Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check-In for August, 2019

OK, the new BB workout that Roxie is doing looks amazing, but I could never do that high of impact with my back issue. :( Yvette's workouts aren't nearly that high impact so I guess I will have to pass unless there is a modifier.

Today I did Cathe Live PHA and had the best workout. I did not go as heavy as I did prior to hurting my back but close, and I had a great workout anyway. Workout was 4 rounds of a circuit, I substituted leg ext for lunges and I did squat presses instead of plie squats and it workout out perfectly. My inner thigh is sore so I decided to do something else. The AB segment at the end in really great and it is a burner. Workout was 1 hour and I burned 499 calories, that includes a great stretch she puts in at the end. Average heart rate was 118 and max was 172. This does get your heart rate to spike just like it is supposed to do.

Debbie, nice Chest workout, boy those decline pushups you did are so difficult, good for you! I am glad you like your new shorter cardio workouts on you machine, and it is great you are getting a good after burn too.

Diane Sue, that was nice of you to do all of that painting, i but your arm is sore :) I always get sick if i paint, i get a bad reaction to the fumes. I am going to grill some veggies and chicken today using olive oil and garlic and some lemon. Then i can dip them in hummus and that might help me not snack so much.

Belinda, nice job on your workout today and thanks for posting that link to the new workouts. I might have to pass on those due to the high impact, but I am going to ask Roxie how they are as she continues to do them.

I hope the rest of you ladies have some great workouts today!

Happy Monday! In about 15 days my son is going back to regular school from doing the online school last year and i couldn't be happier for myself :)

PHA workout #57

I was going to post my workout and I forgot! 4 rounds and a lot of reps.

Squat Press- 10's x 24
Rear Delt Flies- 10's x 16
Side to side lunges, 2 on each side and switch- 5's x 8 rounds
3 Bicep Curls to a shoulder press to 3 triceps ext. and down- 10's x 6 rounds
Alt. front raise to 2 double arm front raise to the same for side raises- 8's x 5 rounds ( burner! )
Deadlifts- 12's x 12 ( went lite because these are brutal on my back if I go heavy )
Leg Ext.- 50# x 20
Chest Press instead of pushups- 20's x 20

I added front squats at the end just for fun.- 15# x 20 heels elevated.

Then an AB segment with a bunch of exercises repeated 3 times or was it 4! I forgot :)

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Step Drills and Compound Moves, 37 minutes, met 7.5, 223 calories, 2,749 steps. heart rate 135 average, 163 max. I also did Ice Low Impact workout 2 step and stretch only, 22 minutes, heart rate average 133, max 162, met 7.5, 136 calories, 1,424 steps. Total time was 59 minutes, calories burned 359, steps 4,173. I used 12 # dumbbells and did not do all of the compound moves. I either did just the lower adding extra reps or switched up anything involving shoulders with something else. When it was squat thrust jacks, I did step up and down on step and jumping jacks.
So tired this afternoon. I slept more last night though which is a plus. Better than the average 4 to 5 hours I keep getting lately.

Roxie, that makes sense with Beach Body. I am one to avoid some of the free trial streaming services when they come out because I am afraid I will forget to cancel before I have to pay and I hate giving them my credit card info. I have to really think I would like it before I am tempted to do it. It will be fun hearing about the workouts from you though.

Debbie, nice work on the weights today. I am sure the Max trainer builds leg strength as well as a good afterburn. I don't get near as many calories and steps as I feel like I should be putting out when I get on the treadclimber, but I know it is efficient.

Belinda, that is great news that Suzanne Bowen is filming new workouts. I know so many people really like her. Yes, barre workouts seem to target the glutes and legs differently than regular weight workouts. Although sometimes they bother my low back. I probably am too aggressive with the moves. The workouts look good , but I could not get the video to play. Wonder if it is my new laptop.

Jolie, nice work with live PHA. I am not motivated to go outside and grill in the heat. I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I love humus and veggies. I took the grandchildren to the grocery store and came back with nut thins, gold fish crackers, yogurts, cliff z bars etc.. I told the lady you could tell I was shopping with the 5 year old :p I decided not to go to Sprouts too. I purchased enough of what I don't want.

Jolie - I agree on the workouts. They do look like very high impact. Although BB always has a modifier. Fantastic job on PHA# 57 today. Looks great!

Diane - yeah :) it's great Susanne is making new workouts. I think she lost a lot of customers. Hardly anyone ever post on her FB page. I do like her workouts. Still thinking dropping my membership. We shall see what she comes up with and how often she puts out new content. A lot of people have problems with her steaming. She is using Vimeo for her steaming. When I do SB workouts, I have no back pain.

