Cathlete
GM MANIACS-
Happy Birthday Lora !!!!!! I hope you have a great day

Yesterday I did Kickbox Surge-totally inspired by Debbie, of course. Workout was 51 min and I burned 771 calories. Eats have been ok. How do you ladies break down your macros? I still think my carbs and fats are a bit high.

Today is BB from p90x, a 20 min run, and abs.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Today was the last workout for Meso 2. I can't believe it. So after tomorrow I'm on a recovery week and I'm not sure if it's an active recovery week or full recovery week. After Meso 1 Cathe said "active" recovery week, with this one she just said "recover" week. But I'm pretty sure I'll do yoga and cardio anyways.

So today was Meso 2, Week 4, Disc 24, Back and Biceps. Kind of an easy workout, not sure why. And very short workout, too. Had a great one, though.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORA!!!

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did The Firm Ultimate Fat Burn and added on Core Fusion Upper Body. Workout was 65" and I burned around 549 calories (can't get up to look right now - have ice packs on shoulders and heat on lower back - I know....LOL).

I'm a bit depressed over the big 50 today. Oh well....it is what it is.

I work open to close today and tomorrow and then I'm off Friday. I've booked an appt for a massotherapy treatment. I have to pay out of pocket, but I'm gonna try and get the car accident claim to pay to reimburse me in the future.

Have great workouts everyone.

Deb - Three Days Grace has a new DVD out. The first release is a song called "Break" which is pretty good (assuming you like them). I bought the download from Itunes. It is good...but I need to listen to it a few more times. I like them though.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LORA!!!

Debbie - I did active recovery weeks b/w each mesocycle. If I felt I needed a total day off, this is when I took one during the week too. I didn't even notice that she said just recovery and not active recovery this time so I did the same for both in between weeks, which was good cardio work and fun stuff I wanted to try, or missed, b/c I was doing STS.

Theresa - I think I sent you my macros, and consult your BFFM too. He lists some very good macro ideas for different scenarios. I think fats at about 25-30% is good (and I am talking healthy fats from nuts, nut butters, olive oil, avocados, etc plus whatever is naturally occurring in the protein/dairy/carbs you ingest) - I like to be no higher than 30% which is easy, protein at about 35-40%, and carbs at about 35-40%. This is on a daily, in general basis. I like to see protein and carbs about even. If I am wanting to really lean out more, I lower the carbs some and up the protein but I can't function for long this way! And my carbs are largely from fruits and veggies - the rest are whole grains/brown rice or sweet potatoes.

Diane Sue - I guess you were referring to the new Eat Clean cookbook by Tosca Reno yesterday? I just ordered that myself and am waiting for it to get here. Amazon seems to be pokey lately.

Yesterday, I took a complete and total rest day. I cleaned the entire house though. My allergies are so bad. Miserable, really. And our temps are so hot again. Ugh. Monday, though, I swam 450 yards, biked 6 and ran 2. The duathlon is Sunday (and thankfully, it will be at least a bit cooler that day) so I am preparing for that and this is also active recovery week for me. Today, I will swim, and I feel like I need to do yoga b/c my muscles just feel tired and tense. I will probably take an easy spin on my bike too. We'll see.

Happy Wednesday :D

Hi Guys, Thanks guys for the warm welcome back!:):)

I finally did it after months and months and months and months of not working out.

I am proud to report I did CC#3 hm…first time I did this work out, I liked it short and sweet.

Stats:
40:00 minutes
2:74 miles traveled
303 cals burned

Shana - Thanks. I think I'll just workout about 4 days and do cardio and yoga. I love my rest weeks but I don't feel it's necessary to take an entire week off. I'll do that when I complete STS. Thanks for the feedback!

Teddygirl - Yay!!! You worked out! So glad to have your back girlfriend!!!

This morning I did STS disc 20 meso 2 legs. I didn't raise any of the weights from last week. In fact I kept the dumbbell at 38.5 # for the alternating plie squats because I didn't want to pause to change weight like I did last week. This is done in trisets and I have to really scramble to add weight. I then did Body Max 2 cardio combos 1,2,&3 then the abs, followed by STS no equipment abs, then I did Body Max 2 stretch and 12 minutes of the Run Yoga segment off of Flexible Warrior Athletic Yoga(this is when my grandbaby arrived) Calories burned was 701.
I made oatmeal this morning like in the clean eating magazine with coconut, almonds, pineapple and maple flakes. I topped it with plain kefir and left out the bananas. I also added a half scoop protein powder. I am happy my hrm worked fine again today. I had to stop and reset my hr range in it. I guess it went back to whatever the default setting was. I need to do the test and the ownzone again.

Shana, yes, I was referring to the New Clean Eating Cookbook. I think I need to adjust my diet some though. I am eating way to many starchy carbs and beans. It took Amazon longer than normal to send out a shipping notice but once they did my package arrived pretty quickly. It was worth the wait for the price I got.

Lora, Happy Birthday:D I hope the massotherapy gives you some relief.

Debbie, I have a hard time taking a full recovery week. I have a Jari love workout coming about the time I have my recovery week so I will probably be doing that along with cardio and flexibility stuff.

Teddy, good job getting that CC workout in:)

Hi Ladies

Happy Birthday Lora!!

Today was back and biceps. I had a good back workout but my heart wasn't in it towards the end. I think this gym I joined is getting me down. Little space to use free weights and loads of machines which I don't use. Although they do have a cable machine which I love and a squat rack which I need. I suppose it was just an off day or I'm missing working out at home lol.

DH has treated me to an ipod shuffle so I may get one of the cardio coaches to try at the gym. Any suggestions which would be the best one to get first. Thanks in advance.

Have great days everyone.

Laura

Laura - all of the CC workouts are amazing. He often has sales that make getting all of them about the same price as one or two at regular price. I honestly don't have a favorite one - they are all faves. Look at his site for a breakdown of each workout, timewise and more hill or sprint focused. Debbie also put together a synopsis of each that is great. I copied it off of the OD forum.

Happy Birthday, Lora!

Teddy - Welcome back! And nice job on CCv3.

Theresa - I bought that program this morning. What an eye opener!

Today was my last Plyo Leg workout, Disc 35. I can't beleive I only have one workout left and then I am done STS. I can honestly say I enjoyed it. Except for Plyo Legs just about killed me this morning. Because of this stupid virus by the end my chest was burning and I was coughing my head off. Workout was 52 minutes and I burned 470 calories.

Girl, I have been telling you people about that program for ever!

Way to go on STS. I have yet to do a Plyo legs. Hope you feel better soon.

Shana - I know you were the first to tell me, but at that time I stayed with myfitnesspal. But since I am still 10# over weight and my clothes don't fit apparently it didn't help, so when I heard Theresa talk the program again I thought I'd give it a shot this time. So, Thanks!

I am on week 2 of Insanity and day 3 this week. Today was Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I am seeing a difference already. I really love the workouts.
