Happy Birthday Pinky! Lucky you, it's Eat What You Want Day, so you can have all the birthday cake you like. 
Oh gosh, what a treat... First, my mom calls from halfway around the planet, then I get a present from my husband and son, and I get all these wonderful greetings and birthday wishes from all you cool ladies. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I can't wait to meet all of you in July.
No plans for today, Susan... It's a school day so most of my attention will be on my kiddo as usual. I do plan to work on my biceps later this afternoon. And maybe have some cake afterwards.

Thank you, thank you again, ladies. I'm touched. After my father died I used to spend my birthdays glancing at the phone. He was always the first to call me. And when he was gone, birthdays have been HARD.
But yesterday was different. I spent most of the day still doing the mom thing -- goodness gracious, the loads of laundry! -- but late in the day I found myself teaching my son how to rollerblade when I don't really know how to (tried it only once). I just held his hand, kept him from falling, and kept encouraging him.
And it dawned on me, just yesterday, how much of my father I had in me. How I was doing what my father used to do. We never got to rollerblade or skate for that matter... he was busy keeping a company together, but he left me a lot of intangibles that have kept me from falling so many times.
Among the presents I got, that was the best of all. And all your greetings and good wishes/vibes made it even better.
Off the soapbox now.
