Getting Our Licks In!

Good morning everyone!

Shoegal, what neat fitness presents! Very glad you had a nice Christmas... had to look up your Rebecca Small, as I hadn't heard of her, and she sounds like she does a wonderful job especially at step. The website specifically mentioned her choreography - so no wonder you're excited to get her new dvds! Hope work was okay yesterday ... always hard to go back.

Michelle, didn't you mention you were reading Jingle Bell Bark? That's the poodle-mystery series, right? I loved those - among my favorite cozy mysteries. Sad to see it end. The author mentioned awhile back she was going to try a thoroughbred horse racing mystery so hopefully she'll have that out some day ... didn't look like it would be any time soon from the website. How are you doing with the snow storm???? Airports closed, lots of pics of people shovelling - well, hopefully you are snug and warm! And oooohhh, the yoodle thing Renee mentioned sounds just wonderful :) Circuit Blast ... hmm, it is on my shelf unopened. What's it like besides sweaty? is it easy to do as a lower impact workout ... ?

Janie, completely missed that you have a rebounder now. Neat!Tell us about those workouts. It has always sounded like a lot of fun, and good for the joints. Does Joey do the rebounder too? BTW, how are things going with the dogs next door? Thought of you in the mall the other day ... a really nice couple were there, selling all kinds of home-made crafts, including soaps. They had glass blowing, soap, hand painted ornaments, all kinds of beautiful things. Your card looks very nice: it is up on our decorated spiral staircase (I tape our favorite cards there so we can enjoy them for a longer time).

Renee, you have some terrific fitness goals set and are clearly starting out th year right! What with all those different activities, you're getting such a well balanced workout that I bet you feel great (though maybe a little sore!) and energetic. Do you have classes starting next week, or is it the second week in Jan for you?

Renee, you asked about presses ... My press isn't anywhere near as consistent as my squats (which are really coming along - back up to 166 pounds yesterday). I prefer doing them with dumbbells, since there's no squatter, and the best I'd done was probably with my pair of 30's and some pace mates. Probably - 70 pounds when I was doing STS in summer? It is taking much much longer for my press to come back and I've only rebuilt them to using a pair of 25s, and have begun supersetting to rebuild endurance. Am hoping to improve those this year. It would be nice to hit 100 pounds in the press ... my adjustable dumbbells would let me do it safely without a spotter, but they're so bulky. One of my fitness gifts was a system for adding resistance to the pushup via bands, and that's supposed to really help the press. Maybe it will help my shoulders, too ... another weak point. Those get stronger SO SLOWLY!!! For running, have you discovered Cardio Coach? Some people use that to spice up their running workouts, and you may enjoy it too. All those intervals would help prevent boredom.

BTW, Shoegal, you and your decorating over the years have been quite an inspiration, getting me to rethink the whole 'not decorating' approach. This year my husband and I both did far decorating than usual ... with BULBS! Actually, Christmas lights, but we have been calling them bulbs and that seems appropriate since they're up in large quantities (for us). It's been amazing having so many up. At night, our very large plate glass windows everywhere reflect the bulb-covered staircase and mantles and windows, just as though we were in a house of mirrors, or living inside a prism. It's as though the house were twice as big and had three times as many lights! Pictures don't really do it justice. It's really beautiful, and fun, and so thank you for sharing all of what you do.

Laura, you're doing some pretty great workouts during what must be an incredibly busy times, with the girls and all! Lots of kickboxing :) Hopefully you will have an easier time getting more skiing in - and that the weather will cooperate for you. BTW, did you ask me about some fitness books awhile back, or was it Michelle???

