Did I really just see this?

Folks, I can't make this stuff up . . .

About an hour ago DH were cruising through the parking lot of a fairly large strip mall on our way to our favorite big-box restaurant. This strip mall includes a PetSmart, where you can bring your pets to cruise the aisles (which I think is kinda cool).

Fairly far away from the entrance of the PetSmart, in a part of the parking lot where no cars were parked, DH and I saw a woman standing next to her dog, which looked like a German Shepherd. We watched with increasing disbelief as the dog's hind quarters slowly sank down, there appeared the unmistakeable upside-down V crook of the tail, and that damn dog did a poo right there on the concrete! The woman watched and waited, then calmly tugged his leash and they walked away together, all six feet (paws?) of them.

I truly had thought I'd seen everything, but I guess I still gotta lotta lookin' to do.

That is one of my major pet peeves (no pun intended). The worst is when I am running the sidewalks in my 'hood and have to dodge the deposits. YUCK!

Go to any Walmart and as often as not there is usually a dirty diaper in the parking lot.

If you gotta go you gotta go. She should have picked it up thoughh.

DH and I were inside a pet store, passed a guy with a husky, went to the next aisle and there was a giant watery poo in the middle of the aisle. We assumed due to the amount that it was the dog we had just seen. We couldn't believe that guy would just leave the poop in the middle of the store! What is wrong with people?

The look on the face of the kid who worked at the store who was asked to clean it up was priceless, however.

Wow. That is all I can say.

And by the way - people's dogs do that in our front yards while they walk them and I SEE them, and THEY SEE ME SEE THEM and they still just move along. Wow. But I am too passive to say anything...

If i caught them I'd just say um, excuse me you seemed to have dropped something. :p I never catch them in the act though.

I live in a subdivision in Houston, Texas and have looked out my window many times and have seen people who let their dogs (who they are casually walking down the sidewalk in front of my house) take a "poo" in my yard. They also pee on my trees and other flowers that I have spent money and time keeping up (urine is not good for grass, trees and flowers!) Isn't that SOOOO disrespectful? It would be one thing if they picked the poo up, but they don't (urine's different of course!). I have to mow my yard and get really ticked off every time I step in poo! I would never let that happen if I owned a dog (which I don't), so why do people do it to others!!

Reminds me of a funny story. When my husband and I lived in Hermosa Beach, CA -- where there are tons of people (and dogs) in just a few square miles -- a woman let her dog poop on the busy sidewalk right outside our house and left it there. My husband was steaming mad, so he picked it up in a bag and rode his bike furiously down the street looking for the woman. He found her seated outside at a cafe, handed her the hot, steamy, bag of poop, and said, "I think you forgot this" (in a not very nice tone, I'm sure). Then he left. He said she looked mortified.

It also reminds me of a man I saw in a grocery store parking lot, also when I lived in Hermosa, who opened the door of his fancy BMW and proceeded to empty the entire contents of a small garbage can on the ground smack in the middle of the parking lot. He must have seen the horrified look on my face, because as he drove out, he made it a point to drive by me, roll down his window, and say, "You got a problem with something?" If I'd have been working out with Cathe at the time, I would've taken him on for sure.

Have a great night,
Deborah

Oh boy, not me! I've gone after people and let them know exactly what I think. In our city, you can get fined for not picking up after your dog. One guy I went after said he didn't see his dog crap, but I watched him watch it do it, then he looked around (he didn't see me) and proceeded to walk away. He did pick it up after I confronted him.

What I find pretty rude is that in front of our Pet Smart they have a dispenser that has the "tools" to pick up the "droppings" and dispose of the properly.

Really no excuse for that behavior !

Umm - don't they have containers in the parking lot for clean up by Petsmart (and the aisles in the store)?

I would have yelled something . . . I just know it.

What's worseis when they poop on school grounds

I live near an elementary school. And walking through the grounds, on weekends, I sometimes notice poo on the grassy playgrounds. Kids play there during off-school times, and having poo around is not that great.

I thought the same thing...

The woman's an idiot who makes it harder for the rest of us dog owners who actually carry around our wag bags and pooper scoopers to travel with our pups.

I think I would have drove up to her & said "Mam, I think you forgot something back there!"

Geez, some people!

LOL!:D:D:D

My neighbor (a senior citizen) walks her tiny little poodle to my front yard to take a poo pretty often. It is kind of rude but I'm not too annoyed. I know I should be, but I'm so amazed by the age of this little precious poodle. She's almost 20 years old and struts her little body like she's 2 years old. I love to see senior dogs living the good life. I wish the senior owner had better sense. Anyway, they are little doodles so my lawn mower can handle it. :p

Yes, because my dog decided it was time to go right before we went in to get her groomed there....and I was thankful that it was there so I could clean it up.

As a dog owner, I'm not surprised that the woman didn't clean up after her dog. I see this all the time. In my development, dog owners are supposed to pick up their dog's poop. Many folks do, but many don't. It drives me nuts. I have a dog and I don't like to have poop in my yard either--whether from my dog or someone elses. But I'm probably at the other end of the spectrum: When Ripken poops, I'm right there with the bag under his butt to make sure it doesn't hit a blade of grass. That way I don't have to worry about the neighborhood kids running barefoot through the grass. It's just not good to have laying around.

Well, in 5 years, my dog NEVER will poo when she's on the leash, which makes long road trips interesting. Anyway, the other day, when we were on a walk in the neighborhood, she actually did it on someone's lawn. I didn't have a bag with me, because she hasn't done this once in 5 years, so I hurried back home, grabbed a baggie, then drove to the person's home on the other side of the 'hood and went to pick it up, and the homeowners caught me and were totally confused, especially because I didn't have my dog with me when I had gone back. I felt pretty stupid having to go through the whole explanation of why I wasn't prepared the first time around, but they were just happy that I went back to pick it up and even let me toss the bag in their trash rather than bring it home with me. Now I carry them with me because she's decided that she likes to have a poo while walking.
