I am totally exhausted and unable to write much but wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support and phone calls. I don't have cell phone on Cardiac floor and you can only get me if you know the password for the family. Which BTW I don't even know!!!! My sisters came to get DS 7 and take him home. Sean and i will be heading home in a few hours. He is much better but his mommy is having a nervous breakdown!!!! I am using one of the computers they let parents use to update family. Apparently the STS traffic is amazing, because I couldn't even get on this morning!!! I am soooo happy for all of you who are ready for your challenge!!!

My son knows all the technical terms (carrdiologist, asytole, glocopyrolate) because he has had this disease since birth and I use them those terms when talking to the docs and nurses and my family, who are also in medicine. So it was very funny yesterday when the night shift nurse asked DS " Why are you here today" and he said. " Oh, it's nothing, I just had a heart attack!!! (BTW it's not a heart attack!!!)

Once we are home we will be snuggled up with blankets watching a movie and relaxing. DH will not be home until Thursday. I wil be so thankful when he arrives. Thank you everyone for calls and email and PM's. I talked my sister thru getting on and reading for me last night. When I have a chance I will return everyone's calls and messages. In the meantime I having a cup of coffee the size of Texas, since you can't have caffeine in the cardiac ICU.
Talk about adding insult to injury!!!

I don't think i can rest for a few days but i want to post a picture my sister sent of Sean with his monitor at home. How cute.

Ellie, please give Sean a super big hug from me and my boys! When I told them what was going on last night Zachary started to cry and asked when we'd be coming to visit again! KIDS!!! They're amazing! And YOU....enjoy snuggling and watching a movie. Will you be able to sleep after that huge mug of coffee, or will your coffee maker be going full steam ahead all day (as USUAL)????? :)

No need to return my phone call unless you need to chat. Take that off your to-do list and just enjoy those gorgeous boys!

Thank you for sharing a picture of Sean. He is adorable! (((hugs))) and kisses.
I will continue to pray for Sean and your family. My heart goes out to you as a mother, I can imagine the worry.

Ellie, thanks for the updates. You guys are such troopers, and Sean's so adorable!!! I thought of you this morning -- we're finally getting a bit of a snowfall and Sean's probably supposed to rest! Go figure.
Oh, well, I'm sure we'll have more snowfalls this winter for you and your boys to play in. Hope you can get some serious R & R. You need it!!!!!

Thanks so much for the update. Your story was adorable and so is that picture of your son you posted. You have two precious boys and an incredibly wonderful family. I bet you hubby is chomping at the bit to get home.

How thrilled you must be to be going home with Sean today. Snuggles and movies are definitely a great choice. Give Sean a great big hug from us....and here is one for all of you ((((((HUGS))))))))

The matter has already been discussed with the proper channels...:D

Being honest here...if I had my choice of you or me on my avatar...I'd have to go with you as well....;) I'm actually pretty stunned she kept my pic up there as long as she did...ahhhh, the power of blackmail...ain't it great!

I never even realized that was you in her avatar. And when I looked at her new avatar, I didn't realize that that was Cathe!! I thought it was 3 kids. (sorry Cathe!)

Hi Everyone

I thought Ellie's update on update on update might sound a little redundant so I'm posting here!!
We ARE HOME!!!
I am drinking COFFEE!!! Lots of it. And it feels soooo good.
Sean is tired and a little out of sorts from the new med. They gave him an atropine like drug. So now I have a 5 yr old boy wired on speed and caffeine (which he takes daily) Thanks Doc!!! Now go home and rest he said!!! :eek:

I am so thankful for all the thoughts and prayers and messages. It was so funny to have my sister say things like "banslug" said Hi and " fitsomething or other" will help if you need her. I laughed because she was sooooo clueless.

I was happy to see the excitement today about STS!!! Everyone is about jumping out of their skins huh??? Please keep me posted.

Both boys are happy to be home and are hoping for more snow tonight. I will have to shovel it though, so I'm not so thrilled. Can't wait for DH to come home on Thursday. Then I will really be able to sleep.

Hi Ellie, I just wanted to chime in with my good wishes to your and your son. As the mom of a DS with cardiac issues I can sympathize a little bit with what you've been going through. I hope that things continue to go well and that he gets used to the new meds quickly.

Enjoy that well-deserved coffee!
