Gray Hair?

I'm 37 and I don't have any white hairs on my head, but I do have one stray white hair in my right eyebrow that keeps returning after each plucking!! I also think that it is totally hereditary. My father, who is almost 61, is just starting to turn white (I think I will be like him), but my mother started getting gray in her 20's and so did my younger brother (he's 33 now and has quite a bit of white in his hair). Better my brother than me, since he looks very handsome with the white streaks through his black hair :) :)

I was in my late 20s. My ex BF on the other hand, who is 48, doesn't have a single gray hair (& he still has most of it, surprisingly enough).

Once again, genetics playing its evil tricks on us.

I've had random grey hairs since I was around 14 (just one or two once in a while---I always pulled them out).

I started goin noticeably grey at around 40, but it's hard to tell, because I also started coloring my hair (first with henna, then a break, then with other color) around that time. When I took a break from coloring, I was surprised at how much grey I had (like a veil over my natural hair color).

It seems to me like our blond forum members are less likely to have grey hair early. Is that right? Or is it just less noticeable? (I don't know the hair color of those of you who didn't post pictures or mention it).

Well, I am 41(42 really really soon....eek!!) and I have been finding grays since I was about 23...right after I got married....I color/highlight all the time, and even though it is getting expensive I will do it forever, and not because I don't like grey hair, or because I think it is "old", I just think it does not look good on me. I has a lady in my store a couple weeks ago, completely grey, but she looked so chic and stylish. The nice thing is right now, noone believes how old I am...us vertically chanllenged folks have that advantage....grey hair would just look wierd.

Kathryn, you are correct. For most natural blondes, I think gray or white just blend in like highlights. For the rest of us, it's $85 every six weeks....

:)

I'm 38 with dark brown hair and no grey yet. I check often! My mother is almost 61 and I'm not sure if she's grey at all or not (I haven't seen her in almost 5 years). My DH and his sister both have some grey and they are in their early 40s (brown hair).

My hair is dark blond and I have no gray hair yet (I'll be 31 at the end of the month.) My husband has medium blond hair and he doesn't have any gray yet either (he'll be 35 next month.) My mom has the same color hair I do and she didn't start getting gray hairs until she was almost 60 so I suspect I've got a lot of non-gray years left.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good

I found my first gray hair the week my daughter was born, which I thought must be symbolic of something! LOL. Anyway, I was 27. I started coloring my hair in my late 30s, then quit a while, then started again at 45, and now I'm letting it go. It's just SUCH a bother, and I'm sick of it. My face is starting to age, so I feel I can let the hair go too.

Because of Cathe and fitness and careful eating, I just felt like my gray hair really aged me. With colored hair I looked 10 years younger than I am, without it, I may look even older than I am, but I'm just sick of it. I'm still tall, fit and slender, it'll have to do. No more boring expensive chemical-dips every 6 weeks! And I had to touch up the roots EVERY WEEK for the past 2 years. Can you tell I'm sick of it? x( :7

>I found my first gray hair the week my daughter was born,

I knew a woman who did home birth, and she went from having no visible grey to having a "Lily Munster" stripe of grey right in the front after her baby was born.

I started going gray in my 30's. I come from a long line of woman who gray early. Oh Joy.;(
If I didn't color my hair, I would have this beautiful bride of frankenstein streak on the right side.
