Fage ideas?

I like the 2%. I've tried the total version out of sheer desperation when the store was out of 0% and 2% and it's not noticeably better than the 2%.

Hi Doreen,
I don't like plain Fage either. Trader Joe's sells a low-fat, flavored greek-style yogurt (their own brand). I like the blueberry but they also have pomegrante and -I think- plain w/ honey. You might want to try it if you have a TJ's in your area.

I get the Trader Joe's 0% fat also. I just got back from TJ's actually, and bought four of them since I only get there every few weeks!

I usually eat mine with some agave and nuts sprinkled in, but I'm excited about trying some of the suggestions that people have posted!:9

I don't blame you. I did by Fage with honey for my SO because so many have raved about it. Of course people love Lara bars which I think are uber disgusting so perhaps I cannot account for taste ;-)

Whenever I see the word "Fage," I think, what a horrible name for a food product. It just evokes a yuck response for me. I love yogurt though. Stonyfield Farms...now that's pleasant ;-)

I use the 0% fat. My local Neighborhood Market just started carrying it. Before that, it was only very small, expensive containers at the health food store. I like to mix in protein powder (usually vanilla), organic granola, honey, and sliced blood oranges. Very good!!! I will have to try out some of the other suggestions.

My FAVORITE yogurt, despite of the name. I mix mine with any kind of fruit and some chopped walnuts or pecans, my favorite fruit being pomegranate. Most of the time I mix the yogurt with my cooked oatmeal, I know it sounds weird, and some fruit, but it is REALLY good! I cannot go without my Fage!!!

The blood oranges sound really good, I have to try that!!!

I buy the tubs of 2% Fage, and sprinkle in a few packets of Splenada with some vanilla extract. Then in the morning, I chop up frozen strawberries, and put a big blop of yogurt on top with chopped pecans. By the time I get to work the straberries are thawed enough to eat, and have kept the yogurt cold. YUM, yum!!!

Make your own Fage style yogurt

I used a tub of organic plain yogurt. I lined a strainer with a coffee filter set over a bowl. Dumped in the yogurt, and set it overnight in the refrigerator. The next morning wa-la, nice creamy yogurt!

RE: Make your own Fage style yogurt

Michelle, I need to try that - the fage is so expensive.

Another thing I like to do is get the frozen mangoes from trader joes, mix a handful of that with the fage and add a little bit of kefir or water, and a little sweetener (I use stevia) and blend. Makes a thick and creamy dessert, almost like mango ice cream. Delicious!!

Kathy, it is really good. Haven't we talked about PB and chocolate being our favorite flavor combo before }( ? LOL! The brand is Whey Gourmet and the flavor is PB chocolate. I get mine at www.bodybuilding.com, but there could be other places that sell it for a more reasonable price.

RE: Tess & Karin -- PB Chocolate protein powder?

Kathy, like Karin said, it is very good. I get mine from bodybuilding.com as well. Last time I bought it, they had the best price I found. You can search for it by brand - it is PVL Whey Gourmet.
