Does anyone get bloating?

I very rarely get it and I usually never get it before I start my period but the last couple of nights, after dinner, I feel so bloated and I never even ate that much. Im not sure if it is b/c TOM is comming or am I sensitive to something and I don't even know it?
Either way, it is very uncomfortable. I ate last night at 6 and by 11 I still felt like I was stuffed and ate to much. Make me not want to eat.(if that makes sense)
Lori:)

Same here. The allergist suggested it was a wheat sensitivity. Also I'm going through lovely menopause which makes it even worse. It's like right before TOM (but nothing ever happens) all the time!

You know those pictures you see of the whales on the beach, dead and all puffed up? Yeah, well, that's me, especially when I'm suffering through PMS.

Where's Shonie on this? I seem to remember some hilarious comment about grazing outside like a freakin' cow:p

I guess most of us do get bloated. I always have, too. However, the past few months I've excelled at paying extreme close attention to my body and it's reactions to different foods/food combinations. I also kept a food journal.

I now know which foods make me more bloated and I've gotten a handle on it. Wheat, dairy, sodium, too much anything with flour in it.

I've cut down on those foods drastically and it's been tremendous. I was hardly bloated during my last period (Road Trip Weekend:eek: ).

I do think certain foods contribute to bloat, but everyone is different.

"Bloat" is practically my middle name!! Recently it has been so bad that I have stopped eating wheat. That seems to have helped. Hopefully it will last!

Um...yeah! What day of the week is it?

Actually, I tend to bloat after eating certain foods...pasta blows me up like a whale!

Take out anything that has a slightest bit of salt at this time, and turn into a fish. But seriously no salt and drink, drink and drink water. It will help with the bloating as it makes your body relase the water (bloat) that it already has and then it all washes out.

Oh honey, the minute I touch something that I "shouldn't" eat, I turn into a beach ball - a really BIG beach ball. I was frustrated last night and took it out on a poor bag of potato chips... (no - not the whole bag, I was fairly reasonable with this one). I had to laugh though, because I decided to do the IMAX3/LowMax/KickMax combo on Hardcore Extreme this morning to work off the chips - glad no one else was up yet - all that jumping resulted in some interesting sound effects.

And during TTOM - oh holy cow - I feel like I am a tire who was just overfilled with air. I hate that feeling.

I haven't felt bloatd since high school. Since I started working out again (this forum is really keeping me motivated) TTOM has come twice and I normally flow for 7 days, but it has been cut down to 5 w/ nothing on the 4th day. It only does this when I have been exercising.:D

Hey Shelley :)

Thanks for thinking of me...since my name IS synonymous with "bloat". Yes...eating grass from my lawn (now almost dead due to sprinkler fiasco) is about the only thing left in my list of "non-bloat" foods. Doing a search for "bloat" or for the messages I have posted shall bring up the info I gave on this subject before. However, here are the things that bloat me, YMMV:
1. Carbonated drinks
2. Dairy (including yogurt)
3. Soy
4. Peanut Butter
5. Chocolate (well...I think it's the milk in the chocolate)
6. Carbs (bread, pasta, rice, snack crackers, cookies, flour)
7. Veggies (specifically corn, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes)
8. Fruits (bananas, apples)
9. Fiber
10. Salt...really makes me puffy...even a small amount
11. Beans (but that could fit in with fiber)
12. Sugar Alcohols (like Sorbitol)
13. Nuts

You tell me what's left?

Okay...tuna, chicken, fish, green beans, a FEW protein bars (Avid Source and a couple of the Zone bars), peas, and my yard grass. Oh...and for some unknown reason -- baked lays BBQ chips are fine. Go figure.

As I get older -- more things affect me and I must eliminate more foods. Where are those pills we used to see on the Jetsons? Those would probably cause bloating too :-(

I don't have a period...so it's not PMS related.

Whoo Hoo...join the bloated girls club!!!! I elect myself president and CEO...however, due to being bloated 24/7, all meetings are cancelled.

maybe something you ate.

I get a little bloated at with TOM, but the few times I tried food with Splenda....Oh MY!!!!!! I was so bloated....I will NOT touch the stuff again.

bloating... flatulence (sp?).. you name it and during TOM I've got it-- everyone just kind of picks up and moves for 7 days until it passes and then everyone comes back home.. no. really. even the cats leave ;)

*Raising my hand here* I gain a couple of pounds during TTOM and it's all water weight. I get so bloated it's not even funny especially in my lower ab area. I take Tylenol women's as soon as I start getting symptoms (a couple of days before my period).
