Favorite 30 minutes of cardio

After many years of doing only total body weight workouts 3x per week with cardio days in between, I have finally entered the new millenium and started doing split routines focusing on one body part per day. I must admit, I LOVE this way of working out and was inspired to do try this by Cathe's newest vidoes (which I can't wait to get my hands on)! Until we get them, though, I have a question for all of you...

When you're looking to get a great cardio workout in only 30-40 minutes, what are your favorite combos, premixes, etc? I know there are endless possibilites, but I always find myself going for the same few, so I'd love to hear what you all do. Thanks!!!

I really enjoy Low Max. It has two premixes that are only about 45 minutes. But don't be fooled. It's tough.

I love the All Step premix of SJP or a shorter premix of SB.

Also love the step combos only of Body Max 2.

Another pretty short but very fun step workout is to do only the warm up and one step combo from Rhythmic Step. I've done this a few times to help learn the workout.

I have been trying this myself and some of my favorites: The first half of MIC is super tough (all floor), the second half is step and also tough, the first 30 min. of KPC (all floor), 10-10-10 from cross train xpress, or half of any IMAX. The toughest to me for a 30-35 min. workout has got to be the first half of MIC. I sweat so much in that short time! It's tough.}(

The hi/lo portion of MIC - incl warmup and stretch - 37.5 mins.
All the blasts from Low Max - 23 mins.
The KPC Cardio Conditioning Premix - 37 mins.
Drill Max - Timesaver Cardio Premix - 39 mins.
Body Max 2 - Timesaver Cardio Only - 43 mins.

I just got the CTX series for precisely this kind of training and I love it. My favorite right now is the Kickbox and the Power Circuit. If you love this way of training, I recommend the investment, as long as you don't mind the outdated look.

Thank you for all of your suggestions! Please keep them coming!!!

I actually have both CTX and the Timesaver workouts, and I've been doing the cardio from those, but subbing in the Gym Styles for the weight work as I feel those are a bit more thorough than the weight segments in either of those series. But I am LOVING this whole concept! I can't believe it took me so long to finally give in and do splits!!

Ripped Ripa-

I'm a one bodypart/day gal too!!!! If you like training this way, Slow and Heavy is a great one to split up into 1 part/day.

You can pair up the S and H bodypart strength segment w/ a CTX cardio segment, I've done that rotation alot, its awesome!!

Take care, Lynn M.

Another vote for CTX Kickbox and Power Circuit! I also like to do the blasts in KM followed by 2 of the combos (shortened version of the "Bootcamp Challenge" premix). Another favorite of mine is the cardio & lower body premix in BC.

I would chose either Body Max 2 combos only or LIC cardio only premix. Low Max, Kick Max, and IMAX 2 Blasts Only are also fun!

Hardcore Extreme - the premix featuring Imax 3 and Kickmax blasts (omitting the Kickmax Leg Conditioning Drills)
Step Blast - the premix featuring step sections 2, 3, and the challenge.
SJ&P - hi/lo & step cardio circuit
Low Impact Circuit - cardio only premix
Body Max 2 - Step sections 1, 2, 3, and the bonus section (can't remember the name of this particular premix)

THIS IS GREAT!! I am so happy that I saw this post...thanks everyone!

I really love to combine the "blasts" from different step workouts:

W/U and Step Challenge from Rhythmic Step
Blast Challenge from Step Blast
and then it varies
Usually I go with either the cardio blasts from HSTA or HSC
Or if I'm feeling "old school" I'll go with the "blast" bit near the end of CTX All Step AND the end of MIC

This workout is great b/c there's no breakdown in any of these and it has ZERO boredom.

When I only have 30 minutes for cardio, I like to reach for the cardio only premix on Cardio & Weights. I'm a step junkie and this one is really fun, I think.

And, as other posters mentioned, half of any IMAX, or anything from CTX.

If you have Body Max 1 (the original), the step routine Cathe does in the begining of the workout is quite challenging and fun! I think it is around 30 minutes. I like doing that one when I want an intense short cardio workout.
