Foxy Fusionistas - October! :)

Katie:: IIRC you were supposed to try a Zuzana work out back when she was still with Body Rock weren't you!? Well what the heck are you waiting for, woman!?!?! :p:p:p You really should try one when you are short on time. They are the shortest, hardest and most effective work outs I have ever done! :D So when does your "OFFICIAL" Crossfit membership start? I can't believe you are actually tearing yourself away from Cathe 3 days out of the week to do something else! Are you feeling ok?? :p My group sessions went well. I had some lag time in between so I went to the nearest clothing store to browse for a while. I'll go back and really shop when I have more time! ;)

Good morning!! I posted on Saturday but I don't see it. Friday's workout was Trimdown by Kelley Coffey-Meyer. Saturday I worked at an event called Safe Kids Super Saturday & brought DGD with me. She had a ball!! there were all kinds of activities for kids & she got a free bike helmet. When we got home she took a 3 hour nap!!:p My only workout that day was hula hooping at the event & when I got home. :) Sunday's workout was Firm(ZipTrainer)Rev Cardio, more hula hooping & jumping rope, Monday's was Shoulder Shredder, 1/2 of Pedal Power some pullups & chinups(my version), hula hooping & jumping rope. Tuesday's was Zcut Strength #1 with 5 minutes of jumprope as a warmup, the floor work & stretch from Great Glutes.

Katie: Very intense workouts, so much variety! Good job! I have done GG, I did most of it with my weighted vest & dumbbells, I almost put on my ankle weights for the floorwork, thank goodness I didn't. I almost didn't make it through the floor work w/o weights! I definitely got a good burn. I haven't done those type exercises in awhile. I will be using that add on often.

Wendy I tried to look at Zwow #49 but it stopped & wouldn't continue for me. If I get it to play I will try it. I'm glad your group sessions went well, though I'm not surprised, you rock!:) Sorry about the party.:(

Hello Ladies. :)

This morning's work out was Z-Shred #19. It started with 100 body weight squats and then moved on to a ladder work out of burpees and weighted forward/backward lunges. Start with 10 burpees and then do 1 forward and backward lunge per leg. Then do 9 burpees and then do 2 forward and backward lunges per leg. Keep going until you get to 1 burpee and 10 lunges per leg. It was evil! I did all of the push ups and all of the jumps on the burpees and used a set of 15# dbs for the lunges except for the last set where I dropped to 10's. I had to!:eek::eek: Great work out! ;)

Got on the scale this morning and it's still creeping in the right direction so I'm a happy girl! :D

Wiggie:: Nice job bustin' out the hula hoop and the jump rope! I forget about the hula hoop & have been subbing in high knees for the jump rope in Z's work outs coz it's just easier then running into the kitchen to jump rope for a minute or two. I wonder why Zwow 49 gave you trouble?? Try again coz I had no problems! :)

Zwow 89 got done this morning with aching Glutes from ydays million lunge routine. :)

10 sets of 4 lateral fast feet, 10 burpees, 10 sets of 4 lateral hops n 10 v up sit ups all neatly wrapped up in a nice little pkg called a 15 min AMRAP! ;)

Hola mi Amigas!!:D

No workout Wednesday, after I got home from Bible study I didn't feel like it. Thursday's (tonight's) was X10 Step, Low Impact, Hi-Lo & Cardio Blast. Sweatfest for sure!

Wendy: Your last two Z workouts sound brutal! I am going to check them out tonight.

Katie: Hope you're having a great week!:)

Hello! :)

Sorry I've been IMA this week. I've been without internet for the past couple of days. Oh the horror!!! :p;) I can't even remember when I last checked in...Monday maybe? Nope, looks like it was Tuesday. Alrighty then! Let's see.

Wednesday was CrossFit day. We warmed-up with 50 butt kicks and 50 high knees. Then we did Speed Skater Jumps (6x4) and 3 sets each of (i) handstand pushups and (ii) L-Sit (max effort on both). Finally, the WOD consisted of 5 rounds of: (1) 8 kettlebell thrusters (15# KBs) and (2) 12 burpees. Once we finished that, we "cashed out" by doing 75 weighted situps (15# dumbbell). I was breathing sooo hard during the WOD! Those burpees about took me out. ;) When I get home I went on a 1.3 mile jog with my puppy dog.

