Gym Style Upper Body Premix rotation

I'm thinking of using the Timesaver Premixes from both of the GS Upper Body dvds in a rotation, think I could possibly go pretty heavy since the sets are reduced. Has anyone done this and seen even better results than using the GS as is??? I was planning on doing them twice per week.

Stacy,
Great minds think alike! :7 I just started a rotation doing exactly this, only I was only planning on doing them once a week with a day of functional fitness/circuit work as well as kickboxing. I don't have anything to offer as far as results go because I just started, but I tell you that yes, you definitely can go heavier. I was using 25's/20's for all chest work with no problem, 25/12/10 for tricep work. I even added on extra push ups at the end of the workout--it felt great. And I was nicely fatigued in those muscles later in the day.
Maybe some other genius will have a word on results for us:p

Hi, thanks for your post! How my rotation came about was that I am trying to incorporate more leg work and more cardio slowly into my routine (have a history of knee issues), but I didnt want to sacrifice my upper body gains and I also just wasnt in the mood for a one body part per day rotation either. I havent really come up with a set-in-stone rotation, but I was thinking something like....

--GS BBS + standing legs
--Kickboxing + abs
--GS CT + HIIT cardio
--floor legs + CoreMax section
--GS BBS + Kickboxing premix or some other shorter cardio
--Standing legs + abs
--GS CST + HIIT cardio
--floor legs + CoreMax

I know there's no rest day, and there's 8 days there, but I dont really plan my rotations on a 7 day schedule all the time. I just take rest days when I need them or when life throws something unexpected my way then I dont feel like I "messed up" or got "out of order" on my rotation. Plus having floor legs and abs in there is kind of rest day since there's no impact. I usually do 2 floor work segments for a longer workout. My "rotation" still needs to be fine-tuned, might end up doing a total body workout in place of GS twice or maybe doubling and doing both the GS UB workouts on the same day. Decision Decisions!!!

Stacy,
I think that you're rotation looks well put together and so long as you're working at an appropriate intensity level for you I think your plan on rest days is fine.
My current rotation is something along these lines:

--Interval Run + Short Core
--Kickbox
--Tempo Run + Short Core
--Legs
--GS C&T Push Pull Premix + Long Core
--Long Run
--GS BSB Premix + Long Core
--Functional Fitness or Circuit
--Rest

I do try to schedule a rest day as most of my routine is high impact. Sometimes on the rest day I will incorporate yoga, a very long core workout, or an outdoor activity with DH. I had to go the 8 day route as well in order to get all that I wanted in there.
This weather has got me crazy for running outdoors!
