Getting Our Licks In!

Did HiiT 30/30 tonight. Love this workout! Cleaned house the last two days. Not done still. LOL Didn't do piano or quitar the last few days. Tomorrow for sure.

Renee, You are doing so well on the P90X and soon will be done with it. Congratulations! Love your plan of action after P90X. We love our kitty too. Wonderful animals.

Michelle, Great job on STS 20, legs and Shiva Rea yoga and core.

Kathy Sis, I'm so sorry for you folks getting storm after storm Stay safe and warm. OOOOO Beachbody's new program 21 day Fix sounds interesting. Great job on Sat. Total Body Cardio Fix & on Sun. Upper Fix. I'm glad you are seeing things that will improve your health. Yea!

CDPotier, Great job on Step 1 and MM.

Take care,

Janie

Quick checkin: STS disc 21, back and biceps, yesterday, and Hardstrikes cardio only premix today. In a few minutes I'm helping to pack up 10,000 boxes of food for Stop Hunger Now. A charitable event here at work. This will be the first time I've participated in this event. Should be fun and a good chance to spend time with people throughout the company who I usually don't get to see.

Kathy: I feel for you guys up north. We got just a dusting this morning and it is now a melted distant memory, but I know ya'll were expecting up to another 6 inches. Hang in there--warmer weather is coming.

Michelle

Hey y'all

Little catch up
Friday was pure strength chest shoulders & tri
sat day off
Sunday went skiing but for some reason my snow boots were killing my feet so bad after one run I could barely stand up :(. Luckily I had my cross country gear with me so I hit the trails. At first I was feeling good but about half way through the temp started dropping and grapple snow (looks like miniature moth balls) started to fall causing massive snow build up on the bottom of my skis and turning a glide into a waddle step! Much more like snow shoeing than skiing and what should have been a ten minute return to base was a 55 minute track.
So ad technical day and it kinda needed up my sacrum and low back.

Monday I did some pirates trying to realign myself and had a massage which was helpful.

Today I wanted to ski again but we had high winds so I finished up the pure strength series with legs & abs.

High fives everyone!

Yesterday was Cardio & Weights for 30 min. Just couldn't do more than that and today was XT09T Premix 1 & Core 1 (Tabatasize). Very hard/challenging. This should help me withstand longer cardio as I move through my workouts.

Michelle, Great job on STS disc 21 back and biceps yesterday and today's Hardstrikes cardio only premix. So cool to volunteer for the hungry. It truly is needed.

Laura, Great job on Friday's Pure Strength chest, shoulders & tri and your rest day on Sat. For Sun. skiiing one run. So sorry to hear your feet were so sore. Instead you finished it off with cross country. So wise of you to have the gear with you, but from the weather sounds like you had a hard time. Hope your back feels better soon. Glad on Mon. you went to have a massage and it helped your back. And for Today's trying to ski again but did Pure Strength legs & abs. You did well working through all that came your way.

Take care everyone,

Janie

Thank goodness today its raining cats & dogs pouring. Its warm too at 35 degrees. Its balmy! :)

I've done the Lower Fix from 21 Day Fix which was pretty good. Last night's workout was Pilates Fix good workout again. Tonight is Cardio Fix. I have no idea what I'm in store for but I'm sure b/c its BB it won't be easy. I thought all of these workouts were going to be easy but their not. Autumn, the instructor packs a lot in only 30 min. The meal plan too is excellent. I now can see where I went wrong w/quite a bit. Definitely overeating for starters. The last 15-21 days according to the rotation you have to do 2 workouts which totals 1 hour & the meal plan changes too. I'll only be eating protein & veggies for 5-6 meals. I hope I make it.

Michelle: Your doing great w/STS. Its definitely been a challenge for my poor DH & DS w/all this snow. DH fell yesterday in the driveway due to the ice that he couldn't see. He hurt his hand & knee. :( DS is the one left to do all the work now. I do think though that the worst of our storms are over with. How did you make out w/Stop the Hunger Now?

Janie Sis: you did great w/30/30. That ones not easy. You have plenty of time to get back to your piano & guitar.

Laura: That was one lousy ski trip. You can always come to NY & do all the cross skiing your heart desires. But better hurry up before it all melts this week. :) I haven't done Pure Strength series in ages. Glad you enjoyed it.

Take care everyone,
Kathy

Greetings and Salutations!

Finished the 12th week of P90x! One week of Recovery. I will try to follow the last week of P90x in regards of recovery but I may have to throw in a few Cathe workouts. I plan on starting STS with the shhock cardio 3 month rotation. Again, I may substitute some new Cathe DVDs for some shock cardio. I am so excited to do STS again. I think this may be my 5th or 6th time. It's my all time favorite. Not going to miss Tony Horton. It's been real and sometimes fun but it hasn't been real fun.

I can't believe a week ago there was 4 inches of snow on the ground with more to come. Today it got to 68 degrees here in central VA. It was glorious. Snow was melting fast! Hopefully it will be all gone soon.

It looks like everybody is getting their licks in. Keep it up girls!

Fight fight.