So I had a Cologuard test and my results are positive. Got the news yesterday. As you all know, I am totally against invasive procedures and of course they want me to see a GI specialist. My DH looked into the Cologuard testing back when he did it (I didn't know he was looking into it) and he said that to prepare for them, if you take certain supplements or drink protein drinks all the time, to stop doing that for a week before you take the test or you might get a false positive. He didn't tell me about it because he forgot, he took his test over a year ago. So I want to ask my doctor for another test I can do at home, I'd like to do a colon cleanse before hand and stop taking all the supplements and protein I take now. What are your thoughts on this? Does anyone have a colon cleanse that is quick and effective? I do not want to do one for 30 days.

Today I mixed Bulk Arms and Bulk Legs because tomorrow I start back to work. Not wanting to go back at all even though I love my job. I really enjoy staying home. This was brutal doing both, however, I did not do all of legs, I just picked a few exercises and that was enough.

Body Beast: Bulk - Arms.

Progressive Set
Standing Dumbbell Curls:
10's/12.5's/16's/16's/12.5's/10's - 15/12/8/8/12/15 reps
Killer!!

Single Set
Overhead Triceps Extension:
15#/25#/32#/25# - 15/12/8/8 reps

Force Set
Wide Grip EZ Bar Curls:
35#/35#/35#/35#/35# - 5/5/5/5/5 reps

Single Set
EZ Bar Skull Crusher:
20#/30#/35#/30# - 15/12/8/8 reps

Progressive Set
Concentration Hammer Curl:
10's/12's/15's/15's/12's/10's - 15/12/8/8/12/15 reps

Progressive Set
Single Arm Kickbacks:
5's/8's/10's/10's/8's/5's - 15/12/8/8/12/15 reps

Single Set
Weighted Crunches:
12# - 30 reps

Body Beast: Bulk Legs

Progressive Set

Squat:
12.5's/20's/25's/25's/20's/12.5's - 15/12/8/8/12/15 reps

Force Set
Sumo Squat:
35#/35#/35#/35#/35# - 5/5/5/5/5 reps

Super Set
Stiff Leg Deadlifts:
15's/20's/25's/15's - 15/12/8/8 reps
Alternate Side Squats (I used my Squat Rack): 145#/145#/145# - 10 reps each set

Super Set
Calf Raises:
25's/15's - 50 reps
BEAST abs: 30 seconds

Both workouts together was 61 minutes, burned 443 calories, did 1813 steps and HR was 138/191.

Got on my treadmill and did 21 minutes, burned 133 calories, went 1.03 miles and did 2505 steps. HR was 119/127.

Belinda - Great job with your workouts girl, you are kickin it!!

Jolie - Great job with your workouts, you are really getting some good ones in! I didn't do decline pushups yesterday, I do them just normally but did do them all on my toes. I should have noted that. Declines hurt my wrists.

Diane - Great workouts yesterday! You have been busy with your grandkids lately! Yes, the Max Trainer does give a great afterburn. My legs are really defined. And I can do steps without a problem anymore, it's like walking on flat ground.

Roxie - Great job with the new series you are doing! Glad you are enjoying them.

Have great workouts everyone!!

Hi everyone,

Still no workout. Been cleaning my house instead. I will get a workout in later.

Roxie - thank you! I will check it out.

Debbie - sorry the test was negative. I had that one done and ended up having colonoscopy. Hope you can retake the test. Thanks for the tip on the protein intake before you get the test done. Amazing job on your workout this morning.

I will be back later.

Today I did cardio from Cathe Live, I started with Gloved Up and Ready but I skipped the abs at the end because I did a lot of them yesterday. That workout was 48 minutes and I used 1 lb gloves. I burned 402 calories. Then I did 21 minutes of Rock it Sock it and I still used my gloves. I burned 256 calories. Total Workout time was 1 hour and 9 minutes, because I took some water breaks and paused a few time and I burned a total of 658 calories. Boy am I going to be feeling it tomorrow :)

Debbie, wow on the test. I do believe that supplements and herbs play tricks on the results of test, I am not sure about the protein but that would probably skew a kidney or liver test, but they all work together. I think you should take another test and go off everything for at least a week, I bet you get different results. I wouldn't get too worried yet, and hopefully you wont have to have a colonoscopy. I use a colon cleanse everyday, fiber and some sienna because my insides just don't work right after my two c sections. I am probably a little dependent on it but I would rather be regular and clean out my colon. They say in the nutrition industry, " death begins in the colon". You are so healthy I cant imagine anything being wrong. I do the test every year but have not had a positive result. There could be one thing you are taking to give you a false positive. Amazon has some great colon cleanses, but I am sure Diane Sue will come up with something for you :) Nice job on the huge workout today, you are killing it!!!!!!! You know one thing I like to do before any blood test ect. I like to do a detox, I juice a lot and use a lot of cayenne with ginger and lemon. We have a place here called Nectar, a juicing place and I gone on those for a week. Do you have anything like that where you live?

