I'm off to watch Robots with you-know-who. Hope I don't sleep in the theatre the way I did during Spongebob, the Movie.:7

Oooooh Carole, trail running is one of the most fun ways to run! You'll have to let us know how it went! dmd:)

RE: I DID IT!!

Lynn....thank you so much for remembering...:)...that was sweet...

Thanks to all of you...:)..Pinky, I hope the movie turned out good!!

The details...OMG!!!! I did finish and the weather was beautiful, even the course was too. I was fine til about 20 miles....and yes Jes...I do think I heard you girls..:)...and yes dmd...I think trails are AWESOME!! Anyway...there was this steep, rocky hill after 20 that went almost a mile up...I have never trained on anything like it...WOW!! So I do think the last 11 miles were mostly uphill...or I am just whining....my quads burned out about that time so running was tough, but with the great support at the aid (water, ice!! and goodies) stations I plugged along. Took some advil about 26 miles and that helped the muscles a bit. My DH was waiting at the finish and I even had some energy left to push...didn't want the woman behind my to pass at that point, hate getting beat in the ending chute. I figured somewhere between 6 and 7 hours...so I finished in 6:55. I met alot of very nice people and had a great time!! No running tomorrow though...DUH...x( :) :D, hoping I can walk.... :+ ...Carole

RE: I DID IT!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Sounds like an awesome run, and it's great that you finished within your projected time. I only run short races (5 and 10K's) but I also HATE it when I get passed in the chute. I can't believe you had energy left to push after running for nearly seven hours. That's amazing.

Take a well deserved rest and make sure your DH looks after you today.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't wait to see pics!

RE: I DID IT!!

Wow Carole! That is GREAT! I am just in awe when someone runs that many miles, not to mention some UPHILL! (BTW, that WAS us your heard cheering you on! :7) Relax and enjoy your weekend now. Can't wait to see the pix too.

RE: I DID IT!!

Carole, what an accomplishment! It's only 3/13 & many people are just coming out from under their comforters & you've knocked off a marathon & a 50K! Wow!

Laughed about the Advil. My hiking buddies are true addicts.

What's next?? I'm sure you'll be checking calendars as you let your body recover.

Debra

RE: I DID IT!!

Carole, you are an inspiration! I just decided to take a week off after 4 solid weeks of HC, and here you are running on trails for over 6 hours... That is awesome!

The movie was okay. My son complained it was a bit long, but I think it was enough time to keep him from jumping off our couches and trying to land head first onto his trampoline. I guess you can say my own marathon is repeatedly running after him to keep him from killing himself.:)

Have a good rest,
Pinky

RE: I DID IT!!

Thanks so much....

Shelley...I did start with 5 and 10K's myself, but after my 1st marathon in 1997, I fell in love with distance and although 50K's are longer than marathons they seem to be alot more fun...:)

Debbie...I think I should have taken some rock climbing lessons!! WOW!

Debra...what's next?....well I have a friend that wants to do a 50K in Ashland Oregon in July, so we will see how well I recover!! Yes advil is my best friend!

Pinky...you are sweet...thanks. And 4 weeks of Hardcore is not easy, you deserve a rest. I can only imagine chasing after that little guy is very tiring. I be he got his energy from his Mommy!

Well, the legs are sore today and I will do some stretching and take it easy....:)...Carole

RE: I DID IT!!

Wow Carole, congratulations on finishing and your time. That's great. I was out for my 5 mile  run yesterday morning wondering how on earth it would be possible to go 50K!!!!!! what an accomplishment:)

RE: I DID IT!!

Ooooooooooh, girl, you make us all so proud!! A 50k?! Is that...gulp, 30 miles? Well, then okay. Show us the way and we will be watching in utter amazement. Good job. dmd:)