Renee

62 degrees here in Northern Virginia today; melt snow melt. Today I tried a different Shiva Rea yoga practice from my daily vinyasa dvd: heart and air. OMG! Just about every other move was something I've never done before--with lots of balance required. I think I'm going to go back to the Earth practice and rotate between the two. I really do like these yoga practices and my two new Shiva Rea yoga dvds came yesterday: more daily energy and A.M. daily energy. Tomorrow I start the 4th week of meso 2. Yeah!

Kathy: I know it was icy to the North this morning but hopefully it warmed up for you all today. We actually had a thunderstorm today. I couldn't believe my ears--sounded so good. The it poured rain for about 10 minutes and that was it. The Stop Hunger Now event at work yesterday was lots of fun. When I left to go to a meeting at the Pentagon, I think we were a little over half-way to our goal. I'm googling 21 day fix when I get done here. I'm not familiar with that one, either.

Laura: bummer on your ski day. We had some of that pellet snow here yesterday morning but just a dusting. It was weird; looked like fake snow. Those Pure Strength workouts are good workouts. They kind of sneak up on me after the fact. Hope the Pilates helped you to feel better.

Janie: I totally agree: the tabatacise workouts are a challenge. Just doing one plus a core workout is a major sweatfest. And I think that you are right that doing the tabata will help you with the longer cardios.

Sister: I'm so glad you are almost done with P90X.

Last night was 21 Day Fix Cardio Fix. These are 5 rounds of cardio drills doing each drill 2x. Of course there has to be burpees & mountain climbers in these. The bonus round was pure torture!!!! Your in a plank position being on your forearms. You have to straighten your arms using your right arm first for 30 sec. alternating up & down. After the 30 sec. you do a quick rest & onto the left side. That was a LONG 30 sec.

Tonight's Dirty 30. This is 4 rounds 8 exercises. I have no idea what I'm in store for but knowing BB it will be hard.

Michelle: Your onto your last & final week of Meso 2 already. That went by fast. Are you moving onto Meso 3? I never looked into Shiva Rhea but only heard good things about her. I've mostly only done Rodney Yee. Do you think Shiva would be too challenging for me? It warmed up here yesterday as well as today in the upper 30's but today will hit 42. There's quite a bit of black ice. I have to be careful where I'm stepping. The 21 Day Fix is all sold out. BB didn't expect such an influx of sales. I think everything's on back order.

Janie Sis: I've also done 1 Tabatacize + Core 1. Agree its a sweatfest. And I haven't done Cardio & Weights in a long time. Great job on all you did.

Renee: You've actually done STS 5 or 6 times? Your amazing. I only did it 1x but used various dvds from the different Mesos. You sure do get your licks in everyday!

Take care,
Kathy

Happy Thursday. STS disc 22, chest, shoulders, and triceps, today. Cathe does drop sets on the shoulder and triceps work and they really killed. I'm pretty sure that I started the first set of shoulder exercises way too heavy. I'm going to have to go back and make adjustments in my notes.

Kathy: I find some of Shiva Rea's practices very doable and others I just have to go slow and do what I can. This chick isn't 18 years old anymore and some moves, like back bends, are a distant memory. I'm not saying I can't work back to doing a decent back bend but it is going to take some time. She does provide alternate poses and I just have to engage my brain with my body to know when I need to stick with the alternate pose rather than pushing to do something that my body just is not going to do at this point in time. I think I've figured out that BB is BeachBody. Still need to check out the series that you are doing. Sounds interesting.

Hi to Laura, Janie, and Sister.
Michelle

woke up early this morning and got Low Impact Circuit in! I like the step portions a lot in this DVD but I found the lifting very challenging!

Michelle: good job on Chest Shoulders and triceps. For some reason I got my 1 RM wrong on my triceps for STS and I had to make a pretty bit adjustment in my notes as well because there was no way I could lift what my workout manager card suggested! Sounds like you found some good yoga DvD's. Are you doing that on the same days of STS or between days of lifting? I haven't done a back bend in awhile myself.

Kathy: sounds like your liking your new dvd's too....and eating clean! ....good for you! I need to get on my nutrition in a BIG way! So done with this extra weight I have gained and summer is around the corner!! YIKES

Renee I couldn't have said it better! I feel the exact same way about Tony/P90X verses Cathe/STS but it is good for variety to do both!

Janie: 30 minutes is better than no minutes, right??? "they" say 30 minutes a day is all you need, whoever "they" are.......

Yesterday was a 30 min. premix with High Step Challenge. Whooooo!

Kathy Sis, Glad to see you are getting warmer weather. It's been raining cats and dogs here as well. Great job on doing the Lower Fix. Also for Pilates Fix. I too am guilty of eating more than a serving. But pretty much lately have been spot on. On the Paleo diet, I only eat protein, vegeis and a small portion of fruit. I also eat a cream made from milk kefir and yogurt. It helps me with my GERD and calcium. You'll make it, changes are always hard at first, but you'll get use to it. Keep Going!

Renee, Congratulations big time for finishing the 12th week of P90X. Absolutely can use Cathe on week of recovery. Love your plan with STS shock cardio and subbing other workouts I think is good. Keeps you motivated especially after doing STS a few times. Wow! 68 degrees, do enjoy.

