Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check-In for July, 2019

Today I did Kelly Coffey Strength and Stamina warm up and bonus step, 28 minutes, heart rate average 143, max 178, 2,672 steps, met 7.5, 196 calories followed by the workout challenge which was Raw Upper Sculpt lower tone with 3# dumbbells and 8# ankle weights, 50 minutes, heart rate average 123, max 171, 243 calories, 1,849 steps. Total time was 78 minutes, calories burned 444, 4,521 steps. I have to go out and run some errands for my husband and do some house cleaning catch up since tomorrow will be busy and dh is home. I will check back in awhile.

A quick check in today, I have a house full of guys all back from college, my house is crazy right now! No sleep last night people were here visiting till 3:00am, they are all back from school and were dying to catch up with each other. It was so loud from all of the laughter that I couldn't sleep. I have to get a good nights sleep tonight or I will be dead tomorrow for the 4th of July.

Today I took my dog for a 1.6 mile walk burning 256 calories, and then I got on my elliptical and ran 3 miles, 32 minutes and burned 327 calories. My hip is a little sore but boy it felt great to move again! I cant believe how easy it was to run 3 miles, I surprised my self! Total calories burned was 583 calories. So far I feel good so hopefully I can do it again tomorrow.

Great workouts everyone!

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July, I am going to the beach and then watching fireworks from my balcony. What are you all doing? I am making a Chinese chicken salad to take to the beach for lunch. yum

Happy 4th of July,

I am watching my son's 2 dogs over the 4th of July, just got a walk in. I may do another workout later?

July - glad you starting to feel a little better. My son dropped off his 2 dogs.DH and I are staying home and watch the dogs. My son's Beagle is scared of the fireworks, I have to keep her calm today.
Hope you got some sleep last night. Great job on the walk yesterday.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in today.

I will be back later.

When I was working out a lady went jogging by my window holding an America flag. That was so damn cool!!! Don't know who she was though.

I had a great cardio(S) workout today!! I am sweating like crazy still. Not sure what is going on with my left foot, though, the muscle running down the middle bottom of it was really tight and hurting and burning pretty bad. I'm going to roll it out with my tennis ball in a bit. WTH? Shoes maybe?

I first did Cathe Live's 2015 Road Trip Kickboxing Class #61 and had a blast. Very fun workout and it was only kickboxing which is what I wanted to do. I think Belinda did this one not too long ago. Not too high impact, but some. I liked it.

Workout was 45 minutes, burned 378 calories and did 4879 steps. HR was 145/189.

Then I did Kelly's Meltdown Boxing workout. Another one I love and haven't done for a while. I am getting good with mountain climbers, I've been doing then a lot.

Workout was 31 minutes, burned 231 calories and did 2761 steps. HR was 136/180.

DOZ - Great job getting that workout in yesterday!! You killed it yet again!

Diane - Great going with your workout yesterday. I have been busy with housework and errands as well, it's getting old. LOL! Have a great 4th!

Jolie - So good to see you getting back to it already. Amazing how quickly you healed. I'm impressed with your chiropractor. Hope your son and his friends let you sleep last night. I would have kicked them out! LOL! Glad he's home. Is he back for the summer now?

Belinda
- Hope you have a wonderful 4th! Good job on your walk.

Happy 4th to all! Hope you all have a great day. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Today I did Kelly's Build and Burn Cardio Core, heart rate 140 average, max 170, met 7.5, 191 calories, 27 minutes, 1,962 steps. Coffey Fit Raw Boxing and Drills wearing an 8# vest, heart rate average 142, max 178, 29 minutes, 2,484 steps, met 8.0, 210 calories. I finished with Raw stretch stopping at 23 minutes, 44 calories, 37 steps. 80 minutes total time, 445 calories, 4,483 steps. I have been so busy that eating has been forgotten quite a lot till I am really hungry and I end up eating a nutrition bar so I can keep going. I have lost 2# this week. My husband bought a Harley today and is out with my grandson helping him learn to ride the motorcycle he bought a couple of weeks ago. He is still timid with it and needs to learn to shift through gears. I doubt we do much today. Most of the time we just stay in on the fourth. We used to having family gatherings, but as we have moved away and back, everyone has developed other plans.

Jolie, nice to have the boys all there even though it is loud and probably no rest ;) It sounds like you are doing much better. I have had so little time for making up recipes etc. . Maybe soon I will :) The salad sounds yummy. Have fun this 4th with your beach walk and family.

Debbie, nice job on the cardio work. That is so cool that that lady was doing her run with the American flag. Do you buy orthotics for your shoes? I used to dread mountain climbers, but now they are easy to me. I have a bone spur in my left foot, which rarely bothers me, but lately once in awhile I think I am stepping on something and nothing is there so I figure it is that. I bought some new Superfeet Carbon Sport Shoe Carbon Fiber Performance insoles. They have helped a lot. On reading reviews and what they are supposed to do, they supply more cushioning in the forefoot. I roll my feet all of the time, foam roller or my therapy balls. I used the foam roller when I had pf years ago and it really helped me get past it. I balanced on it and rocked back and forth while blow drying my hair.
God Bless America Land of the Free!! My home! I hope you have a wonderful 4th.

