HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR JULY 23

Good Morning Maniacs. Today I did cardio and weights. Have not done that in a long time. It was fun.

Debbie, would you recommend taking BCAA (I have been reading some on them) and can you tell me what they do for you?

Has anyone ever tried BSN N.O. X-plode before w/outs? I have seen this in an Oxygen issue. Any advice welcome.

M1- Protein shake with berries
M2- Protein shake, oats
M3- Salad with grilled chicken
M4- yogurt and almonds
M5- turkey chili
 
So today was cardio and I did Amy's Kickbox Extreme again. This workout is like KP&C, it just doesn't get my HR up. I think the highest it got was 143 bpm. I was sweating like crazy, though. It's a fun workout. I like all the combos and caught on a little better this time around.

Roselyn - BCAA's help your muscles heal faster. It gives them the nutrients they need after a workout. It has made a huge difference with my training. I take 3 before a weight training workout and 3 after. With cardio, I only take 3 after the workout, not before. Yes, I recommend them highly.

This morning, I did CC#8 :) By the time I finished I was drenched this workout is good for me when trying to get back in the swing of things.

This morning I did Shape Bikini Body Weight/Cardio workout followed by Hip Hob Abs Rockin Body. Workout was 75" and I burned 629 calories. Not the greatest workout heartrate wise. It was a struggle to get my heartrate up the last couple days. Don't know why.

Have great workouts everyone. I work open to close today.
 
Debbie, Yoga X always left me feeling really good when I finished it.
Took awhile but I was finally able to get that crane move. I agree with Charlotte that the first part got sort of boring afterwhile.

Charlotte, sometimes because I didn't want to go through all of those endless down dogs I would do about 20 minutes and then move on to the last 35 minutes which I believe started with the crane move.

That is a great idea about doing 20 minutes of the standing portion and then moving to the floor work. I might do that next time and then I might have time to do the ab work. Thanks Diane Sue!
 
Morning! I just finished Leaner Legs and Core Max #3. I have to pause during LL- she moves so fast! Of course I don't use the same pound barbell for the whole wo, either.

Yesterday got in my workout late...like 6pm. lol. Was obsessing too much beforehand. I made improvements in the workout.


SHOULDERS/ARM/AB RIPPER X

Alternating Shoulder Press 25's 8x's (twice)
In and Out Bicep Curls 20's 16x's (twice) *tried w/25's but struggled too much
Two Arm Tricep Kickbacks 15's 8x's (twice)
Deep Swimmer's Press 20's (twice)
Full Supination Concentration Curls 35's (twice)
Chair Dips 30/30
Upright Rows 20's/25's 8x's (twice)*went up to 25's easily..next time 30's?
Static Arm Curls 20's 16x's (twice)
Flip Grip Twist Tricep Kickback's 12's 8x's (twice)
Two Angle SHoulder Flyes 15's 16x's (twice)
Crouching Cohen Curls 15's 8x's (twice)
Lying Down Tricep Ext 15's 8x's (twice)
In/Out Straight Arm SHoulder Flyes 10's 16x's (twice)
Congdon Curls 20's 8x's (twice)
Side Tri Rises 20x's each side and twice

Doing Yoga X today and going into my meditation. Will do Ab ripper X this morning as well since I missed it last night.
 
Char - Excellent workout. :eek: I was watching the P90X infomercial this morning and since I have the DVD's I think I'm going to do this rotation after I get done with STS. It looks fun. Are the plyometrics hard on the joints? If so, I'll probably just use another cardio workout for that. I'm having problems with my right knee. Also, is the Kenpo workout fun? I think that's what it's called. Isn't it karate or something?
 
Workout this morning was Body Max 2 Premix cardio blast burning 520 calories, then I did Amy's APX chest, Body Max 2 chest, APX shoulders, Body Max 2 shoulders, I put Abs Diet for women in that I got from the library and did abspound1 and the pilates segment. This was only 10 minutes and very basic. I then put in Shiva Rhea's Trance Dance and tried10 minutes of basic dance flow, then went on and did the adventurous mix. Don't think I will be doing this again. I felt silly. During Shavasana I did some stretching. I burned 833 calories total today.

Debbie, I think you will like the ab and floor portion of Yoga X.

Teddygirl - I don't know much about it, but if you go to the Open Discussion, lots of people have been talking about it. There is a thread out there that even has clips of the workout. Let me go see if I can find it....

I don't like Kenpo at all. You really don't break a sweat, imo. You can substitute KPC or something else for it. I love, love the plyo's, but if you can find a mat to jump on that will be better for you knees, that is what I do. It is a super fun workout and since it is so fun the time passes quickly. Plyo's bring out the kid in you.
 
Teddygirl - we wondered what the heck had happened to you! Good to *see* you again.

I am so sore from yesterday. Oh my. Feels good though. Today, I am doing cardio and upper body with a focus on my biceps. Swimming has really done wonders for my shoulders, triceps and back. Biceps have suffered. Also going to do the new ab routine in Oxygen. Hoping the cardio will help the legs. Can't have them sore on Saturday.