Elle, that's great that you're not just on track, but improving weight during the holidays! What discipline! Hope you had a great Christmas, and enjoyed yourself mightily :)

Also BTW, everyone, I completely forgot to mention one major fitness purchase around here, because it isn't a Christmas present and I wasn't regularly posting at the time of making the order. My new Trek Desk!!!! This is for my home office. A Trek Desk fits over a treadmill. It lets you walk at a slow pace while working on the computer (or whatever). I first read about them reading a book on fitness and the brain (Spark, by John Ratey, and Renee you might really like it - it includes an inspirational story about using fitness in schools to improve learning). The Trek Desk itself came right before Christmas, and my husband put it together on Sunday. It's huge! I had to completely redo my office to clear out an area for it, and to clear a space for the treadmill, but I sure don't mind. Being able to move while working just sounds wonderful, and it's supposed to be great for back therapy and to reduce neck tension also. I found a good treadmill on huge sale at SportsAuthority, and ordered that to go along with The shipping company called Monday/yesterday to let me know that the treadmill part is coming today. Yippeee!!!!! Take a look here if you are curious: http://www.trekdesk.com/ If all goes well, we'll have it working this week. Since the treadmill is sold separately, I'm crossing my fingers it will fit and the whole thing will work ...

Hi everyone. I am over at my parents visiting. Drove over yesterday. Not much snow here--the roads are all clear. The only snowy spot is my parents' driveway. LOL!

Yesterday morning before getting ready to drive over, I did Rhythmic Step. Always a fun cardio workout. This morning sister and I did Step Moves and the first routine on CoreMax. I'm back over at my parents and sister is cooking at her house. She is doing an italian dinner tonight for everyone. I told her that I would bring my fork. Ha!

My dad got an ipad a few months ago and he was having issues with the wifi in the house. Well, the main problem was that the router was not plugged in. Their computer died last week and mom just unplugged everything including the verizon internet/wifi router. It works now that it is plugged in again. I also was having issues with my parents wifi. Got that worked out with a verizon tech by phone this morning. So, everyone is happy here for the moment.

I went with sister to her karate class last night. She took the class and I watched. I just can't get excited about karate although I would have kicked butt on the stretches that they did during their warmup sesssion. It really is a sport that suits sister's personality to a T.

Shadowpup: you are going to need a new house for your exercise equipment. But I know you will make good use of your Trek Desk. And yes, Jingle Bell Bark is part of the poodle mysteries (author is Laurien Berenson) and I just discovered her, so now I can go and read all her other books but bummer that she might be switching themes.

Shoegal: Ripken loves opening his presents and anyone else's that he can help with. The pup was just plum wore out from all the excitement.

Laura: Body Max 2 is tough. So is Body Max. It's been a while since I've done the whole 90 minute workout from either. Maybe I'll give one a try this weekend. How's the puppy doing these days?

Hi to Elle and Janie.
Hope everyone has a great day.
~michelle

It sounds like everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I'm so glad because we all deserve it.

Yesterday; I did the Travel workout, and at night watching TV I did 30 min. of stair climbing. Didn't have the energy to do the yoga I wanted. Today; I'll so cardio twice. In a few hours I'll do Step Moves and at night around 8:00 I'll do an urban workout with the rebounder, compilation #3. At least that's my plan.

Compilation #3 for Intermediate to advanced

Kick Bound: Basics and Kicking

Interval Bond: As it says, Intervals

Hi-Lo: Again as it says. Instructor keeps saying good, but if you can ignore that, it's really a great workout, as are the others.

Latin Bound: A Latin dance flare, the instructor is funny, but fun.

Note: Until your muscles get acclimated your muscles will scream (ankles, calfs, and legs), but after a few times, there is no longer any of that. I love these workouts, it's different, which I need, and they work you strong. The 4 variety workouts are wonderful. If you are interested in getting other compilations, check out college videos. They tell you lots of info about it, plus how hard they are from beginners to advanced. Also Tracie Long has one out that I just love too. It's called G-Force.

Laura, From Kick Max to the mountain (even if it was one run in) you did great. Keep up the good work.

