Hardcore Fitness Maniac-Crazy Hotties for 10/30

Still no dvd from beachbody:( I guess I will try calling again tomorrow. Customer service never did answer my e mail.

Dallys, does that Total Body Solution stop at the knees?? I was hoping that it would go all the way to the feet. I had to try turning my head last night and I can put my chin over my shoulder comfortably. That makes me think of the stretch on P90X stretch where you hold your hands like you are driving a car and turn your head. I can use the shoulders and low back though even the hip area if they do anything for that?? Those fast runs sound like the ones on Barry's Boot Camp. I know I never go as fast as they are saying. My max is 8 mph. I used to get up to 10 but haven't pushed myself that hard in years.

Debbie, I can't remember which workout it was I was doing and they kept saying joggers at 6-7 mph. I thought I was running when I did that.

Suz, I wonder why your weight makes a difference in your bones. Only way I could see that is if you weren't eating well nutritionally. Do you make sure you take calcium supplements. Maybe some glucosamine/chondroitin would help. I take these along with actonel because I have osteo arthritis. I kind of want to compare it to my great Dane being better off with large breed dog food and not allowed to get too heavy because it is hard on her joints. And look at you, you have muscular legs:) I bet you felt great.

Diane Sue- Yes, it stops at the knees. It goes, Neck, Shoulders, Lower back, Core, knees. They do some (little) calve and ankle work in the knee segment as they say if your ankles aren't very flexible that can affect your knees. The core or lower back (maybe both, can't remember) segments have hip and thigh exercises in there too. Like Clam and glute raises and half squats for example. It's a great educational DVD if anything. I didn't pass my neck, core and barely passed my shoulder assessments. If I can memorize the drills, I'll end up just doing them on my own eventually.

I'll try to remember the assessments. You should follow the drills in each segment you don't pass, every other day for 30 days and you should see improvement. You can also do all drills in all segments (which I'll do) for preventive measures.

Neck-
Should be able to push chin in and down and hold without pain
Should be able to turn neck over shoulder with chin in center shoulder
Shoulders-
Should be able to reach one arm behind head and one arm behind back and grab fingers (both sides)
Lower back-
Should be able to bend over with arms across chest and hold in the good morning position for 75? sec. without pain.
Core-
Should be able to hold plank on elbows for 90 sec.without sagging (we're talking zero sag!)
Should be able to hold side plank for 75 sec. without sagging.
Knees-
Should be able to do a forward lunge with back knee touching the floor and back to starting position without pain.
There is another but can't remember, maybe holding a one leg squat for a certain amount of time?

Anyway, it's interesting. Hope this helps.

Suz - yes, my HR is always high. Walking on the TM does not get it up so high, but hills on the TM does. My stepmill elevates it the fastest. Brenda is on lots of those Spinervals as you probably remember (I think it was you who said she used Spinervals a while before). Her HR is always high - usually higher than mine! On a good workout, it will peak at 185 in general, but I've gotten over 190 before too. It comes down fast too though so I don't worry.

I just had Elaine Goodlads recipe for Chicken Curry. I love that stuff. I have been making it a lot ever since I cut it out of the Fall 2008 Oxygen Nutrition issue. It is reall spicey:D

Dallys, I used to be able to grab my fingers together but can't do it anymore. I usually use a strap and try to gradually move in closer. It looks like shoulders is my weak area. Everything else I could pass. Planks are easy. Especially after holding them for several minutes at a time with the weighted vest:) I wish the dvd wasn't quite so much money because it really does sound interesting.

Yeah, that dvd does sound useful. I can do all the diagnostics except grabbing my hands behind my back, the same one that gives you trouble, Diane. I always thought being able to grab your hands like that was indicative of above average flexibility, not standard. Guess I was wrong. I would like to be more flexible in my upper body. My legs and hips are fairly flexible, hips especially.

Tonight I did Tracey's Glute Camp, which I haven't done for a while. It was fun! I'll have to start doing this more. Afterwards I did the abs from 4DS kickboxing. I wanted to do yoga too, but sigh...not enough time!