Belinda, nice that you got a walk in. Have fun with the dogs today, and enjoy your 4th of July :)

Happy 4th of July! Today I ran 4.37 miles on the elliptical, interval mode, 42 minutes and I burned 439 calories. Then I picked up very lite weights and worked each body part, basic exercises and then stretched. It feels so good to move again. I cant believe how easy running is for me since I haven't done it in a long time. I bet I will sleep good tonight! :) We ended up not going to the beach, no parking and we got going so late. My youngest son went camping and my oldest went to a party so we went out for lunch, split a burger and truffle fries, my favorite and a cocktail, I'm done and it is only 3:30pm! I will enjoy the rest of the day on the deck, I got a new fire place table and a fountain so it is really pretty and watch the rest of Wimbledon. I hope you all have a great day and great job on the workouts!

God Bless America and being a FREE and not a Socialist Country! Freedom feels good to me!

I did a workout blender at the park yesterday morning, IMAX 3 step sections with STS total body weight moves (I used my sandbag instead of a dumbell). It worked quite well. The video pauses a couple seconds before switching clips but that might be the 4G instead of wifi.

Then my sister and family came over for lunch. They were headed to fireworks and my son went with his friends to fireworks but we just started a fire and listed to fireworks from our patio.

This morning I did Cathe Live #185 - Upper body. I think this week has been too much cardio and I have to take my son to a golf tournament this afternoon so that will be about 5 miles of walking!

Today I did Body Beast: Build - Shoulders. Had an excellent workout!!! Shoulders are burning. I went up in weight in almost all exercises.

Standing Dumbbell Shrug: 15's/20's/25's/20's -15/12/8/8 reps
Dumbbell Scap Trap: 12.5's/15's/15's (I did Hip Huggers)

Workout was 48 minutes, burned 390 calories, did 1834 steps and HR was 146/191.

Then I got on Max Trainer and did the Max 10 Minute Peak Burn w/Amy Dixon. Love this one, it is HARD!!! Workout was 14 minutes, burned 111 calories, went .35 miles, did 919 steps and HR was 133/160.

My legs are looking so good lately and I do think it's my Max Trainer doing that. Also doing leg workouts but I really feel the burn with the MT. My legs look better than they did when I was running.

Had a great workout week, I am feeling really good!!!

Diane - Nice job with Build & Burn, I love those workouts, need to pull them out again. Too many workouts, so little time. And wow, doing the Boxing & Drills with your weighted vest, I bow down to you!! Great job! Yes, I wear Spenco insoles, I have very flat feet (thanks dad!) Maybe I need new ones but these aren't that old and they usually last a long time. I guess I'll use my therapy ball and roll them out, I just don't think of it unless they are hurting.

Jolie - Nice job with the Elliptical, 4 miles is amazing. What do you do on it? Do you sprint or just move at a quick pace? I can do that with my Bowflex but haven't tried yet. I like the workouts that comes with it. You got a great calorie burn doing that! Bummer on the no parking at the beach, were you able to see fireworks from you balcony? We didn't see any other than what's on the TV. I don't care for the crowds, etc. We watched Trump's Salute to America, that was really good.

DOZ - Great job on your workout! I hurt my hamstring back in October and haven't ran since. It still bothers me every now and then so I'm afraid to try running for fear it might pull again. I'm having fun with kickboxing and my Max Trainer, though, so all is good. :)

Doreen - Nice job on your workout with Cathe today!! Have fun at the golf tournament! Hope it's not too brutally hot for you.

Belinda - Hope all is good with you. Have a great day!

Roxie - Hope you are doing well also. What workouts have you done?

Have a great weekend everyone!

No workout today, I am dead tired from staying up too late and I want to rest today, I am not pushing it with my back. I cant believe how tired I was yesterday from running:) , in a good way. I feel so bad when I don't workout. When my son is home from college, too many people sleep over and stay up late and I don't get enough sleep. He goes back on Sunday so my life will go back to normal. I have my parents coming into town tomorrow for a BBQ so I have to get up early if I want to workout.

Debbie, I love that you are seeing results with your legs!!!!! I am doing intervals on the elliptical, 2 minutes of high resistance and higher incline, switching to 2 minutes of lower resistance and lower incline. It is very effective and I burn a lot of calories. I should be getting my TMill fixed soon, I had to order a new motor and I look forward to walking a steep incline. My big butt needs it! Great job on the shoulders workout today. I missed Trumps celebration yesterday, so bummed, but what a turn out! I will watch it on YouTube today. I love him, what a leader! I got on that machine you have when I went to Dicks Sporting Goods, boy is that a burner!!!!!! Loved it.