Shoegal, I love your new workouts. Let us know how you rate them. My Joey instantly falls asleep watching movies too. Poor man misses a lot. He does it almost every night. LOL:D

Deborah, Your newTrek Desk sounds awesome! And a new treadmill. You have been a good girl. LOL:D I'm so happy for you, it sounds perfect for a busy lady as yourself. Joey dosen't do the rebounder, wish he would though, it would really help with his cardio. I'll suggest it to him though. Maybe he will? There is one dog I think might be part Pit Pull and or boxer? Not sure. But I love her! When she sees Joey and I her whole body wiggles from side to side excited to see us. She's a doll baby. She came over today while I was in the hot tub. Joey would call her over and she get to him in leaps and bounds, then I would call her over and she come back to me in leaps and bounds. We played like that until Joey went inside the building. You can tell she likes men, because she sat and waited for Joey to come out for the longest time. It was so cute. I'm very privileged that my card made it to the spiral staircase. Next year I will make a homemade one.;)

Michelle
, Glad that you made it over to your parents safely. Great job on Rhythmic Step yesterday and today's Step Moves with your sis. That Italian dinner sounds so yummy.:p So nice to have everything working (computer, phone...) isn't it? Yes, I can see that Renee's personality would like Karate. She so good at it too!:)

Take care and have a nice day and evening.

Janie

Hello everybody -

I tried the Rebecca Small step tape (I can't remember which one) - and it was much more complicated than I expected and I was stumbling around quite a bit. I'm sure I'll pick it up - but I was scrambling - and at this stage in the game I always think it is going to be impossible for me to master. But then I get it and I wonder why I ever struggled - it is so easy. Someone wrote a review and said Rebecca's cueing is so spot on that they had no trouble picking it up the first time through. Well - I'm having trouble and it is such a blow to my ego. :p:mad: After about 1/2 of it - I stopped and watched her. I really like her though - so I think it is going to be a great workout for me. I did do a 15 minute ab workout from Cathe's Ab Hits afterwards and I'm feeling it!!!

Very busy week for me - DH is not liking it. Monday was an off day - thank God. But Tuesday my sister and her husband & 2 dogs came over for a visit. We cooked them dinner and had a lovely evening. They left at about 11pm and we fell into bed. Tonight - a friend of mine is having a little get together so we are going there right after work because she lives in Pittsburgh. Tomorrow night - DH and I put together a little holiday party for work. We are all meeting at a little hot spot right after to serve as our "party" since our company didn't have one. Then Friday is New Year's Eve. My other sister and her entire family, and Rex's sister and my cousin and her family are all coming for Mexican food and bowling. Crazy. So I'm having real trouble getting exercise in - I can't wait until things calm down!!!

Shadowpup - Oh my goodness I think my house looks so lovely decorated - I'm irritated at the thought of taking it down!!! I'm so glad that you are enjoying your "bulbs" too. It is so festive right now I'm loving it. I've never seen anything like a Trek Desk before but it is one neat piece of equipment - let me know how you like it. i believe it would be a wonderful distraction from what your feet will be doing.

Michelle - It must be so fun to exercise with Renee - I envy you. I echo your thoughts on karate - I appreciate it but I know it isn't for me.

Janie - I remember Tracy's Rebounder workout - G Force - I never bought it because I didn't have a rebounder but I was always so tempted. At one point all the Fit Primes were on sale - it was so cheap I thought I should just get it but I couldn't justify the rebounder for just one workout. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Ok - must get ready for the party. Hope everyone has a great day.

Wanting to join...

I am new to the board and would like to join this check-in thread :D. I use to do Cathe videos years ago and just started up again now that I work from home and have lots of time to workout! I have been doing Cathe workouts for the last month now and loving it! Today I did a workout blender workout from High Reps, Travel Fit and STS Total Body. It was a LOT of fun!! I have to modify at the moment because I am not fit enough to jump around and stuff and I want to keep good form so I cannot do all the lunges, etc. that Cathe and crew do in each video but I am trying and getting stronger all the time. I am trying to concentrate on FORM so I am much slower than Cathe and crew at the moment. I don't have the muscle it would take to keep good form and keep up with Cathe and I might NEVER have that kind of muscle but I will keep trying!