Yesterday (Thursday) I did 30 minutes of Party Rocking Step #2 and the chest/back work from 4DS. I think my back has gotten stronger the past few months because I did not struggle near as much with the heavy back work.:eek::eek:

No workout today. It's my rest day. Yay! I'm taking my nephews to the school carnival tonight. Heaven help me, I may not make it out of there alive! :p

Wendy: Every time you do a killer Z-Wow workout I immediately have to go check it out, LOL! Is there a non-brutal Z-Wow workout?!?! :p I tried a few of her workouts when she was still with BodyRock and I liked them. The lack of music bugged me at the time. Now i'll just play my own music. High five on your happy scale news!! It was bound to happen soon; you've been working so hard lately! My scale was down a little too but I fear it was a false reading. I highly doubt I lost 2 pounds in a little over a week. But it still made for happy Friday news. ;):)

Wiggie: Great job with X-10! I've only strung together three of the X-10 segments and that alone was killer. I can't imagine doing four segments. You go girl!! I hate when my posts disappear. It's happened to me before, too. How annoying! Glad you had a great time Saturday with your DGD! I think I would have needed a 3 hour nap after that event. :p;) I'm actually thinking of buying my own jump rope. I never thought that would happen, lol! :)

Hello Ladies and TGIF!!!:D

Well, a few days ago I fell "victim" to the calls of Horizontal Conditioning after completely ignoring it for quite a long time! I ordered HC Bootcamp because she was having a sale. It's a circuit work out of horizontal conditioning and hiit intervals. I did 30 mins of the work out this morning for the first time (10mins warm up/15mins work out/5mins stretch). It was ridiculously difficult and before the stretch was over I was in pain! My shoulder blade/back on the ride side were KILLING me! Now I have arthritis that can affect that same spot and the pain is pretty much exactly the same so I am assuming I somehow triggered it with the work out and/or stretches at the end. I was also already tired and sore from my previous 5 days of Zuzanna work outs. That all being said, my first HC experience was NOT a good one :( but I will give it the benefit of the doubt and do it when I feeling recovered, fresh and strong and see how I like it then! So stay tuned!:)

So y'day I downloaded 2 apps to my phone that I was very excited about and ended up deleting both of them. One was an app that someone created to be used in conjunction with the Zwow's on You Tube but it didn't seem to work properly. The other was the official Bodyrock app. I haven't been doing Bodyrock coz I'm not Lisa's biggest fan but their app is fantastic so I was going to try it. Only one problem...The videos wouldn't play on my phone for some reason. Oh well! Thankfully I didn't pay for either and ended up downloading a totally different free app that has 30 days of body weight training interval circuit work outs on it to do. We'll see how this one works out!

Katie:: So what exactly is IMA an acronym for??? :p Handstand push ups? I am afraid to try to get into a hand stand let alone add a push up to it! You rock! :D Oh no! How did you survive w/o internet?? I would surely not!:eek::eek:

Wiggie:: Nice work outs! The Z work outs that are a part of the Z-gym can't be viewed if you are not a member except for a short teaser clip on youtube. That's why I usually give you the run down of what I did.

Max Capacity Trainer app Week 1/Day 1: 50 sec work / 10 sec rest x 4 rounds of squats, push ups, lunges and planks.

Plus..

ZWOW # 75: 3 rounds:
  • 10 One-Arm Dumbbell Squat(Each arm; keep your back straight and abs tight, raise your arm above and squat down, then switch arms)
  • 20 Low-Jacks (keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up)
  • 30 Dragon Lunges + Side Kick (alternate sides)
  • 20 Low-Jacks ((keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up
  • 10 Squat & Twists (each leg; se your dumbbell)
  • 20 Low Jacks (keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up)
DONE!:D

Happy Sunday!!

Saturday's workout was PRS#2, I liked it. Easy to learn & lots of fun! I could be a bit biased since I just love step workouts.:p That evening I did KBKB Limitless Legs, during some of the rests I did extra swings. I really am enjoying kettlebells, as you know they are new for me.

Wendy: My bad! I was checking out the Zwows you mentioned, I'm not going to join Zgym. I have too many dvds to explore right now. I have heard that HC is very hard. I've also heard that it can do amazing things for your arms & core. I will stay tuned for your opinion. Hope your pain is gone. Congrats on the scale moving, very motivating!!

Katie: Welcome back!:) You had the energy for a jog after doing CrossFit? You're my hero!!:) How was the carnival? Did your nephews wear you out? I bet they had a ball! Wow, 2lbs that's great! My clothes have been feeling a tad looser, but I haven't gotten on the scale. I hate getting on & it hasn't moved. I think I'll take the plunge Wednesday morning. I'll just have to keep in mind that the scale is not the only measure of progress. ;)

Hello again!!

