Films that make you cry...

Oh, me too, Dani - I sobbed like a baby. For awhile, I couldn't even say "The Notebook" without tears coming!

Other ones:

Message in a Bottle
Raising Helen
Pay it Forward - this one killed me, too

Angie

Schindler's List, without a doubt.
Saving Private Ryan - had to turn that one off. I don't do war movies
Most recently, Million Dollar Baby.
There are so many - it doesn't take much.
How 'bout theatre - Les Miserables does it to me every time!

Kerrie

Ugh! Wayne! The Color Purple does that to me too!! But i love that movie!

I have a few more though:

What Dreams May Come
One True Thing
Glory
Steel Magnolias
When a Man Loves a Woman
Beaches (of course!)

jes:(

I'm not a cryer so I don't have too many listed but those listed are the ones that ALWAYS make me cry:

Schindler's List
Ladder 49 (I couldn't stop crying for 3 days while thinking about it)
Romeo & Juliet
Steel Magnolias

Hi Wayne! I'm so glad to see your back!!

Mine would have to be:

Sophie's Choice w/Meryl Streep. I cried for an entire hour when the movie ended.

Kathy:D

I haven't been able to watch Titanic since it first came out in theatres. I was bawling like an idiot all the way home, and I just can't bring myself to sit through those heartwrenching scenes with those poor people dying. Just can't do it!

Also, you know ET is still alive and you still cry when he "dies" in the house! How goofy is that?..

>I can only think of 2 right off the top of my head.
>
>1 City of Angels
>2 When a Man Loves a Woman

These are 2 biggies for me. And I have seen When a Man Loves a Woman about a thousand times!!!!

Clare -

Have you ever heard the song "They Dance Alone" by Sting? It's about the desaparecidos in Chile under the Pinochet regime and how their mothers/daughters/sisters/wives would dance with a photograph of the disappeared pinned to their shirt. I used to bawl buckets every time I heard it.

Joni

Okay, I have a new one to add to this list:

Last of the Mohicans. I sob at the end of this movie every time I see it!

Message in a Bottle
Meet Joe Black
Revenge (It's funny, coz this stars Kevin Costner, from Message in a Bottle, and Madeleine Stowe, from Last of the Mohicans - I'm seeing a trend here :) )

...and....drum roll please...I'm writing a book titled First Kiss that if it ever gets made into a movie, will be a big tear-jerker with the right cast and director! It's kind of a cross between La Femme Nikita, Lord of the Rings, & When Harry Met Sally (not as funny as "Harry/Sally", not quite as morbidly dramatic as "Lord of the Rings", with a little femme fatale spy espionage action)

For me I would have to say:

Steel Magnolias
An Affair To Remember
Armageddon

And from my childhood - Where The Red Fern Grows

Katie

Love Actually (the part where the guy is holding up the signs for Kiera Knightly). Why doesn't anyone love ME like that???? ;(

Oh, and Savannah Smiles (when they take Bootsie and the other guy to jail at the end.)

Now I'm sad.

Stepmom, the part where Julia Roberts and Susan Seradian (sp)? finally have it out... And it's the sobbing, as Oprah would say "ugly crying" ha ha

I cried almost 15 minutes into The Notebook & sobbed the rest of the way through it.

I cried through An Affaire of Love (a french film - Une Liason Pornografique.) Very sad.

Camille Claudel (another French film about the sculptress that had a tragic affair with Rodin) also makes me bawl uncontrollably.

& the usual:
Beaches
Steel Magnolias
ET
Gladiator

Marla

Lunacat,

Oh yea, Love Actually, i cried to at that bit... the sign holding is sooooooooooooooo lovely.

I have the notebook but haven't seen it yet. I will make a point this weekend.

Ok, here we go...

1) The Pianist
2) Empire of the Sun
3) Schindler's List
4) Sophie's Choice
5) Beaches
6) Au revoir les enfants
7) Germinal
8) Erin Brockovich (why?? lol!!)
9) Just about anything during my TOM!!
10 Um, can't think of anything but wanted to make it to 10 ;O)