Belinda, I cleaned a lot yesterday myself, my floors were disgusting! Enjoy your workout later on today.

Roxie, nice job on the new workout, sounds like you are really enjoying them!

Diane Sue, what do you think about a colon cleanse for Debbie?

Be back later to read the other posts.

Back to report my workout. Ended up doing JS Have a ball workout, it was perfect this afternoon. My AC went out. I was wondering I was sweating like crazy in my living room. The repair guy will come out tomorrow. Sitting here with fans.

Today I did Lite Cardio Party with the abs, 52 minutes, heart rate average 132, max 177, met 7.0, 312 calories, 3,913 steps. I then did Stretch max stability ball stretch, 21 minutes, 45 calories. Total time was 73 minutes, 357 calories, 4,012 steps. Two grandchildren here today and three tomorrow. :) We made cookies this afternoon and I sat outside with the 5 year old for awhile. Gosh it is hot!! He helped me vacuum with the cordless upright this morning. Keeping him busy. He walked on the tread climber again today. His little legs can go pretty fast on that thing.

Belinda, Kelly uses Vimeo or VHX on the Roku for her streaming. I have not had many problems with it. She says she is working on her own app. I am guessing that is kind of like Cathe's live or on Demand apps. I hope Suzanne puts out a lot more workouts. Maybe she just needed a break and did not want to tell people she needed an undetermined amount of time away, as she knew a lot would drop out right away. I don't get why she never said anything about why. But, then I can imagine if it is personal, maybe she did not want to put it out there.

Roxie, that is great that they have 2 other levels of modifications on those workouts.

Debbie, I am sorry the test did not come out negative. I know with a colonoscopy you are supposed to stop supplements well before you have it done as well. You might check with the doctor before you do the cologuard again to make sure it is okay to do a cleanse first? I have seen milder cleanses listed different places. I have never done one. Just drinking detox drinks like the Amazing grass ones and the like give me terrible cramps.

Be back grandson smeared lipstick all over and eye shadow!! edited to ask if anyone has any idea how to get dark red lipstick out of tile grout!!

Diane - if you run a streaming site and not post anything in 2 years, that's not good business practice. Especially once she raised the price to double. Promised new workouts, instead she disappeared. She hasn't posted if she was sick or needed a break. A break isn't 2 years. You are right if it's personal, it's non of our business. Nor do I care. If you stay away from your business people starting to wonder, right? I'll be honest, I was/still am not sure if I will keep my subscription. I know for a fact that Susanne lost a lot of her customers. Most of the girls that started with her since the beginning are all moved on once she stopped posting new workouts. When people started to ask on FB where she is and why she stopped posting :( All those people post got deleted and they got kicked of the FB page. One of my close friend got kicked of the site. She canceled her membership after they kicked her off. She was a member from the beginning. All she said was why are we paying for a subscription? Next she and others were kicked off. That was really strange, IMO! I couldn't believe it! Her administrator was actually rude to people when they ask questions about Susanne. Why couldn't she just stopped by on FB and said Hi? I think it would solved most of the problems. Susanne is a great instructor but so are a lot of other instructors. Hardly anyone are posting on her FB page. She did lost a lot of customers. People got tired of the same old workouts over and over. Why pay for a subscription if there isn't any new condense? You may as well stick with dvd's. No difference. Not to mention you find free workouts on youtube. Why pay over $150 a year. I wish Susanne the best. I only have problems with her streaming site. Workouts are always freezing up.

Belinda, I would not pay that much for a subscription myself. I can understand the boredom when there is nothing new to look forward to. I check all of the time to see if Kelly has put up anything new. She has been pretty putting new stuff up. Right now she is on vacation and when over she plans on getting the August Ripped and Ride out and hopefully the new dvds will be ready. I felt the same with Cathe. I used the live for awhile and then the newest were not available on Roku for a couple of months and I started to get bored. I just stopped for awhile and then came back when there were enough new ones to make it feel like I had a bunch of new dvds to do. I have done that twice and will do it again one day. That is the advantage to streaming having new workouts to look forward to.
Oh, no on the air. This is not the time to be without air. Hope they get it fixed quickly.

