Enable or Unenable please!!! I'm obsessing over these threads and wondering what it can do for me. Do you have to spend alot of time with food entering? I never did committ 100% to fitday or any of those. Tell me why I need this cause I'm pretty sure I do. Thanks!

Wendy I've really been enjoying mine. It's an eye opener to see how many calories you burn in a day and how much activity you actually do. I'm the same way about logging my food. I started out good when I first got it but I've been lagging lately. They have two different ways you can do it though. If you don't want to log everyday you can choose nutritional assessment where you just log in three days of food (a weekday, Friday, and weekend) and this is what they use to estimate how many calories you consume during the week. If you pretty much eat the same thing all the time it'll work great for you.

I journaled my food in the program for about a month, but now I jot it down on paper- just as a note to myself.:)
I find the device extremely useful. I feel it is helping me form better habits. It is helping me keep my portions under control. I think twice about how I'm going to dip into my calorie reserve now! More importantly, it is getting me off my butt when I'm not working out!
I have no trouble getting into my gym every day. What I didn't realize is that I was lazy the rest of the time.
This little device is getting me moving again! I'm keeping this baby on my arm all year. A year ought to get my butt into full gear;)

exactly how I feel.

Three things!

It did a couple of things for me:

First of all, the food logging revealed how many calories I was actually eating.

Second, it showed me how few calories I'm burning by sitting on my backside at work all day.

Third, it made me realize that hauling laundry baskets up and down stairs (along with the rest of the housework) actually burns calories... not a ton, but it does add up. Makes me want to do housework! (Well, almost! ;) Makes me hate it less, anyway!

Wendy - I got it b/c I don't eat enough. It is irritating to me and I know it is hurting what I am doing. I started logging my food about a month ago and that made a big difference at first but then I started forgetting to eat again so I want this gadget to tell me better throughout the day what I need to be eating (with regards to calories). It will be a constant reminder to me! I don't know that I will switch over to their food logging or not b/c mine is so easy - it is a computer program rather than an online thing.

To the other poster - GWF is a thing you wear on your arm and it calculates your calories burned, your activity throughout the day and your sleep at night. There are many threads you can search for more info.

That was my problem too. I never realized I was burning as many calories as I am. I was eating between 1200 and 1300 calories (maybe) and going no where fast. I'm now eating about 1600 or more and losing weight. I also learned I need to weigh my food. My eyes are smaller then my stomach. I'm always amazed how much more meat, or potatos or whatever I need to add to my plate over what I guess is the right amount.

I love the tool. I'm going to say you don't NEED it, but I'm sure you'll like it. :D

Yes to the scale - love mine! Just got a cheap one at Target -about $5 - but I had no idea how much food weighed. It has made a huge difference. I almost immediately lost bodyfat when I started weighing and logging my food. I do not want to lose weight - just really lean out. That's why I got irritated with myself for eating less again. It's still more than I was eating but not enough. I think this will also help me not freak out over eating 1800-1900 calories in a day.
