Drill Max

Ok so I'm thinking about purchasing Drill Max. I want a good cardio workout that isnt based on step. I am new to step and would like to master Step Blast before I buy another workout like it. I already own KPC and love it!! I would love to hear what you guys/girls think about Drill Max or if you think there is a better cardio workout I should go for?

Drill Max is simply Da Bomb. The step is utilized in some of the cardio segments, including one full-blown 4/5-minute cardio sequence, but the choreography is very quickly learned. The drills put you to the wall, and the premixes make you feel like you've got 10 different workouts.

Good choice!

Annie, a friend of mine who doesn't do step purchased Drill Max for similar reasons and she loves it! I bet you will too......

Perfect choice! I love the premixes on this one (as have never had the time to do the whole workout in 77 minute form.)

I adore this workout and try to do it at least once a week. I used to prefer the "cardio drills only" but now I'm addicted to the workout as-is. It's such a phenomenal calorie-blaster, the time flies by, and it's just fun fun fun!

I don't know. When I am doing those pushups on the SB time just seems to go sooooooooooooo slow

Haha! mama don't even attempt those. I've come to terms with the fact that I'll just NEVER be able to do them. So I do incline pushups instead. Whatever works, right? :p

I did them all once and have yet to repeat. I agree though, modify, modify, modify!!! :D

The first time you do this WO have a towel handy because you will be

DRIPPING!!!!

Right you are, Tami...

I simply could not get dry enough to even attempt those ball pushups, I would have to try them first thing to see if I could even do them.

I think Allie and I had this conversation before, but we were wondering why Cathe says, after the first drill, "they get harder." Allie and I were of the opinion that the first cardio section is one of the toughest (I think cardio #5 is the toughest) and three and four were the easiet. I used to only do the cardio only premix. But now that I do the workout as-is, I think that Cathe was right in that the circuits as a whole get tougher. This is gonna sound so lame, but I CANNOT do the very last exercise - the pushups into a side plank. I know Cathe and crew are only using 3# weights, but she's essentially doing triceps pushups on her toes, and I cannot do triceps push ups. Triceps pushups are my nemesis!! That said, I love Drill Max!! It's got everything - strength, endurance, functional fitness, cardio, floorwork, seated work, standing work - everything!!

Hey hands down, Drill Max if you do it exactly the way Cathe does is one hard workout and I mean hard. Those core push ups and push ups on the ball. Man, this workout is harder than running 7 miles. My heart is just pumping the whole time and then at the end when you think your about to just drop dead she makes you do that cardio blast where you have to leap around like one of those easter bunny wind up toys and jump around like my 6 year old. I totally agree MODIFY!

I love love love Drill Max. I haven't take step for about 20 years and my first Cathe DVD was an advanced step. It took me a few times before I caught on the the routines. With Drill max, there are no routines to learn and it really kicks butt. I'm reasonably fit and Drill Max is a welcome challenge and motivater. My Goal is to be doing all of those tricep pushups on my toes by christmas. You won't be disappointed.

I LOATHE the first drill. I can not for the life of me figure out why, but I really wish it wasn't in there. I could skip it and do another one twice I guess. But something in me makes me do it LOL!!

I hate the drill with the ball - where you swing it back and forth and do the pendulum with it. bah! my arms want to fall off. But something in it makes me do it too. ;)

Hey Jilly! You're SOOOO right! I shake my head every time I do this workout and Cathe says "be prepared that the drills do get harder as the workout progresses"---so NOT true! I dread, dread, dread the first drill. It's killer! (I also detest the third drill--just because it seems to go on for-ev-er!!!) I agree 100% that drills 1 and 5 are the hardest and 3 and 4 are the easiest.

Every time I do this workout I'm soaked by the end. Literally. Like, I can wring my shirt out. Gross. But it's a good kind of gross. ;):p
