Elevated HIIT Fusion

Finally gave this workout a try - this is the last of the LMRE series workouts that I've done. While I felt her usual oomph was kind of missing from the other cardio titles, this one was definitely HiiT, but you get little mini breaks between cardio sets with some standing weighted core work.

If you really love weighted core work, the "Dumbbells & Core" premix should be a good option for you. I didn't try the premix - it's supposed to be 22 minutes long, so I'm wondering if she doubles up some of the core exercises, or if this one throws in some of the core work from the other workout that's on the same disc? I didn't look.

While I overall dislike HiiT, I appreciated this being a little toned down from all of Cathe's other HiiT titles. When I need a good kick in the butt but don't want to spend more than 30 minutes doing it, I'll be reaching for this title. Again, I think what makes this feel a little more approachable are the standing core exercises between cardio bursts. Gives me a chance for a breather.

Music was decent, and appreciated the somewhat thorough stretch at the end, though I took a little extra time after to do some additional stretching.

I just went and checked out the dumbbells & Core premix and it has the warmup and stretch and repeats all the weighted exercises. That would actually be a pretty good core workout.

I tried this workout 2 days ago. I was expecting to do it once and probably not repeat again, not quite sure why. Maybe because we have so many great workouts. I was so wrong. I ended up loving it. It has just the right amount of impact. I did regular jacks instead of jumping jacks. Cathe packed a lot in it. The sequencing was great. I have to look at the premixes. It will be nice to have a longer premix repeating segments. I can see myself doing it after Perfect 30 low impact for a longer cardio day. I'm so glad we got the dvds for the Elevated set.
