Do you indulge in Birthday Cake?

There were several birthday's mentioned today. And it got me wondering. Do you splurge and indulge in cake on your birthday or do you continue with clean eating and avoid it?

I've already had 1 piece here at work and DD said she made me 1 at home. So I already know, I'm going to have to step up the workouts to burn off extra calories. I guess, I just going to have to keep dreaming that I will ever get these last extra pounds off.

Luckily for me I am not real fond of cake or anything sweet and gooey! I do have a piece of Carrot Cake on my B-Day though. The truth is I am much more of a salt lover....:)

I do. I am a highly superstitious sort and believe that old wives' tale that something bad happens to those who don't partake of the birthday cake.... }(

Jeany-SHUT UP and stick that piece of cake in and ENJOY IT! LOL! You DO KNOW that I am just kidding, right?

Happy Birthday!

I DO indeed indulge. You deserve it. I have ALWAYS believed that a person's BIRTHDAY is the most special "holiday" of the year!

Enjoy the remainder of your day!

Gayle

p.s. I got the other picture frame in the mail today! Thanks!

I eat bday cake whether it's my bday or someone elses :9 :9 . A little piece of bday cake doesn't scare me :D . I figure as long as I don't eat IT every day, a couple of pieces every few months definately isn't going to kill me. Everything in moderation is my creedo!! The minute I refuse myself the opportunity to partake of something I enjoy is the minute I crave it and then binge on it...so I don't feel bad splurging every now and then. They say you should shoot for eating clean 80% to 90% of the time, which I do. So to that I see EAT CAKE:7 :7 !!

Don't you know that calories eaten on your birthday don't count?

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good

Oh, heavens, yes! B'day cakes are fun, and the best part of the fun is that they're made in honor of that special b'day girl, right? So enjoy... but don't eat any more dessert for the rest of the week. ;-)

Mine, close family members', distant relatives, famous people, he!!, I'll eat strangers' birthday cake if it's offered!

ETA - it's a moot point, actually, because nobody ever gets me a cake for my birthday.

Please tell me that you are joking? When is your birthday, I will get you an ICE CREAM cake and a vanilla cake and a chocolate one and a strawberry cake, perhaps an italian creme cake, unless you like buvarian creme, cupcakes - whatever you want! :) :+ But no clowns. :p

Yes I indulge on my birthday. But following BFL, I just switch my free day. I turned the big 40 this year and had Shari's Berries from DH sent to my work, bosses took me out to lunch with dessert, cake for afternoon break and then DH took me out for dinner and we splurged. Normally, I don't quite splurge as much.

You'd better believe that I DO! And with no guilt.

Unfortunately, I'm not joking. I can't remember the last time I had a cake for my birthday.

How about a clown shaped birthday cake?:p

Happy Birthday Jean!!

I thought you were going to ask if I eat birthday cake on other peoples birthdays, which I don't. But on mine?? Definitely. My birthday is total indulgence, and I usually feel like cr*p the next day. But once a year, what the heck.

ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!!

I actually really don't like cake at all, so I don't usually eat it. Though I do definitely indulge in birthday ice cream :9 .

No...I don't care for cake at all. The people at work bought me a cake for my birthday...I thanked them kindly and brought my piece home for DH (so I wouldn't hurt anyones feelings). I would much rather have a bag of pretzels any day. (I'm a salt lover too Carole;))

Robin
ETA: I wouldn't worry about the calories if I enjoyed it...heck, its once a year;)

Yep, count me in!:) Cake isn't something that we eat everyday so when offered I take it in!
Now, when I worked with a airline last yr, our boss use to buy a cake everytime it was someones b-day so it got a little crazy and we would be eating cake at 8 in the morning:eek: Sometimes I would pass and other times I would take it home.
DD's b-day is next week and I can't wait to have some cake!:9
