Hardcore Fitness Maniac Hotties for 11/20

Had a great worout this morning, I did Gym Style Legs - standing part only and then did an ab mish mosh I got from Oxygen magazine. It was very intense and I know I'll be sore tomorrow.

LEGS
Squats:
75# - 3 sets/16 reps
***Last set had low ends.

Front Lunges:
20's - 2 sets/8 reps

Rear Lunges:
15's - Lots of different counts and reps
***Real burner.

Plie Squats:
35# - 2 sets/16 reps/pulses

Leg Press w/Band:
Purple band - 2 sets/15 reps each let
***Used 5 risers.

Elevated Deadlifts:
55# - 2 sets/16 reps
***Different counts. Did 2 sets of these because I don't like doing the Stiff Legged Deads she does after these.

Slow Motion Lunges:
12's - 2 sets or 4 very flow count brutal butt burning reps.

Calf Raises:
Tons of reps. My calves were shaking by the time this was over. Never did that before.

ABS
Hanging Knee Raises
Bench V-Up's
Bench Crunch

Did 3 sest. This was a triset so the first set was all three of these at 15 reps. Rested one minute then did them again at 12 reps. Rested one minute and then did them again at 10 reps.

Holy crap, this ab workout is a burner. If I'm not sore tomorrow I'll be amazed.

That is all....

Ally - Thanks for telling me about this ab workout! It is brutal!!!

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Yesterday was fun with Kylie doing plyo's. Then when we finished did Ab Ripper X. As with most 12 year old's, she hung in there, but then she wanted to take breaks and linger around looking at the weight equipment and wanting to know how everything works. She was very excited about working out and told everyone at home what I taught her. ;) Now her brother wants to come over and do P90X.

Anyhow, today I will work chest/back and do Imax 2 blast moves inbetween.

Oh yeah, I bought some new soy milk that I am drinking with protein shakes now. It is called The 8th Continent Light Soy Milk. Has 2g of fat and 2g of sugar. Yup, pretty much taste like water. hehe. My son did this:eek: when he tasted it. I have to buy him the usual skim milk, which was what I "was" drinking.

Feeling alittle tight between the shoulder blades this morning. Need to stretch that out alot.

Debbie,

Great workout! That workout is intense. I remember it well.:p

Debbie: GS Legs is a masterpiece, I usually do my work from the premix, after each exercise it return back to that menu, so I can take my 30 second or min break. Good job. Oh them slow motion lunges are killers. OUCH!

Toasty: Glad you enjoyed PlyoX nice work

Char - Nice going with the plyo's and ab ripper. I'm sure Kylie had fun! I like her name, never heard it before. LMAO on the soy milk and your son. I love soy milk but it makes my boobs hurt. Isn't that weird? Too much estrogen I guess.

Teddygirl - Nice going with MIS upper. That is one tough workout. After doing Gym Style this week I realize how much I dislike endurance training, even though GS is more for muscle building, Cathe goes from one exercise to the next without much break. I always pause and break longer then she does. GS Legs is a masterpiece. I totally agree.

Today was rest day for me. I think I got carried away on the pull ups yesterday and strained my neck. It is feeling better this morning.

Debbie - glad you like the abe workout! It is brutal. I was quite sore the first three times after I did it, It is just now going away. I love when my abs are sore.

Take care everyone. If I don't check back in, have a great holiday. We leave Sunday for South Carolina to hang with the fam damily!

Overslept ,so did Amy's ASC 1. That workout gets a lot done in a short amount of time. The entire workout is about 45 minutes and always leaves me breathing hard!

Debbie,

Glad your abs are sore! Mine are not. Makes me wonder sometimes when one is working out so much that when there doesn't seem to be anymore "moves" that you can do to trick the body since it is so familiar with them all. Seems like no matter what ones I do for abs now...hard to get that sore feeling.

I went to the doctor this morning. He says my lungs are clear, blood count normal, and my blood pressure was low so I definitely didn't have to worry about blood pressure:) Anyway I can go back to my normal activities and working out as I feel up to it but not to over do it at first. He said I will probably tire more easily for a few weeks. He said he wished all of his patients got over pneumonia that quick. The big fuzzy spot on the x ray was gone in a week:D So I think I might do Tony's one on one road warrior tomorrow. Might get on the treadmill later. I also want to get started on those kettlebell moves too. I have a birthday cake to make today and grandchildren to pick up. I had some vanilla light and fit yogurt with 1/2 cup oatmeal that I toasted in the microwave with a Tablespoon of brown sugar and sprinkled over the top. I also added a little sugar free raspberry totinos syrup. It was yummy.

Debbie, which ab workout did you do?? The one from Oxygen?