Belinda, what a kick a## workout you did today! That looks like so much fun and boy I bet it is effective. If I did that workout, I would be sore for a week!

Doreen, have a great time at the golf tourni and good job on the workout in the park.

DOZ, killing it with the STS Leg workout again!

Have a nice day everyone.

Jolie, it sounds like you had a peaceful and relaxing day yesterday. Yes, I would imagine going to the beach on the 4th would be more crowded than normal. Yes, I am glad to be free. I don't get it on wanting to turn us into a communist nation. Nothing ever good came out of that in history. What are they teaching out there these days anyway?

Doreen, it sounds like you got a good workout in at the park. Sometimes just sitting at home is nice ;)

Debbie, I bet you are right about the Max Trainer making changes to your legs. My legs get so much more tired with the Tread Climber. I am usually pretty well done after 20 to 30 minutes unless I just walk at a slow pace. Kelly has the Run with me raw workout coming up soon. I have never done it. I think maybe it is this weekend, but my husband and I workout at the same time on weekends so I will have to postpone it if I want to use the Tread Climber instead of the spin bike. To be honest I prefer Ripped and Ride where I don't have to spend a real long amount of time without a break. Although I checked and Run is Tabata Rounds and kelly steps off onto the running boards for breaks. I have usually used Footminders inserts for years, and tried the green super feet once and felt they were uncomfortable. Then I was talking to someone recently that really liked the blue ones and I went and looked up the different ones. That is when I decided on the ones I got. They are yellow and grey. They are really comfortable. I felt I needed something else. Footminders last a long time, but I do wear them out in the toe area over time. They are half the cost of Super Feet. Anyway, my foot feels much better now. I think jumping and running around without enough cushioning was starting to cause problems. It is so easy to forget taking care of an area when it is not bothering us. We watched Trumps Salute to America too. It was really good and he spoke of a lot of history. Nice workout today:)

Belinda, that is one long workout when you do upper and lower body. I like the upper better than the lower.

Jolie, it is hard to be enthusiastic about working out when you are lacking sleep. I was down to 5 hours last night and dragging all day. I really should be in bed now, but am still trying to transfer things from my old laptop to my new one.

Roxie, nice that you got a workout in. I hope you enjoyed the fireworks with your grandson.

Good Morning,

I did KCM Build and Burn Kettlebell Kickbox Fusion and her new Ab Finisher just the standing portion. I did the workout for today last week so decided to do something different.

Then I did an upper body workout that I put together, easy moves on the back and had a good workout. I put together 2 circuits and repeated each one 2 times. I did 16 reps for each exercise. Total calorie burn for the entire workout was 575.

Chest Press- 20's x 16 Repeat Circuit
Narrow Grip Pull Downs- 60# x 16
Lateral Raise- 8's x 16
Bicep Curls- 15's x 16
Lying Triceps Ext.- 12's x 16

Chest Flies- 15's x 16 Repeat Circuit
Wide Grip Pull Downs- 50# x 16

Have a wonderful day, we are BBQing with my parents.

Earthquake update. I had just fallen asleep last night when the 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit. I bolted out of bed, just a reflex because am not sure how earthquake proof this house is, and made it to the balcony on the side of the house that faces the street. All of the neighbors were outside with their dogs because they go crazy when the tremors hit. Needless to say, I strained my low back but I iced it all day and it is feeling a lot better. No real issues this far south from the earthquake, but we had after shocks all night long. I should have known we were going to have one, I was irritable all day long, which I always am when there is an earth quake and the dogs never stopped barking either. Dogs have a very keen sense for these things, pay attention to your pets and what they are trying to tell us. All is good, I just hope there isn't another one.

Today I did Coffey Fit Raw Step 3, 44 minutes, 341 calories, met 8.5, heart rate 143 average, 178 max, 4,218 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Ab Finisher that Kelly just put up, 19 minutes, heart rate average 100, max 132, met 3.5, 61 calories, 376 steps. I finished off with Kelly's Boot Camp bonus stretch, 19 minutes, met 2.5, 42 calories, 79 steps. Total time was 82 minutes, 444 calories, 4,673 steps.

Roxie, that is the way with me. I already did the Raw Challenge workout yesterday and I really did not want to do Sculpting RX. I was sore today from that Cardio weight Tabata workout.

Doreen, nice work getting in the yoga. I hope you enjoyed the golf tournament.

Belinda, I like the Ice Boot camp circuit workout. Nice work.

Jolie, I have been hearing about the earthquakes. We have family that lives out there. Yes, dogs do seem to have some sense as to what is coming. Gertie, moves upstairs when storms are coming in. I don't know why she feels better upstairs instead of down though. It seems that those things tend to happen at night. I remember being woke up by earthquakes when I lived in Ca.. I wake up to the little ones here. They seem to have slowed down, since there was a lot of talk about fracking causing it.
I hope you are okay after jumping up quickly like that. Nice that the elliptical is helpful.