Joey and I did the Firm Vol 1 with Susan Harris. She's so good. It was hard today! Also the neighbor dog that is so friendly, came to visit. I'm not sure any longer what breed of dog she is. Boxer, Pit Pull...I really don't know. But, she is so precious, and wiggles because she is so excited to see us. What a doll baby. I call her Baby, since I don't know her real name.

Shoegal, This is a first; I don't have any of Rebecca Small tapes. Have to look her up. Great job on her workout. It takes a couple three times to pick up step moves. I always play them before I go to bed at night and then do them the next day. It helps me a great deal. Also great job on the abs. You do have a busy week! Just enjoy your family and friends, and when New Year comes and go you can get back to normal. In the mean time enjoy your parties. It only comes around once a year.

MicheleZ, It is so nice to meet you. You picked a great bunch of ladies that will help you, with their knowledge, caring and failures too. We all try to keep each other on track and motivate. Anyway, welcome aboard!

Great job on the workout blender using HR, TF and STS Total Body. What a cool way to have a great modge bodge of exercises without stopping. It sounds like a lot of fun!

There is nothing wrong in modifying at all. And before you know it, you won't be unless of course you are like me and my Joey (hubby), and do so many different things, that it seems like a challenge every time we workout.

You have good extincts in that you are acclimating to the exercises slowly until your body gets use to it. Good for you, especially on form. You are preventing injury.

Where are you from, do you have a family, pets...? What is your work at home?

Again, it's so nice you are here.

Have a good one everyone,

Janie

Thanks for the wonderful welcome! I am use to using good form because I worked at the physical education department at a major university for a lot of years when I was in my 20s....I wasn't a teacher (I was the executive assistant under the head of the department). Working there taught me LOADS of stuff about body building, etc. and I still retain that knowledge today so I know when my forms sucks :p. I did a lot of body building while working there and really looked great - had 12% body fat, etc. and loads of muscle. Of course now, I am in my 40s and am so totally out of shape (sigh). Still, I count myself lucky to have that knowledge.

I work from home as a paralegal in intellectual property (patents/trademarks). I worked for corporations for the majority of my career and now work from home because I lucked into finding a great boss that I can work for from home.

Have had lots of pets in the past (German Shepherds) - no kids. We now only have two dogs - a smaller mutt dog (rat terrier, chi) and a standard schnauzer named Grady who is almost two years old. Grady is the love of my life. We recently lost our two GSDs at age 14+ - one from cancer (Zorc) and one from dengenerative mylopathy (Hanna) (sort of like multiple sclerosis in people).

Grady has his own website and blog :p

http://www.gradyschnauzer.com/blog/

Anyway, that is my life in a nut shell!

MicheleZ, I love the snowball throws at Grady and him catching them and also the one of him eating the turkey neck. How adorable is that? Where is the mutt rat terrier and chihuahua mix and what is the name? I have, I think, a chihuahua and maybe Jack Russel mix. I'll ask the vet next time around.

Wow, your story in a nut shell is awesome, but I think there is more to you then what is in a nut shell. As time goes on, we'll know more. I am going to pick your brain about body building, nutrition. I love any information you can give me/us. I count myself lucky that you have this knowledge.

Just one thing, what is paralegal in intellectual property? Remember, you are talking to a lay person here. LOL:)

You have a great evening, and will see ya tomorrow.

Janie

Good morning everyone! Probably won't work out today as it is my rest day - but having said that, I usually work out on my rest day if I feel good ;).

