Great article on why women shouldn't be afraid to lift heavy.

Thanks Rebekah! This was just the pep-talk I needed before I start my next 4 week rotation on Wednesday. I'm going to be incorportating The Pyramids and will attempt to "periodize" them with incremental increases over the 4 weeks. I AM PSYCHED!!!!

lifting Heavy

If a Heavy lifter clan exist in this forum, I am happy to join.;)

Not afraid at all to lift heavy.
Thanks for posting the article.

Kind Regards,

Nathalie

So happy to see my fellow Cathletes are enjoying the article as much as I did :) Keep on lifting heavy ladies! We will be fit, healthy, and lookin' good for many years to come! ;)

Can I also add, that's why I love Cathe & crew so much!! I see them lifting heavy (I don't think Cathe has even seen a 3lbs or 5lbs weight ;)) and I admire their strength, confidence, and physique. Before I found Cathe, all the other instructors I was used to were only using 3lbs, so I thought that was the "ideal" weight for women to lift. Then I discovered Cathe, and she's doing bicep curls -- with a 35lbs BARBELL!! I was completely amazed at how this small, yet wonderfully defined women, could lift such impressive poundage!! I've been trying to follow suit ever since :D.

To Rebekha,

Your article is so informative and compliment recent cathe's newsletter on 4 ways to get to the body to an anabolic state. This in my opinion me re-confirm the fact that while doing heavy routine, starting with a Hiit lasting no longer than half an hour prior to the heavy session is the way to!. I will be limiting long step workout to once per week for my own rotation.

To Natasha,

Cathe and the crew not only confidently lift such heavy load but also with such good form. I have seen quite horrible forms in Gyms!

Funnily I went to look around the Gym in my vicinity and eventually join. I was interested in founding out what type of equipment they had, classes provided etc...The manager who talked me through about the facilities was excited to let me know about "the lady only" gym room. Me as a keen heavy lifter went straight to the weight corner and noticed dumbbells provided were all not heavier than 3kg. If I join, this means I will not spend my working out in the lady only room! Basically it means the society still not expect women to lift heavy:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am so happy I discovered Cathe!

Kind Regards,

Nathalie

Yes, I agree about good form. Cathe & crew are top notch in that department!

Bummer about the "lady only" gym room :(. I would suggest you walk on over the regular weight room and start bench pressing some impressive #'s with a barbell. That will show em' !!! ;);)

Renee,
I think there is a Pyramid rotation in the Rotations tab of the Workout Manager, but I made this up for myself for this month (it has those tough 4 cardios you mentioned in another thread!). Ever since I read the article posted here by Rebekah I have been really motivated to give the Pyramids my all! I hope to increase my weights each week and freak my muscles out !

I wanted to give the Pyramids a try after being enable by mini-natty ;):p, and I also wanted to get some total body workouts back in after spending a year doing splits.....

This lookss awesome! I just got the pyramids. Soo I'm trying to lose some weight.. this may help if I can get the four days cardio in.. what do u think? Lose some fat? If so I may try it! I noticed I get DOMS on Gym style then I tried pyramid and got. DOMS. There as well. But high rlps ME I got. Sore joints instead. Its seem so hard just finding out what works for my body. But once I find it imm gonna continue. Just need to lose some weight so my knees feel better and feet.

Renee,
GO FOR IT!!!!! You never know until you try, right? Just modify where you need to and work up to a level that challenges you! This rotation is pretty challenging looking, and I know I'm really going to have to work for it; but those 4 cardios really started leaning me out on my last rotation (which was similar to this one but used Gym Styles and STS M2). Keep us posted on your progress!
