FAVOURITE MOVIE ?

``Three Weddings and a Funeral'' - the best movie ever.

``The Big Chill'' - this was my favorite for years, until I saw TWAAF.

These will probably sound strange to the rest of you, but here goes:

Ingmar Bergman's Fanny and Alexander

Federico Fellini's 8 1/2

Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor

Francis Coppola's Apocalypse Now

Francois Truffaut's Jules and Jim

I like just about everything else by these directors, too.

The Lord of the Rings...can't wait for the next installment coming in December.

I went to school with the guy who played Drew Barrymore's secretary in "Never Been Kissed". I played his girlfriend in the 8th grade play! How's that for a brush with fame?

My favorites: The Manchurian Candidate -- if you've only seen Angela Lansbury in "Murder, She Wrote," you'll never look at her the same way again; Vertigo.

The Time Machine

The Shining, with Jack Nicholson

Come Back Little Sheba

Psycho

Babe (The talking pig)

Good thread!

There have been several versions of Dorian Grey - all fascinating of course. I think the first one was the best though. I've forgotten the name of the actor. I LOVE the Odd Couple too. Good choices Babs!

O.k., my favorite films are going to seem a little out there compared to what most of you have listed, but here goes....

In The Line Of Duty 4 (A Hong Kong Girls with Guns film)
Jeepers Creepers
Aliens
Austin Powers (any of them)

I like Martial Arts, Horror and Comedy...forget the chick flicks.:)

I love Braveheart, gotta be my top pick. But for comedy I'll say O Brother Where Art Thou. I loved it so much I went out and bought the soundtrack!

"In constant sorroooooooooooooow!"

Dirty Dancing. Yeah, I know, it's not high on the cultural scale, but it's sort of thing I dreamed would happen to me when I was a skinny, flat-chested, ugly little nobody.

And Patrick Swayze's pretty hot...

When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Beaches, You've Got Mail, The Bird Cage, Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Father of the Bride (Steve Martin version)...I've watched all of these dozens of times!

I love films that make me laugh and cry both!