Janie - a paralegal is basically like an assistant for a lawyer. Paralegal's do not have law degrees so they can't practice law but they can work under the supervision of a lawyer. Intellectual property basically consists of trademarks (like the word Nike, McDonalds, etc.) and patents which are filings that protect the invention of things - for instance, if you invented the wheel, you would want to get that patented :p. I don't work for a lawyer at the moment, I work for a patent agent. A patent agent is someone who has taken a very complicated examination at the United States Patent and Trademark Office with regards to patents and can represent people with their patent filings. I file the patent applications and do all the tracking and stuff with regard to the filings.

Oh boy, don't pick my brain too hard as it is really rusty  I doubt I push myself as hard as I did when I was in my 20s because at my current age, my body does not like being so sore that I cannot get out of bed in the mornings (ha!). I like the idea that you do so many different things when working out!! That is wonderful - you won't ever get bored and I bet your body responds well to the variety of your workouts! I think Cathe is a really wonderful coach - she cues perfectly, she always does reminders about form, she has a lot of variety in her workouts and she is such a fun person that I can't help but to like working out with her. Even modifying I am getting a great workout - I typically have sweat pouring off me and that is with a fan in the room (lol).

There are some pictures of Kookie (the rat chi) on our family home page. There are also photos of Zorc and Hanna.

Checking in to wish everyone a happy & healthy New Year - Probably won't be able to get back here until after the 1st of the year.

Hello MicheleZ and welcome to our check in!!! We are happy to add another person here and another Michelle minus one "L" :) - hope to hear from you regularly. We are a very pet oriented group & we all love Cathe so you will fit in here nicely. I went and looked at the pictures of Grady and Kookie - and they seem like wonderful dogs - I can see why you love them.

Janie - I'm shocked you don't have Rebecca Small!!! Of everyone I think you have the most diverse and large fitness collection so this is a first. I'm slowly adding more people to my library. Christy Taylor was such a nice addition - I hope Rebecca will be too!!

Went to the party last night - had a nice time. Came home - about 11:30 or so - and sent straight to bed again. We have a work party this evening then tomorrow a boat load of people will be over. I think I'll need to work out Friday morning - I can't stand not having the time.

Oh - I wanted to tell everyone that for Christmas - my DH bought me loads of shoe box containers (plastic w/ lids) to organize my growing mass of shoes. OMG - the difference!!! My closet is transformed from this pile of shoes to an organized collection. I'm thrilled!! I also got 2 gorgeous new pairs and a pair of boots. I'll need to post pictures. :p;):D

Ok - HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone - by the way - what are your plans????

Walked Rolly around the drive way about 30 min with his jacket on, but still was way to cold for him. At 24 degrees, I can see why. Poor little guy! I also did Step Moves. Whew!

Thank you for explaining your job in detail. It's very interesting work isn't it? I looked at the pictures and see all your beloved animals, here and in the past. They are adorable.

Michele, 40's is a wonderful age. You have still half your life to go and most likely more because of fine technology. You can create another successful career if you wanted to. As you already know, when you get back in the routine of health and fitness you no longer will feel like that. You must already be getting stronger and healthier as we speak. You are just a youngster! Proud of you for doing this most important thing for yourself.

I think I misled you about working out in that much variety. We use to do that until this year. We now use 7-8 full body workouts 3 times a day. Using Cathe and The Firm. Joey is 72, and it's hard for him to follow choreography. We do however use heavy weight. I'm 59 and still would like to use more variety, but if I do that, then I lose Joey to workout with me. Have to compromise. It's OK. When I have extra energy, I do other workouts. This way we both have a win win situation.

Have a nice rest day.

Shoegal, I can see you are very busy with entertaining and going to parties. Enjoy! Hope you have a great time on New Years Eve and day and the rest of the year.

As soon as I'm done here I'm going to see if I can purchase something from Rebecca Small. Looked her up and she is terrific! Great cuing and personality. Wonder why she slipped past me? LOL:eek::rolleyes:

Good for you to continue with your workouts. It's really hard to stay on a schedule this time of year. Of course it only comes around once a year. Enjoy it!