Glad you are feeling better, Diane Sue! And yay on going back to normal activity! You sure didn't take long to get healthy. That is one benefit we have of being so fit!

Yes, it was the one from the December Oxygen. I think I'm going to be sorry tomorrow!!!

This morning I did legs and purposely did no cardio. That is SO HARD for me!

Leg Extensions - On weight bench instead of Bowflex Revolution
90# 15/15/15

Squats - Smith (Marcy)
105# 15/15
85# 20reps
I dropped the last set b/c I felt like I had pulled a muscle or something on my inner thigh. I felt it prior to my workout and it was hurting and I didn't want to make it worse. But I tried to make sure to squat deep and do more reps.

Lying Leg Curls - On weight bench
15r 15r 15r 15r 15r
25# 30# 32.5# 32.5# 30#
I was playing around with the weights here to see how they felt. At 30# I felt like it worked my butt the most. 32.5# seemed to put more stress on the back of my knees so I must not be strong enough for that weight yet. 25# was too light.

Romanian Deadlifts - Using dumbells instead of the bar to help with back
80# 15/15/15
Went up from 75# last week and up from 3 sets of 12 to 3 sets of 15 b/c my dumbells made me do it that way!

Bulgarian Split Squats
50# 15/15/15

Char - I honestly don't know how you curl 45# dumbells!!! It's all I can do to rack those things after doing the deadlifts each set b/c I have to lift them just a bit. Seriously! You are one strong woman!

Teddygirl - NICE WORKOUT!!! And a long one too!

Debbie - I can't believe your abs are already sore. That's how I get with AbRipperX. I bet you're one happy camper!

Ally - Happy Thanksgiving! Have a safe trip!

Linda - Way to squeeze in your workout and not throw in the towel. :)

Diane Sue - I know that you must always amaze your doctors. I'm glad you are cleared to start working out again. I bet that makes you feel 100% better just hearing that. I love that Road Warrior workout. I'm going to take it with me when I go to my dad's for Christmas. I'll take that one and PlyoX and AbRipperX. I'm not sure I can do the treadmill b/c my foot is still messed up from the last time I ran (I swear I'm falling apart) so I may have to go to a gym a couple of times to use an elliptical, but other than that I should be covered.

Suz- Wow, I can't believe you didn't do any cardio! Nice job on resisting. Seriously, if you want to build muscle, you need to cut way back on your cardio and I know you just don't want to do that. I'm all for cutting back on cardio! LMAO!!!

Suz, just curious, since you are cutting back on cardio to build muscle, what are you going for cardio-wise, per week? Right now for cardio I do one cardio workout a week for about 40ish minutes and then a circuit also, something like LIC or part of Body Max 2. Otherwise, it's weight work and yoga. I'm curious what you do since we both wouldn't mind gaining a bit.
Oh, I haven't workout yet. I'm not a super early exerciser like you all! I'm a bit sore in my right lat still from the rock wall, and also a bit sore from butts and guts yesterday.

Diane, glad you are feeling better!

Debbie - glad you like the abs work out. I have only been doing it for a week - every other day - I can see more definition already.

Hey Maniacs! This morning I did P90X+ intervals followed by Slim & Limber Stretch. Had a great time! I'm a titch sore from my workouts yesterday...Muscle Endurance and my bike ride...climbed a really steep hill and thought I might not make it to the top, but I did.;) My shin muscles are sore and I can't figure out which exercise did that. Maybe the low-ends?

Debbie- Gym Style legs is a good one! Those low-ends are killer. I'm happy to hear how sore you are already. I might have to give that workout a try.

Ally- Have a fun vacation!

Linda- Nice you got in a good workout in a short time. The interval workout I did this morning is a good shorter one also. About 40 min.

Toasty- We gotta find some way to get those abs sore. Maybe add ankle weights? You got abs-o-steel!

Suz- Great workout! Way to go on skipping the cardio. I know how you love it.:D Your muscles are growing as we speak.;)

WD- I'm glad you are feeling better and great you can start working out again. Your oatmeal sounds yummy, may have to try that.

Teddy- Nice workout! You are really working it lately!!

Dallys - You are doing some excellent workouts yourself. I keep meaning to mention that. You are kicking some butt! Yesterday's workouts were outstanding, woman!

Debbie - glad you like the abs work out. I have only been doing it for a week - every other day - I can see more definition already.

You know I read something interesting in the article that came with that workout. It says that we overtrain our upper abs and that is what gives us that "pooch" thing. Makes a lot of sense. This workout really targets the lower abs and obliques so I think it will even things out a bit.

Thanks Debbie!! Means a lot coming from an all out Crazy Maniac and all...

Debbie, just curious, did the article mean overtraining the upper abs is directly what causes the pooch, or rather, the neglect of the other muscles?
