Favorite Christmas special?

'Twas the Night Before Christmas is on in about 29 mins, one of my faves, with the little mouse family. Its not one that is played over and over, I normally have a hard time catching it. My regular Weds show is preempted by Barbra Walters tonight, so I was looking at the guide, and there it was. :) I love all the kids Christmas shows, but am partial to the mice, and I also love Olive, the Other Reindeer.

Your faves?

Nan

Most of the specials I can probably quote all the way thru (am I weird?) Oh, and there is also a really cool Rankin-Bass, I believe it called The Story of Santa Claus, written by L Frank Baum, that tells the story of how Santa became immortal. Good book, as well.

My favorite is the cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It is now my 4-year-old's favorite as well. I also like the Garfield Christmas special.

Charlie Brown is it for me...watch it every year.

Did anyone see that new cartoon Prep and Landing?? I decided to watch it after Charlie Brown, and I didn't think I was going to, but I loved it!!!

I love the cartoon version of the Grinch.

Christmas Vacation, Miracle on 34th Street, Christmas Story, Scrooge are my favorite movies.

All the old style Christmas cartoons! I have them all on dvd!

Charlie Brown Christmas has to be my favorite
Second (cartoon fave) Grinch

Movies: Jim Carey's Grinch
A Wonderful Life
Love Actually (not quite a Christmas movie, but it came out at Christmas)

How the Grinch Stole Christmas cartoon
Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer

Movies:
The 1938 version of the Christmas Carol

White Christmas

The original Miracle on 34th Street

The Homecoming: A Christmas Story (Waltons) - sappy I know but I love Patricia Neal as the mom.

Meet Me In St. Louis (only because Judy Garland sings 'Have yourself a merry little Chirstmas)

Nester the Long Ear Donkey (makes me cry just typing it):(:(

Love TBS' all-day "Christmas Story" marathon on Christmas day!

I love "Meet Me In St. Louis," too. Judy Garland is heartbreaking when she sings "Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas."

And, "Scrooged" is usually on at some point, and I have to watch it!

Hmmmmm...

1. The original South Park "Spirit of Christmas"

2. "Raging Rudolph" from MadTV

3. A Colbert Christmas

Yeah...a little jaded. ;)

Hey Nan and all my buddies^^^^

Frosty the Snowman with Rudolph and Christmas Story as close seconds. :) I am such a cheese that Frosty brings tears to my eyes! I hope everybody enjoys the holidays this year!

I watched Prep and Landing-Loved it!
It's going to air again Dec 16th at 8pm according to the website. I wanted to see who the voices were. Sarah Chalke is McGee and Wayne is Dave Foley. Thought I recognized McGEE but could not place it.

Is it just me? I've never been a fan of Charlie Brown except for the music, I think because 1. everyone is always so mean to Charlie Brown and 2. where are the parents? I always felt like those kids were abandoned. :(
Occasionally there is a teacher and they always talk like: WA WAWA WA WA.

As a child, I was always bothered by how Charlie Brown was treated. It really made me sad inside. Oh my goodness, what adult gives a child a rock for Halloween?! That was just so mean.:(:(:(

I also love when Judy Garland sings Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. My DH watches Miracle on 34th Street every year, and I do like that too. To me, Love Actually is very much a Christmas movie, and I adore it.

The one I don't get is It's A Wonderful Life. For some reason, it never did anything for me, but so many people seem to love it.
