Germany, Fat Americans, Yoga/Pilates Rotation

While I think it is sad that the US has such an unhealthy obesity epidemic, I also believe a country like Germany has no room to stereotype ANYBODY considering they still have a disturbing level of neo-nazi bigotry decades after the slaughter of 6 million jews. :(

I have a friend that came from France and she commented on how Americans drive to even the closest place. So I decided to take notice, and yes I have noticed. We have a church that is only two minutes away and there are houses that are even a minute closer and on a nice morning I see them DRIVING to church!! and they always ask me why I walk to church and I say because I like to be healthy. I now ride my bike or walk to the post office or the bank except when I have to grocery shop then I will drive. And my friend from France is So thin and even has 3 kids!!

It is also reported that millions of non-Jews also died in the death camps - freedom fighters, Catholics, gays, artists, etc. But be careful where you look for your information about that because there are many white supremists who like to exploit and twist that kind of information.

Although I see your point, I think that Susan (Soosan) and her hosts were just poking a little harmless fun at each other, and laughing about the absurdities of stereotypes. (Please Susan, correct me if I'm wrong.) I got the impression, especially after Susan's response to my smoking post, that nothing was meant as a serious overarching statements about American v.s. Germans.

However, it does seem to me that the persistance of racism in both Germany and America is one way in which both countries *are* alike.
