plz, i really don't care who voted for who,b/c i just don't care LOL. just asking who got out early this morning(or last week or whatever) and voted. how long are your lines? did you see more voter turn out then previous years?

there were alot of ppl(more then usual) today but i only waited maybe 35 min. for those with last names a-f WOW what a line luckily i kept my maiden name so the line wasn't as long LOL, poor dh though he is going to be awhile plus he lost his voters card(somewhere in the house it was in a box when we moved LOL) and change of address card from DMV so he has to show his id and sign this paper while waiting in the a-f line. :p guess he should have set his alarm clock too. i got there as early as i could. some have already voted by taking advantage of early voting at DMV. i am more watching the congressional votes though. really looking to keep my ppl for congress, its the governor i want to get rid of LOL.

happy voting

Just curious where are your voting stations? Here in Canada a lot of them are in the school gyms, apartment buildings, etc.

I voted by absentee ballot. I work outside my precinct (well, actually outside my state) so it's easier for me. I leave for work before my precinct opens and sometimes don't make it home by the time the polls close.

If I voted in person, I would have voted at a school. Most of the voting stations are in schools or churches/places of worship.

many in this district are at the larger churches. i don't think,at least in this city, that they do any at the schools but i could be wrong. i think where my MIL lives(out in the boonies LOL)she has to go to high school or the old courthouse.

I voted and there was absolutely no line. It was in the high school cafeteria. I think most of the polling places here are in schools, public libraries, etc.

They did tell me that there were lines earlier in the morning, before people went to work.

My state ( washington) has gone to all mail voting. I voted more than a week ago.
Before we switched to all mail voting, I voted by absentee for 20 years since I traveled for work a lot and also the primary elections were always on a week when we took vacation. If you can get to mail voting status it is delightful. I would never go back to standing in line in the dark.

I voted this morning before work. Got there at 7, was done by 7:15. The lines were short, but I live in a small town, so I wasn't expecting huge crowds anyway. They were saying on the radio that there people were waiting in line for 1.5 hours to vote in Peoria - yikes!

I voted in GA this a.m. In at 7:05, out at 8:45 and I actually got to work earlier than if I had left on time. Everyone else was probably still waiting in line!

I just voted. In and out in less than like five mintues! Yay for working at home now - no long lines in the afternoon!

I'm going to head out shortly. I vote at the local high school, and I left this morning about the same time the students get to school, so I figured I'd avoid that mayhem. Fortunately, I work very close to my home, so leaving in the middle of the day is easy for me.

A little bit of voting triva - Ever wonder why we vote on the first Tuesday in November? I just heard this on the news and thought it was interesting. November was picked because it is after the crops are in and before the roads are impassible in the winter. It’s on a Tuesday because in the olden days people had to travel miles to vote – often to the nearest town. Sunday was a day of rest and no one would travel, so Monday was the traveling day. People would arrive to their destinations late Monday, vote Tuesday and head back. So if anyone asks you why we vote on the first Tuesday in November – there ya have it!