Jolie, nice job on the workouts. I wish I could remember some cleanse ideas that I have read. It seems I seen Dr Axe have something. I bet it included his products though. I would think just eating a diet of lots of veggies and a little protein along with a detox drink for a few days would be enough. They make detox teas. I can't see paying for pills and the like. I had a few years where I had to take Perdium fiber laxative daily along with a really high fiber diet. I ate extra fiber all bran daily as well. Also calcium caused problems and the doctor had me take extra magnesium which helped with that. Later I changed to calcium lactate and did not need as much magnesium. I finally had to have surgery where they built a platform for my bladder and did some repair. It took awhile afterward and dietary adjustments, but I have no problems anymore. I keep up a greens drink and eat loads of veggies and some fruit.

Well, I am back to work and had to get up at 4:30 this morning. Wasn't as hard as I thought, in fact, I had an easier time getting up then verses getting up at 7 like I have been. I think when I get too much sleep I am dragging. I feel great today.

This morning I did Cathe Live Kickbox & Core #255. Fun workout, I like this one a lot. Love the core section too.

Workout was 51 minutes, burned 364 calories, went 4473 steps and HR was 135/189.

I am at work so not time for personals but thank you all for your comments. My doctor won't let me do another Cologuard so I guess I have to get scoped. Not looking forward to that at all. So frustrating!!!

Good morning,

3 mile outside walk is done.

Diane - people got very frustrated after she double the membership and no new workouts. I had no idea with Roku you limited to Cathe's workouts? What's the point in getting a Roku? I have no idea what Roku is all about, when I stream..I stream directly from my PC. Call me old fashion.

Debbie - same thing happened to me with the Cologuard. Make sure they knock you out completely when you get scoped.

Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone.

Today I did Cathe Live, Upper Body Core Crush and had a great workout. I woke up tired and hot, I hate summer nights, they kill me, and along with the hot flashes I wake up like a greased pig!!! Workout was 1 hour and I burned 402 calories. I did my own AB workout because the one Cathe does in this workout would kill my lower back. My average heart rate was 112 and max was 169. I skipped the pushups and did my own alternative exercises.

Close Grip Press to Chest Press- 15's x 12, x 12

Debbie, I cant believe you are back to work already! How much time did you get off? I look forward to getting a job once my son goes back to school, I will never home school again!! Great job on that workout, I want to try it! I love kickboxing again, but my left hip is bugging me again. I think it is from either curtsy lunges or deadlifts. I get like a fascia pull so I have been stretch a lot. It really starts limiting my range of motion. I am so sick of dealing with body issues, aren't you!!! Good luck with the colonoscopy, I am sure it will be fine. Once you do that you are good to go for a long time.

Diane Sue, I would look on YouTube for a makeup stain remover idea, these people have the best ideas!
I hope you have a great workout today.

Belinda, I walked for a mile today with my dog, I loved it. Good job on the 3 miles.

BBL to read your posts.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

This morning I managed Fit Tower Advanced Boot Camp mix of cardio and lower body, 35 minutes, heart rate average 107, max 149, met 5.7, 70 steps, 151 calories. I started up Ice to the Mat and was going to do the all stability ball, but got through the first 6 minutes of warm up and needed to stop(3 children and cell phone messages) so that was another 20 calories. Maybe tomorrow......

Deb, nice work today. I wake up at 4:30 a lot, but not because I want to wake up. I am exhausted. I was not really feeling a workout today. I dreaded the colonoscopy's both times I had them. Really, it is not the colonoscopy that is a problem, it is the prep. The one I had that allowed their special meals was decent though. You will still need to stop the supplements. Afterward I had a supply of good probiotics ready to get my good bacteria back. Maybe it is for the best so you can be sure there is nothing being missed.

Belinda, that was a nice long walk today. When I wanted to do the newest live workouts I had to drag my laptop upstairs and hook up hdmi so I could watch it on the television. It was a nuisance. Maybe she has changed it, but both of the last times I signed up I had to do it that way. So much easier just to turn on the television and roku. I do not like doing it on my laptop. Although my new laptop has a bigger screen than my other one.

Jolie, nice workout. I know what you mean about waking up sweaty. It has been so warm in our bedroom and we are having some over 100 degree days. Everything seems parched. I looked on YouTube I did watch one where they put lysol toilet bowl cleaner on the grout to clean it. Nothing gives instructions for tile grout though. It is not too bad , but still a bit pink. This was a tan grout. I guess it could be regrouted, but I would bet the color will be off there as well. I bleached the towels as they were cream colored with torquoise embroidery.

Good Evening,

I woke up with a migraine this morning couldn’t figure out why until there was a big crack of thunder then I understood. I had two of my grandsons all night so they had my workout room. I did Morning Meltdown Day 7 Downbeat Strength which was Lower Body work still three workouts behind.
