling better.

Roselyn - So glad you are loving your job, I'm so happy for you!

Doreen - Great job with your workout, sounds like a fun one.

Diane - So sorry you had such a busy day yesterday and then got to bed late, hopefully you slept good. My left side (upper back, shoulder, tricep) is still hurting today, I wonder what is going on there? I probably should make an appointment and get it checked out. I used my massager thing last night and wow, there was a huge knot right below my shoulder blade, it hurt really bad. It broke up a bit but I can still feel it there today. I took an Aleve as well, it is not feeling too bad this morning. So sick of this as I'm sure you are as well.

Jolie - Check out my post to you above from yesterday. Hope you had a great rest day!!

Have great workouts everyone!!

Good morning,

STS W1 D3 legs plus SBF 21 Day Countdown to Christmas D5 Christmas upper body = 15 min + Christmas Express Stretch = 12 min is done.

Debbie - working out makes me not to think about all my health problems. I been very down since I saw the ENT. Working out lifts my mood. I have an appointment with my Rheumatologist on the 16th. I also have appointments with Audiology on the 11th and CT scan on the 12th.

Roslyn - thank you!

Yesterday was my rest day. Today I was supposed to do STS Legs but I have decided against it because I do NOT want to aggravate my knees so I cant do my running. Also, if I walk and run a lot during the week, I dont think that I need a whole workout dedicated to legs right now. I think I will put in a total body workout in that slot instead so I hit the legs but not for such a long period of time. I like CL Vertical Loading a lot so I may do that one tomorrow. Today I did my walk and run, 45 minute 2.2 miles walk outside, and then I did my Elliptical run for 11 minutes, this time I did 2 minute intervals, 2 minutes up on a high incline to work the glutes on a higher resistance and then 2 minutes low incline, lower resistance. I did really good with it today, it is getting easier. Lastly, I cooled down on my TM for 3 minutes. Total workout time was 1 hour and I burned 548 calories. Heart rate was 138/176.

Debbie, there is NO way that what you said came off bad, I know we all try to give each other suggestions :) I just know with all my terrible body troubles that this will be the closest thing to being a runner so I am going with it. My neighbor/run trainer said " do what works for you, it is better than not doing it". She also said that if it improves your health in any way it is the right thing to do. About 10 years ago I used to run on my elliptical for 1 hour 2 times per week or more and I was in the best shape of my life. I would do STS on the alternating days and my body fat was so low. I obviously will not do it for that long anymore but I want to work up to about 40 minutes which works out to be about 4 miles on my elliptical. Nice job with your workout today. I love using our equipment that we have instead of just looking at it while we do other workouts. :) Do you feel happy after you do your Max Trainer? When I run I really feel happy afterwards. I think next week I am supposed to do steady state running at a faster pace and I add 2 minutes. I will find out. Do it with me, what ever program on your machine you do.

Roselyn, I am so glad you are joining Belinda and I with STS, I am loving it.

Diane Sue, you are staying up way too late at night! I go to bed before 9pm every night no matter what!!! Great job getting a workout in and I hope you slept good last night :)

Doreen, great job doing the step workout, i cannot do those, I get motion sickness except for the step that Yvette does with no fast turns.

Belinda, I follow a young trainer on Instagram that has Lyme disease and some auto immune disorders and she talks a lot about natural supplements that work for her. You should check her out. ginavallesfit I really like what she has to say and her workouts are amazing. Nice job on STS legs, that doesn't bother your knees? Good for you :) What are you doing for cardio tomorrow?

We had a huge fire again yesterday so my allergies are really bothering me again today. Wow, this fire season is unreal. I think they have it under control because the sky is not totally brown today.

Happy Friday and Cheers!
