Do you ever become sooo hungry.............

that you are doubled over in pain??!! I am not a clean eater but I do watch my calories and try to keep the protein on the high side ( and I will admit that I do better on some days than others). But today I am soooo darn hungry that its all I can do to keep from munching without being doubled over with hunger pains:eek: . I really don't know what it could be other than my monthly cycle is due towards the end of this week.:( But I don't normally get this bad with hunger. If it wasn't for the fact that I 'know' I did cardio this morning I would swear it was a heavy lifting day to account for all the hunger. I hate feeling like this knowing that my weight is already up due to my upcoming visitor but I don't want it to climb any higher.:( I hate feeling out of control}( .

Anyway thanks for listening and maybe if I type I won't think of FOOD!!!:7

If you are that hungry, I would eat then. I try to eat every 2-3 hours (BFL here), if I don't I can definitely tell, my energy level drops and I get really really cranky. If I still don't eat at that point, I get nauseous. So I've learned my lesson the hard way!

Annette,

I totally understand where you are coming from!! I am a big eater... I'm not out of control, but I eat a lot. I've always been pretty lucky metabolism-wise. My biggest problem with pain is when I wake up... either in the middle of the night or in the morning. And if I'm hungry at night, I definitely eat. Sometimes, if this goes on for awhile, I just need to eat a HUGE meal. I know this sounds incredibly silly, but sometimes I just need a gigantic, filling, unhealthy meal. So it's off for a double bacon cheeseburger and fries, and then I'm ok for a long time (usually). Not only will it take care of my ravenous appetite, but also my cravings. And I generally don't end up eating way too many extra calories, because I just don't eat as much for the next day or so... I'm just full and happy :) My problem probably isn't even remotely related, but I hope you feel better! I am definitely worse at that time of the month, too. But not to the point of pain.

Good luck :)

I think I know what you mean. When TTOM is on its way, I am absolutely ravenous! I feel like I need to eat with both hands! And it's always carbs I crave. I want cookies, cookies, cookies! Funny thing is, I've never been a sweet eater, not even as a kid. It's only been since my early thirties that I've felt this way, and it gets worse all the time.

I usually avoid the worst of it by eating alternative carbs--potatoes, a little rice with Splenda--good carbs. That will take the edge off enough to fight the urge to go on an all-out binge. I'm not doubled over with pain, but if I wait too long to do something about, I feel frantic and desperate. Sure wish I knew what caused it (other than that monthly visitor). It's a very dangerous time for me. Very, very hard to stay in control.

My worst hunger was when I was on prednisone. Increased appetite is one of its side effects. I was hungry all the time. When I went to bed at night, I'd be thinking about what I could have for breakfast! And of course, I couldn't get enough of the high carb stuff.

Under normal circumstances, when I have strong hunger pains, irritability and/or the shakes, I figure that's a sign my blood sugar is off. I think it helps to include some protein with a carby snack.
