Favorite nail polish color this week...

My favorite color right now is OPI "Yes I can can" it's a dark, eggplant, kind of color, without looking black. This one replaces Wicked, similar feel but tones down the darkness and has more purple than red.

Past/recent faves: OPI My Private Jet, Black with fine silver sparkles, so it looks like a shiny very dark grey. And a medium more lavendary purple, OPI "The color to watch".

Color I am totally over, I tried it again last week, and was just not liking it:
Esse "Wicked"

Avon's Mink. It's a deep brown with a little sparkle. Perfect for fall! I'm an Avon lady, so I love to try different nail colors! Lately, though, I've had little time for nail painting. :( Your thread made me want to put on a chick's flick and paint my nails!!

Hmmm... i like the OPI "I'm not really a waitress" which is nice bright red and I like the pink/peachy shade "My Chihuahua Bites" haha! I must say though that sometimes i choose just based on the name! OPI always has fun names for their colors.

Chanel, Paradoxal. Kept seeing it in magazines and it is just perfect for fall and winter, a deep mauve with gray/aubergine undertones. Very nice. There's a pedicure in my future, maybe tonight?!!

Another vote for I'm not really a waitress. It is my all time favorite toenail color. I agree on the OPI names, they must have a blast coming up with them!

I recently discovered Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure Collection of polishes. They are awesome. Two coats of the stuff and you are done! No base coat, no top coat. The brush is wide and the polish goes on beautifully. I just love it!

I purchased Pedal to the Medal for a wedding I attend a couple of weeks ago-it's a silver color and went back a week later and bought Gray by Gray which I would describe as a steel blue color. I will be visiting my neighborhood Walgreens again soon (almost time for a polish change!) to buy another new color! I am thinking a deep purple would be cool as well as some shade of red. Eventually I will get into the lighter/brighter colors for when the weather turns warm again but that can wait for now...

I've ALWAYS loved many of the deep red, plum, burgundy, wine-coloured shades put out by Revlon over the years. I so enjoy a professional manicure but have been on such a tight budget these past few months + other major concerns, so haven't done my nails in ages. Just two days ago I was remarking how much I missed having well-manicured hands. When things start looking up with me financially (hopefully sooner than later!) perhaps that will be one of the first things to which I'll be treating myself ;)

I had my 2nd CND shellac manicure today and am LOVING it!!! 14 days on the 1st round and I could have gone a few days longer! I like the color "negligee" which is the palest pink so it just looks natural (but hard and durable as gel nails!) They have some great colors but, as I work in an operating room and we are not allowed to wear nail polish, as long as I keep it natural people pretend not to notice.

I haven't had a pro manicure in awhile and hate the way my nails look. What is a CND shellac manicure? I need something that will last and not need a filling every 10 days or less. Actually what is the latest in manicures? I am not even sure what gel nails are.

I believe the Shellac manicures are the same as the OPI Axxium "soak off gel polish". The polish is applied in layers, then dried under UV lights, it lasts 2-3 weeks without chipping, but costs much more than a standard manicure. Here is a very detailed article about all the pros and cons. At my place manicures are $12 and Gel manicures are $35. And as far as saving time and not having to dry, not sure I agree because after the first time, when you factor in the soaking time, you will be there for at least an hour.

Some people just love it, it just didn't work well for me, but I did just see someone get a french manicure with the gel, which I may consider for my vacation. Mine started lifting after 1 week, it was a dark color, then I started picking at it, I guess I could have gone back for a fill in.

Some years ago for a while I was getting some kind of nail "wrap" that went on looking like a french manicure so polish was not needed if I didn't want it. It was very cool and I've considered going back to get it done again many times but ugh...can't stand those appointments. I am too darned impatient to sit through that once every couple of weeks. I am much happier just quickly doing my nails at home and being done with it and that's if I even want them done. All summer long I only did my toes and just kept my fingernails cut short. Just now that the weather is changing I have started to keep my fingernails polished and am letting them grow a bit but not sure how long that will last! :p

I'm going to decide on something new for tomorrow, but just a couple days ago I took off OPI's "I'm Suzy and I'm a Chocoholic", which I had on for a while. It's a deep chocolatey red sort of color, so good for fall!