Sunday's workout was a blast from the past by Jari Love called Ripped to the Core. It's a high rep weight workout. Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. :)

"See" you later!!

Good morning!

Saturday my Cross Fit gym held a special "Barbells for Boobs" workout for breast cancer awareness. The gym was sooo crowded. It was kind of loony, but at least for a good cause. The workout itself wasn't that hard - 400 meter run (repeat 3x) + 21 kettlebell swings (repeat 3x) + 18 clean and jerks. Yesterday I had to attend a family thing with my DH. We spent most of the day on the road. It was exhausting, really. I'm glad to be back at work so I can rest up a bit. :p This morning I did Rockout Knockout. I liked the workout, but I didn't love it. Now, with that said, I had to modify quite a bit because the kicks were hurting my hip flexors. I really should wait to pass judgment until I can give the workout a proper chance.

Wendy: Yikes re: your HC experience. That sounds awful! Sorry you had a rough time. Is your back feeling better?? I have a HC workout (I think it's Volume 1) but I've only done it a few times. Maybe I should give it another chance. Two days without internet was painful. I could get it on my phone, but that's it. I'm glad those days are behind me! Handstand pushups really aren't that bad. I can't get very low yet, i'm just barely bending my arms. Once you get over the fear of getting into a handstand it becomes second nature. Talk to me about this Max Capacity Trainer app you found. Does it give you daily workouts to try? It sounds interesting. I think I may try some of the workouts from my FBI trainer app. They sound insanely difficult, but that's what makes them worth doing, right? :p P.S. I would tell you what IMA stands for, but it's properly not "Cathe-Forum appropriate". :D :D :D

Wiggie: Way to rock PRS #2! I love step workouts myself, so I know exactly what you mean. To me, step has a super high fun factor. Nice job tacking on that extra workout after PRS. You make me feel like a slacker. ;):p I only have energy for a run after Cross Fit if it's an easy workout day. The workout intensity tends to vary quite a bit. I'm loving Kettlebells myself! I never worked much with them until I started Cross Fit. The carnival was fun! It wasn't near as crowded as last year, so I found it to be much more enjoyable. My older nephew won cookies during the cake walk, so he was happy. The haunted house freaked out my younger nephew (yeah, we didn't think that one through properly) but other than that he enjoyed it. At the end he kept crying to come home with me so it secretly made me feel good. :) Remember those two pounds I lost? Well, they are back. My eating this weekend was HORRID! Truly I feel awful right now (my stomach is all tore up) and I know it's because I ate nothing but junk. Time to get back on track.

Hey Girls.

Taking the rest day today that I was supposed to take y'day!:p

Tmrw I am going to do the 2nd Max Capacity Trainer App work out and I think I will try a work out from the new app I downloaded last night as well. It's called Gorilla. LOL. Funny name but looks pretty neat. I only paid 99 cents for it so if I don't like it's no big deal but I think I am going to. :)

Katie:: The Max Capacity app has 3 work outs per week for 12 weeks and they get progressively harder. I think they are all interval style body weight work outs (ofcourse you can add weights if you wish where applicable). I will continue to post descriptions of the work outs after I do them so you can see it. I am feeling much better post-HC pain. Thanks! It was gone inside of 48 hours! :) So although I have not yet given HC a second go - around, because of the rave reviews it consistently gets I am giving it the benefit of the doubt that it was user error (that would be ME ) that caused my unhappiness and not the work out itself. That being said, I've ordered an easier, shorter HC to try. Chances are good BC is just flat out too advanced for me right now! Nice job participating in Barbells for Boobs! LOL I am participating in a kickboxing class for a cancer charity on Sunday with my boss from the Law Firm. Should be fun! :D

Wiggie:: Wow, Jari! I haven't heard anyone mention her work outs in a while! I did them for a while myself! Great job on the rest of your work outs too!

Well it's time for me to head out to the studio!
BBITAM though!

Good morning Ladies!!

Monday's workout was PRS#1, just once this time.:p DH has a dr appointment this am to evaluate how his treatments are going. We are praying for some good news.

Katie: Barbell for Boobs,:D funny name, great cause!! I am participating in the Kidney Walk this Thursday. I think it's a 3k, our Wellness Comittee & some other co-workers will be going. I am going to say this again, never get on the scale when you've overeaten!! The news will never be good. I always wait at least a week when my eating has gone back to normal.