I bet being organized like that makes a lot of difference in that closet of shoes. LOL Cool!

Joey and I have no plans except I'll wake him up at midnight and we will celebrate it with sparkling cider.

Have a great time everyone.

Janie

Janie,

7-8 full body workouts 3 times a day!? You are going to have to explain that to me as it sounds like you are doing seven or eight full body workouts three times a day?

Michele, OOPS!:confused::rolleyes::eek:

I mean Full body workouts, 3 times a week using 7-8 different DVD's within the span of two weeks. The eighth DVD goes into the 3rd week. Can't believe I wrote that, LOL:confused::rolleyes::confused::eek:. You have a good I. Man, if I did that, I'd be looking like Super Woman and beyond! LOL

Shoot! I'd be Super Woman!

Welcome Michele Z to our check-in. I am wondering what attracted you to our group? Our love of our canines? Happy to have you aboard.

I'm afraid sister and I have been negligent about checking in the past couple of days. I am back home now, but had a nice visit with my family. Sister and I exercised together every morning. Yesterday morning we did Cardio Fusion all step and this morning we did Cardio and Weights Step only premix. Sister is feeling a bit beat up between the karate and the regular exercise this week. I have to admit that I was dragging butt this morning too. Didn't start to feel good until the buttercup sond in C&W which of course is at the end. Had a nice uneventful ride back home. Stopped in Fredericksburg to exchange some Christmas gifts at Talbots. AND of course, they were having a sale and I was able to find a couple of pants that actually fit, so I left the store with a few more items than I anticipated.

Ripken was so happy to see his mommy come home. My DH said he thought that Ripken would just crawl in my lap if he could get away with it, but he is going with the next best thing which is sleeping at my feet. I'm just enjoying being at home. Will probably start taking down my Christmas decorations tomorrow (too early?). I'm just so ready for winter to be over. The slightly warmer weather here in Virginia is making me ready for spring. I know it's still 3 months away. Darn!

Shoegal: you know you don't write much about your shoes anymore like you did in the beginning. I used to like the daily shoe report. Sounds like ya'll are having a nice week off.

DH and I will be going out to our favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg for New Years. He was able to get a reservation when he called this week which really surprised me. It also looks like Joe has plans for the leftover ham. He's got his black-eye peas, pinto beans, tomatos, etc prepositioned for whatever he is planning to put in the pot for New Years. I love when Joe makes a big pot of goodies for New Years. Always so good and always plenty of leftovers to freeze.

Okay--I think it's time to walk my sweet pup. BTW, little Rippy has a birthday coming up in January. He will be 10 years old. Hard to believe we have had Ripken for almost 10 years. It seems just like yesterday that we got our little furball. He is still my sweet goof ball.

Greetings and salutations!

It was great having Sister here. Time goes by too fast but I did enjoy every moment spent with my favorite person. (Don't let that go to your head, Michelle...lol) Karate was pretty intense this week, learning new kicks and moves. I was lucky to get the Intermediate rotation 1 dvd, and bought rotation 2, so now I have a clue of what to expect in the next few weeks and review what I have learned. Its nice to have the video just in case you forget how to do the moves correctly. Michelle and I did a lot of cardio this week, since I will be starting STS for the 3rd time January 1. I've got to work on my goal of 100 pound bench press and squating my own weight. Time and dedication, and thank the lord, I've got both! LOL

I have taken down all my decoartions except the tree and lights. Other then that it is very naked. The cats love to lay under the tree, so I will keep it around a few more days. Then I will take it to the recycle center.

Peppy and Tiki are still fighting for that dominance spot in the pride. My hopes are on my Tiki boy, but only time will tell how that will play out. Things have settled down a bit but not completely. Peppy is about 8 months old and as big as Tiki, so I think, Peppy will be a big cat like Reese. Reese is about 15 pounds and solid, as is his sister Snickers. Then there is dainty Skittles who weighs about 9-10 pounds but is the ruler of the pack. She is also the oldest cat of the bunch, 6 years old. All the cats are long haired except for Tiki. But he is my special black boy, choosen by Noodles.

