Laura -- I know what you mean about nobody else "gets it". Last year, my mom and all of my friends thought I was crazy to travel so far just to go "work out" (I'm from Texas!). Even my husband thought I was crazy. So I told my husband I would just go alone (I would be okay!). Well, once my husband found out how close Atlantic City was (he LOVES to go gambling -- we go to Vegas once or twice a year!), he thought it was best I didn't travel "alone" because I was going too far away. He even persuaded my cousin, Keith, to go along to help keep me "safe". Anyhow -- needless to say, I didn't see much of my husband or my cousin (they spent all of their time in Atlantic City!), but they did make fun of me all along the way (making me sound like a star-struck teen (me) going to see their idol (Cathe) -- you get the picture! I had a lot of silly comments to endure!
The funny thing is that when I told my husband I wanted to go again this year, he said "okay" real quick! And now we are adding days on to this trip (we're going to Jersey on Thursday -- before the roadtrip -- and not leaving until Monday afternoon)! Also, my cousin is going again, as well as my husband's best friend and wife (my husband's best friend loves to gamble even MORE than my husband!).
We'll see what happens this year -- I would just rather go by myself!! I'm sure I will have to endure MORE comments again (this time by my husband's best friend -- he told my husband he thinks I'm crazy, but I haven't seen him for him to tell me this, so I'm prepared!). People just DON'T understand, do they??!!