Wendy: Speaking of funny names, Gorilla? I shudder to think what the intensity will be like. I've been wanting to try HC myself, in fact I ordered one of the beginner ones, it didn't have music so I got rid of it.:p I have several Jari Love dvds, they were five dollars at a Ross store so I thought why not? I've had them for awhile. Kickboxing for cancer, cool!!

Hello!

I've got Crossfit tonight after work and i'm looking forward to it. :) I ordered these socks this morning: Fighter Black. I'm not sure why, I just wanted them. I bought a pair of bright pink "Tough Tatas" socks to wear for our breast cancer awareness workout last Saturday. You wouldn't believe the looks I got :p

Wiggie: Praying for good news re: your DH's treatment. Keep us updated! WTG partying with Cathe yesterday evening. ;) PRS #1 might be my favorite workout from the new series. Enjoy the Kidney Walk this Thursday. Fitness for a great cause, it doesn't get much better than that!

Wendy: Guess what?!?! I decided to join ZGym for a month. I blame you for this. ;) I can't get the videos to play on my computer but they work fine on my Ipad, so i'm going to watch them on there and play my own music. I just feel like I need more change, and all the ZWow workouts you post sound super hard, so thought why not give it a shot. ;) I'm intrigued by the Max Capacity app and look forward to "hearing" more of your thoughts. A kickbox class for charity is a great idea!!!

Hey Ladies.

Today's Max Capacity work out was 4 rounds of 50/10 again of Decline Push ups, Bird Dogs, Squat Pulses and Supermans then I did a work out from the Gorilla app. It was the first work out on level 3 (there are 4 levels of difficulty to chose from) and it was 4 rounds of 10 tuck jumps, 10 split jumps and 10 (MORE!) decline push ups! Needless to say, I was ALL DONE with push ups by the end!

Good work out!

I think, though, that I am going to start subbing in inverted rows for some of the crazy amounts of push ups I am doing lately. Need to work that back a bit more and give the chest a bit of a break I think!

Katie:: So excited that you signed up for a month of Z-Gym! How will you fit it in with Crossfit and Cathe though? What will you give up??? Coz you'll have to give up SOME THING and we know you hate that! LOL ;) And we will need to coordinate doing a few work outs together too! :) OMG I love the socks! They are awesome! :)

Wiggie:: LOL re sending back HC b/c there was no music when I can't even tell you if there was music in the HC I have or not! I just don't pay attn.! LOL I hear ya on the $5 dvds! I don't blame you. Love a bargain! :)

Hi there! :)

As I mentioned, I went to CrossFit yesterday after work. We did the following:

(1). 5x3 Good Mornings (75# barbell) - my lower back is feeling it today!

(2). 8x8 deadlifts (75# barbell) - I probably could have gone a wee bit heavier.

(3). WOD - 5 rounds of: (a) 12 Dips + (b) 10 shoulder-to-overhead clean & jerk (45# barbell). My shoulders were burning at the end.

The workout was more strength focused (than cardio focused) which was a nice change. I'm off to CrossFit again today, so i'll report the workout tomorrow morning. :)

Wendy: You're cracking me up with all your new workout purchases. ;) I'm glad you've found some fun, new ways to challenge your body! "Gorilla Bootcamp" is a fabulous name for an app. Hats off to that creator! Way to rock your workout yesterday. That's a whole heck of a lot of pushups. Yowza! I think it's a good idea to sub in some back work to balance everything out. I think i'm going to cut back on my Cathe workouts for the next six weeks. I still love Cathe, but 95% of my workouts for the past 2.5 years have been Cathe workouts, and I really feel like I need a change. I will still do Cathe workouts here and there, they just won't constitute the bulk of my workouts anymore (well, at least for the next 6 weeks - after that I make no promises ;)). Instead, i'm going to focus on ZGym workouts, CrossFit, and running and see what happens. :)

Good Afternoon Girlies. :)

I got Z Shred # 18 done this morning....

50 competition burpees to start
and then 2 rounds of the following::
20 squat n knee up twist
30 tricep kick ups
20 alt leg press
20 inverted rows (she had push ups here)
10 reverse foot elevated squats per leg.
Then 1 round of 50 strict mountain climbers to finish!:D

Katie:: Nice CF work out! OMG, you are abandoning Cathe for 6 weeks!? Holy Shnikes as my son would say! :D Are you sure you both will survive!?! ;):p:D I can't wait for you to start doing the Z-Gym work outs. She works you thoroughly in very short order! I love it! :) Yes, y'day's work out WAS a lot of push ups and I am kinda proud to say that I do not have DOMS from them today! :)
