Hard Copy of RWH User's Guide

Will a printed user's guide eventually be available for those who preordered and want one? I know you're trying to save paper but I really like the quality of the XTrain guide and it would nice to have one for this series.

No, we're not going to make a printed version of the User's Guide. The e-book is in the form of a PDF that you can print if you like though.

I feel the same way KC. I was disappointed that she wasn't releasing a user guide similar to XTrain and STS because those guides are worth their money in gold. I understand cutting costs though but am still disappointed.

I prefer the book too. Print outs get lost in my house. I once tore my house apart for three days looking for my workout sheets. Turns out my kids were drawing pictures on the other sides. I was just mad that I wasn't sure which weights I needed to do my workouts. Ugh!

Why not just buy a 3 ring binder and use that for everything, that's what I do. I even keep track of Cathe live with my own comments in it. I also have a separate binder for Cathe's rotations. But I don't have kids and and have ocd on keeping things organized. Just thought I would give an option that might help.

Or make excel spreadsheets for the workouts and keep them in a folder on your desktop or Dropbox so it's all searchable. I just copy and paste the exercises from the compendium, but you might be able to copy straight from the digital user's guide. Not sure how the formatting will paste in excel.

I don't have excel on my desktop. Can I purchase it to download? What can I do with excel?

Hi Kim,
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application and is part of Microsoft Office, along with Word (word processing), PowerPoint (slide shows), and Outlook (email).
You have to pay for Microsoft Office, but you can download Open Office for free:
http://www.openoffice.us.com/
It's basically the same thing as the expensive Microsoft software, and really there's no need for the latter if you just want to make simple spreadsheets.
I just tried copying and pasting from the digital RWH User's Guide, and it does paste fine. However, it will look nicer if you copy from the User's Guide, paste into Notepad or TextEdit (or any really simple typing application that comes with your computer -- not a special word processing application, as it will hold the formatting of the online guide), then copy from Notepad and paste into Excel. You may still want to move things around, but that should give you a good start.
On the top row of the spreadsheet, I put the date of each workout so that each column below the date has all my weights for that date.
You can also print out the spreadsheet if you want to have a hard copy to write on while you work out, then add that day's weights to the spreadsheet later.
Dropbox (dropbox.com) is a free, downloadable service that will sync files on multiple devices. If you change a file in the Dropbox folder on your laptop computer (e.g., you add the weights that you used for that day's workout), it will update that same file on all synced devices (e.g., your tablet, smartphone, desktop computer, etc.). Even if you only use one device, keeping your files in a Dropbox folder on that device will protect your files in case your device is damaged.
HTH,
Roz

Oh! I also meant to add that keeping your workout spreadsheets digitally in one folder will allow you to search and find them easily, either by workout name (e.g., 'Gym Style Legs') or by content (e.g., 'barbell squats' to find all your workouts with BB squats).

I actually do use a three-ring binder!! I have two. One for Cathe and one for other workouts. But I take the sheets out to see what weights to use etc. they have to make it back into the binder. I tried tracking in excel before but it doesn't work for me. Takes too much time to transfer everything and make the sheets, etc.
