Good morning!
Saturday my Cross Fit gym held a special "Barbells for Boobs" workout for breast cancer awareness. The gym was sooo crowded. It was kind of loony, but at least for a good cause. The workout itself wasn't that hard - 400 meter run (repeat 3x) + 21 kettlebell swings (repeat 3x) + 18 clean and jerks. Yesterday I had to attend a family thing with my DH. We spent most of the day on the road. It was exhausting, really. I'm glad to be back at work so I can rest up a bit.
This morning I did Rockout Knockout. I liked the workout, but I didn't love it. Now, with that said, I had to modify quite a bit because the kicks were hurting my hip flexors. I really should wait to pass judgment until I can give the workout a proper chance.
Wendy: Yikes re: your HC experience. That sounds awful! Sorry you had a rough time. Is your back feeling better?? I have a HC workout (I think it's Volume 1) but I've only done it a few times. Maybe I should give it another chance. Two days without internet was painful. I could get it on my phone, but that's it. I'm glad those days are behind me!
Handstand pushups really aren't that bad. I can't get very low yet, i'm just barely bending my arms. Once you get over the fear of getting into a handstand it becomes second nature. Talk to me about this Max Capacity Trainer app you found. Does it give you daily workouts to try? It sounds interesting. I think I may try some of the workouts from my FBI trainer app. They sound insanely difficult, but that's what makes them worth doing, right?
P.S. I would tell you what IMA stands for, but it's properly not "Cathe-Forum appropriate".
Wiggie: Way to rock PRS #2! I love step workouts myself, so I know exactly what you mean. To me, step has a super high fun factor. Nice job tacking on that extra workout after PRS. You make me feel like a slacker.
I only have energy for a run after Cross Fit if it's an easy workout day. The workout intensity tends to vary quite a bit. I'm loving Kettlebells myself! I never worked much with them until I started Cross Fit. The carnival was fun! It wasn't near as crowded as last year, so I found it to be much more enjoyable. My older nephew won cookies during the cake walk, so he was happy. The haunted house freaked out my younger nephew (yeah, we didn't think that one through properly) but other than that he enjoyed it. At the end he kept crying to come home with me so it secretly made me feel good.
Remember those two pounds I lost? Well, they are back. My eating this weekend was HORRID! Truly I feel awful right now (my stomach is all tore up) and I know it's because I ate nothing but junk. Time to get back on track.
