Go Red Sox!

I know I may be boo'ed right out of the forum (by all of you Yankee fans)... But I just wanted to cheer on the Red Sox tonight as the play the Yankees. Game time (for me on the west coast) is 5pm. I'm from Bellingham, WA (near Seattle), so normally I would root for the Mariners. But my DH is a Bostonite (his accent is SOOO adorable) -- so I have to cheer on the Sox!
:+

Hey, hey keep it nice!;) Since I just had to live thru the Cubs choking, I'll be cheering for the Red Sox. As a displaced Connecticut-ite (that doesn't work, does it?), the fam has been Red Sox fans for years. So go Red Sox! Cheryl

Well being a Bronx girl...raised & grew up with Yankee stadium in the vicinity and riding the #4 subway to school ( the #4 subway always passes by Yankee stadium) ....My heart needs to be with the Yankees. If not then what type of Bronx girl would I be? even though I now live in NC

:) All I can say is DH is routing for the Red Sox and dislikes the yankees even though we live in NY state. He is a mets fan!

This Chicago girl is cheering your boys on!! I'm still feeling the residual frustration with the Cubs losing :( But I've been cheering on your guys the whole time!! Crossing my fingers for ya girl!!

I have to say GO YANKEES!!!! I live in Riverdale(section of the Bronx) and grew up being a Yankee fan. My husband is at the game now (season tickets!)
The score is 3-0 Sox, my hubby can't be happy right now.

Anyway, GO YANKEES!!!

I'm on the forum right now because I can't stand to go in the living room and watch the game. I can hear it and the Yanks just got on the board with Giambi's home run. The other night when I finally thought it was safe to go in and watch the Cubs game it was the top of the 8th. Needless to say, I contributed to the curse. I was so rooting for a Sox-Cubs series. Now I'm holdong out hope for Sox-Fish so I can root against the Fish who eliminated my Giants. Plus I love the Sox, I saw the fiasco in 86, and would like to see Nomar to win since Mia didn't.

I almost didn't read this post; it's too painful!!!!! They've broken our hearts yet again. I tell myself year after year that I'm not going to get sucked in, and then I go ahead and do just that. They were such a likeable team this year--I wanted them to win more than ever. Just another heartache to add to the list that's been growing since they crushed my little 11-year-old heart in '75.;(

The only positive to this is that the ulcer that's been brewing since the playoffs began will hopefully go away, and I don't have to listen to those obnoxious Fox broadcasters anymore.x(

I know you're all heartbroken about this, and I can understand that perfectly!! The Marlins are the ones who outsted my beloved Cleveland Indians from the World Series several years ago, so personally I hope the Yankees beat the socks off them!!! Sorry ... but I've lived here all my life and I've been patiently (not always) waiting for a team ... ANY team to win something big!! The Browns ... let's not even go there. The Cavs ... let's not go there either. And, the Indians aren't even close these days. Sigh ... time to get into college football! At least Ohio State is doing well!! LOL!!

I am so heartbroken. I have never been more bummed out in my life! I guess if this is the worst life gets for me, then I'll have it pretty good. But I feel so bad and just want to wrap my hands around Grady Little's neck for keeping Pedro in that long. What an idiotic thing to do. Back to sobbing...

Well initially I was rooting for the Red Sox but they ended up doing what they do best, lose big games. And I actually took joy in them losing this time because Pedro is one of the biggest jerks in pro sports. After his beaning of that Yankee hitter in game 3 I started rooting for the Yanks. So I am glad he lost it big. I hope him and that other louse Manny Ramirez never make it anywhere near a big game again as long as either of them is playing. And expect the Sox manager to be fired over the winter. That was as bad as it gets.
I am a lifelong Oriole fan so this is tough to say but the Yankees are the greatest pro sports franchise ever. They always get it done in the clutch and they always win. They can probably play this series against the Marlins at half-speed and still win easily.....
It's probably good that the Cubs and Sox didn't make the Series. A meteor probably would have hit the earth and destroyed civilization as we know it.
Wait 'till next year...as they say.

As a Boston native, and Red Sox Fan, I have to say the games between the Red Sox and Yankees, were exciting, and to say the least....intense!! Yes, I would have been thrilled if the Sox won, but it wasn't their fate. As for a meteor hitting the earth if the Sox played the Cubs for the World Series...that's a little ridiculous. It's just a baseball game.

Trevor - OF COURSE grady is history... a people person and couldnt pull pedro - na... he's history... na... grady's going down....

Funny I have always liked the Yankees and Red Sox... from Boston that's a strange combination... It was so funny on saturday we were driving to new york right during the melee and we had to change from boston station to NY.. and the bias of the newscasters was incredible... UGH... alas zimmer is history at last too - yahoo - and clemons did terrible for 4 innings - ha - pedro did great for 6 - grady should never have let him go 8...

There were some great sox players this year... damian, walker (awesome in the series), nixon, lowe, muellar (during the season), nomar... really was a great ride.. just BAD atthe end... the bull pen did great in the playoffs.. which was a HUGE suprise...

NO desire to watch the world series.. On to the pats and bruins!

Of course it's ridiculous, just like the luck, or lack thereof, of those two franchises. That's why I said it.
Maybe in my next lifetime I will see one of these teams make it to the Series.
Trevor :)