Michelle, Enjoy your weather at 62 degrees. Glad to see the snow melting. Great job on doing Heart and Air from the Vinyasa dvd. I'll have to look that one up. It sounds wonderful! I love Shiva Rea, only have one of hers. Can't believe you are on your 4th week of Meso 2. Congrats. You are doing so well.

Kathy Sis, Great job on Cardio Fix. Sounds challenging to me. The way you describe the Bonus rounds does sound like torture. Wow good for you!

Michelle, Great job on disc 22, chest, shoulders and triceps. Glad you are adjusting your notes for a better workout the next time.

Take care ladies,

Janie

Athletic step today. Springtime in Virginia today: 70 degrees. Sweet!

Kathy: I checked out the 21 day Cardio Fit program. Yup, they are sold out of this workout series. But I checked Autumn out on YouTube and I was intrigued enough to sign up for notification when they get more dvds in.

Janie: great job on HSC premix.

Enjoying a nice chat with my sister on the phone. Hope everyone has a great Friday evening.

Michelle

Did Basic Step and it was much much easier. Next time will add a riser. YaHoo! Joey is at the Beach House and I'm in Shelton.

Michelle, Great job on Athletic Step. Wow! 70 degrees? That's awesome! Enjoy it.

Take care,

Janie

2-23-14

Thursday was Dirty 30 & this one was all strength exercises. 4 rounds 8 exercises. Went by fast the 30 min. Fri. was Yoga Mix. It was well put together; even had some balance moves which I'm terrible at. For some reason I did very well w/all the poses. I really like this one & was thoroughly stretched out. Saturday went back to Total Body Cardio Fix. Did better this time around as you have to do 2 cardio drills holding onto a db. That's a LONG 30 seconds let me tell you when your holding onto a db. Today Sunday its Upper Fix.

Weather has been warm this weekend thank goodness. However, in for more SNOW Tues. into Wed. So sick of it.

DH has been worn out so we just relaxed & stayed home.

The meal plan is going well w/this new program. Seriously doubt I'll lose anything as I only had about 6# to lose. We'll see where I'm at after the 21st day.

I purchased Zuzka's new kettlebell dvds & will start this after 21 Day Fix but will still use my little containers from 21 Day Fix & the meal plan.

Janie Sis: Great job on 30/30. My favorite was always the Double Wave Pyramid. You have some free time w/Joey being at the beach house.

Michelle: My least favorite dvd from 21 DF is the Cardio Fix. Music is just ok & don't particularly care for the drills. 70 degrees! I'm so envious. I think Shiva Rhea might be too challenging for me. Your much more advanced it sounds than I am.

Laura: I haven't done LIC in quite a while. Sounds like your enjoying all the different workouts of Cathe.

Off to workout now!

Take care ladies,
Kathy

Happy Weekend!

I am in the last week of P90x...well, kind of. It's the recovery week and I can honestly say, I am recovering...from Tony Horton! :p I should have done YogaX on Friday, Core Synergistics on Saturday and KenpoX today. Instead I did Hip Hop Abs Cardio Groove, Cardio & weights step premix and Core Max 1 and today was Party Rockin 1. I am enjoying a week of my kind of recovery! This Friday I start STS, and I'm so excited.

This week at school I team up with the PE teacher for "dance week". We will do all sorts of kid dances and fun things (ages 5-11) all week and have an after school dance extravaganza Friday. I hope I have the energy to come home and start STS. Huh, hadn't thought of that. Oh well, Friday or Saturday, it's good enough for me.

Kathy, just think, Winter is on the down slope! Maybe more so for us in Virginia, but Spring will soon be here. It sounds like you like 21 Day Fix. I know my sister (who is a string bean) is on the waiting list. I think she needs to stick to Cathe. Her yoga adventures are admirable since she isn't one to stray from our beloved Cathe. Me on the other hand have strayed too long.

Janie, you made me laugh! Basic Step one day, and the the next HiiT 30/30! Then I realized sometimes an easy day is needed before finding the energy to kick butt the next day! Go, Janie, Go! <3

Stay strong and keep getting your licks in!

Renee

Cardio core circuit today. One of Cathe's toughest cardios IMHO. But I managed to survive; STS disc 24 tomorrow--woohoo! Another nice day here in Virginia. Pushing up near 70 degrees. It's supposed to cool off and there is a slight chance of snow showers later in the week but I'm staying positive and putting the snow shovel away.

Kathy: trust me, I'm not an advanced yoga person. I consider myself just one baby step beyond beginner. I'm going to think positive thoughts for you wrt snow this week--no snow, that is. Only 6 pounds to lose sounds good to me, although those last 5-10 pounds are usually the hardest to shed. You are through the first week of 21 day fit, correct? I've checked out Zuzka on YouTube and she looks hard to me. I guess it just depends on personality and perspective.

Sister: yeah, maybe STS will have to wait for Saturday. I forgot about the school dance for the kids at the end of the week. Hope you have fun this week.

Hi to Laura and Cindy!