ROFL, 7-8 full body workouts! Yeah, I figured you typed something wrong there, Janie! lol

Welcome to our check-in Michelle Z! Nice to meet you and have you part of the group!

The secret of all great undertakings is hard work and self-reliance.
Gustavus F. Swift

Happy New Year!
Or as my cats would say "Happy Mew Year!"
~Renee

Janie - SO glad to hear your are not superwoman!! I was starting to feel intimidated . I do feel healthier already! I don't feel as achy in my joints when I get up in the mornings and walking up and down the stairs. I was starting to feel older than my years. Weight lifting sure makes a person feel stronger and younger. I think of all the things a person can do as they get older, weight lifting is #1 - even over cardio because it helps retain bone mass and muscle mass as one ages and if you are weight lifting enough, your heart is going to get a workout. Cathy always makes me sweat hard when I do her weight lifting workouts. Having said that, I do both but I do more weight lifting than cardio at this moment. I want to get that muscle built up and make my tendons and joints stronger. In one month, I have noticed a huge difference. I was so sore in the beginning I had a hard time getting out of bed for a day or so and now I am not feeling crippled by the workouts and have actually added weights to my lunges, etc. :p. I couldn't even do a proper lunge in the beginning and that was without weights!

Michelle - I joined this group on the recommendation of Janie :). I have been checking in with you guys for a little while and just liked the group. Yes, I am a HUGE lover of dogs - part of the reason I started working from home was because I wanted to spend more time with Grady. I sure know how time flies with our furry family members - it just passes so fast! It seems like last week Grady was a puppy we just brought home.

Happy New Year to everyone and I sure hope each and every one of us continues to workout and improve our health!! My plans for New Year's Eve is staying home and bumming around :p.

Hi all,

Just doing a quick check in - I wanted this to be the first place I posted to from my new Trek desk!!! Yes, I am walking right now, at about 1.5 mph, and typing away at my laptop. It is pretty neat :)

It's been a rather complicated day. Clara was in a car accident. Fortunately no one was hurt! She was unable to come to a complete stop, ended up sliding past a stop sign into another road, and was struck by (of all people) her high school government teacher. Go figure. It is a small town. Thank goodness she was not hurt, and neither was anyone else. The car will probably be totalled by the insurance company since it is very old and it is owned by her parents. The conditions are rather treacherous, with considerable ice, and it's just a good thing that both parties were going slowly.

They are calling me for dinner, but I did want to stop in and 'see' all of you tonight. And, neat, looks like we have a new member! Welcome, Michele Z!

Sigh, probably no workout for me today - I feel rather worn out and tired which means I am getting sick. Usually a day or so of rest and I feel good again - I rarely actually GET a cold - they just try real hard to get me :p

Joey and I did The Firm Vol. 3. The Firm is really good, it wore us out. LOL:D

Wanted to wish everyone all there good wishes to come true this coming year. Happy New Year's Eve everyone.

Deborah, Talking computing and communicating, and walking, all at the same time. What will they think of next. That is brilliant! Bet you are enjoing every minute of it. That is cool:cool:.

So glad no one got hurt in the accident. Who knew Clara would be an accident with someone she knew, let alone the government teacher.

Michelez, Hope you are not getting sick. That's awful especially the beginning of the year. Rest, drink lots of liquids, you know, like water, tea...LOL:rolleyes: Enjoy New Years Eve!

Have a great evening,

Janie

Janie - yep lots of liquids in store....water and then something that will at least make think I feel better .

Deborah - I looked up the Trek Desk - pretty cool! I would so go for that but I don't think I want to stand on my feet 5-6 hours a day in order to work. Glad to that Clara wasn't hurt! It could have been so much worse.
