Does anyone else love plie squats?

I know this will probably shock everyone but yes, I like plie squats...and lunges too, for that matter. I did plie squats last night with resistance tubing and it got me good.

I love them too. Sometimes I feel like I could do them all day (well, not really but a LOT of them). Now plie jacks are another story! I've gotten much better at them but they still kick my butt everytime. EVERYTIME!!!

Hey Charlotte, you got another plie lover here. I've always liked them but when Cathe put the plie squats with the dumbell transfer side to side, it was like falling in love all over again.

I love plie jacks too, despite my long legs I have no problem clicking my heels together.

I tolerate them because I know they're good for me. But I'd much rather do the regular ones.
 
This is interesting because I have always found plie squats to be very easy, no matter what amount of weight I use doing them, I could do plie squats until the cows come home...and then milk the cow while still doing more plie squats. It must be simple body mechanics...these are 'easier' for some people than other's.

And the plie jacks are no problem either. I wonder if I have Susan Harris to thank for keeping my inner thighs toned. I still do that floor exercise where are sitting on the side of your hip, sort of, both legs extended, bend left knee and place foot on floor, place a dumbbell on right inner thigh and then turn toe/leg 'out' to a sideways position (this is very hard to describe) but anyway, once you're in position, lift that leg. This was The Firm Volume One. Great leg workout in that vhs.
 
I like 'em too! I don't like that arm position that Cathe sometimes uses for them thought, so I just use a regular hold with the bar on my shoulders (if using a bar). I also like plie jacks. Much as I moan and groan about them, I love 'em because they work so well. When I first started doing them, I couldn't get much height or do many of them, but now I do them all and click my heels together every time:)
 
Yep,they are my favorite.probably b/c I think they are actually get the inner thighs..but I never cringe when I know I have to do them

I feel the same way about them. I could just walk around in a plie squat position. It just feels more like I am doing a stretch move then anything else. I know I am working it, but really love to feel that stretch. I was doing them yesterday with heavy weight, but I think I can actually go heavier next time. I did them today in L/G. Now I feel all perky!

Really? - I have always found them much harder that regular squats and they tend to hurt my knees if I am not really careful. I do them because I know they are good for me, but I always lower my weight a lot to prevent my knees from hurting.
 
I love plie squats as compared to regular squats too. I love the DOMS from them also. It makes me feel "accomplished".
 
NO! They are the lower body exercise I loathe the most!


Give me regular squats, low ends even, lunges and deadlifts til the cows come home and I'm happy!
