Excellent work! In about 6 months (this was 6 years ago) I went from a size 5 to a size 11. Once my depression was finally diagnosed and I got on some medication, I was able to take a good look at myself and decide that I didn't want to follow in the footsteps of all the other women in my family (all suffering from depression, all very overweight.)
It took me 5 years to go from wanting to lose weight to actually doing something about it.
In Sept. 2001, I bought a pair of jeans that were one size smaller than my biggest jeans. I hung them on a skirt hanger so they would be fully displayed and I hung that hanger on my bedroom door. Every day I had to try on those jeans and feel them stop at my hips. So here comes the exercise and better nutrition. Next thing I knew, I could wear those jeans. So I would buy a smaller pair and repeat the procedure.
I am now back down to a size 5 (and they fit a little loose). But what's even better is that now I'm in shape (I wasn't in good shape last time I was thin) and my jeans are being filled with some muscle rather than just skin and bones.
Keep up that good work! Clothes can be an excellent motivator!
