Did half of POWERHOUR last night ..........

OMG !!!!!!!!!!! :eek: ! How I ache ! and I only used an 8# body bar, and 4# dumbells !!!!!!!!!!! AND, I only did half of the workout !!!!!!!

My hamstrings hurt so much, but it is a very pleasurable ache ! :) I can't wait to eventually do the whole tape, which will probably be tomorrow night !!!!

So glad I own this tape........... I was definitely very 'toasty' last night !!!!!!!!!

If you don't own this workout, I highly recommend you invest in it !
 
Yeah, PH is a killer!

And I realized why this workout NEVER gets easier. Because you increase weight periodically over the course of weeks/months, so just as it MIGHT be easier for you, you've increased the weight, therefore making it just as difficult as the 1st time you did it. And the burn from the lunges NEVER ceases! Sometimes I expect my quad muscles to just burst wide open, and capillaries to come bursting through the skin and flail madly around (sorry for the graphics) like some bad horror movie scene! Never happens of course, it just FEELS like it might!

I know what you mean about the burn in the thighs, they ache so much ! My 2 year old daughter was bouncing up and down on my legs (she likes to do this :-rollen) this morning, and OUCH it hurt 'Oooooo' !

Dread those moves, but boy do they work!!!

Kids bouncing on your quads afterwards: i know how it goes!!!

Oh geez... I'll be doing S&H and PS for the next 3 weeks and then it's back to PH. I was doing it once a week (usually) for quite a while a few months back and while I love the workout it gives me, it NEVER gets any easier! It's in my lineup after these next 3 weeks are over - yikes!

Yep,this is a great tape. Have you purchased Circut Max yet? I tell you, when I can't get my run in and I have some lifting on my schedule, this tape does the trick. It is a doozie! Power hour has great music and I love the way she warms up....almost like you don't know thats whats happening :).

Half the workout! That's is great! About a week and a half ago on a Saturday evening I put in Power Hour. Granted I had been up since 5:15 a.m and on the go all day. I put in PH that evening did the warm-up ONLY and felt pooped! :) So I paused the workout and did some kickbacks. While doing the kickbacks I had an idea. So I hit rewind and repeated the warm-up. Then I pulled out my step bench and did some chest work and triceps extensions. THEN I called it a day! ;) I couldn't do any more. I don't know if it was fatigue or fear of what was to come if the warm-up tuckered me out!

Sunday when I woke up I was sore! It was so funny! Trust me you're doing wonderful. I wish I could make it through half that workout! I used to be able to! I wonder what happened? :) My barbell wasn't loaded heavily.

This just means it's time for me to get to work! :)

When I began with Powerhour, I used what I considered to be very "wimpy" weights, that is, until I felt the burn! And I skipped the lunges entirely. You WILL get better, though! I went from 12# tricep extentions (and those were tough!) to 25, and I'm planning to go up soon. I'm also able to do all the lunges now. Of course, I usually take 2x the break between segmetns that the crew does....but let's not talk about that! ;-)
 
I LOVE power hour.Everything about it is great.Now that you got me thinking I may do that tape tomorrow morning.I love the music to.

Yes, I have Circuit Max, which I absolutely love, and for some strange reason prefer to Imax. Not sure about getting Body max yet, it sounds very scary :eek: !

My buddy and I did PH yesterday afternoon...we both decided to go a bit heavier and just leave out a rep or two if needed. I don't know about her, but I am SO SORE today. And I really need to do some cardio later. We'll see if my bod holds up! But despite our complaining and grunting (thru the WHOLE workout!), I secretly love being sore...we worked hard! I *should* be this sore! I'm lovin' this workout, too! CinDee

You are doing great. You're kickin' butt. Just keep working on it. Remember when we used to preview the video with our jaws dropped on the floor?? Well, guess what, we're doing them now!!
I did PH last night, and it is so tough!!! It never gets easier (while your doing it) thankk goodness, but my soreness nowadays after PH pales in comparison to how it used to be...3, 4 days later, I was still sore. No more. Guess I'm used to it (well as used to it as a person can get LOL) and no wimp are you on the lunges. sheesh, if you're a wimp then I am a wimp too, cause I use my 9 lb body bar for that first set. Then for the second set, I use 3 lb dumbbells (and when I started doing PH, I used no weights on the second set for quite a while). Sometimes I cannot make it through the very last 2 up, 2 downs, at the very end (after the 2 sets of 7 low-ends). Last night i was cooked after those low ends. I'm always cooked after those low ends. And when I do make it through the 2 up 2 down last set, I feel like amazon woman. Like, 'something's wrong with me!! I made it throught ALL the lunges!" LOL

Thankyou for your kind words, though I am wondering if an 8# body bar was too much for such a weights novice, over the shoulders ??? Maybe I should of used my 4# dumbells !!

I'm glad to hear the soreness diminishes over time - how often do you do Power Hour ?
I have just received my barbell, so now I will have to resist temptation tonight to use it (I am doing the second half of PH tonight after Cardio Kicks).
My legs though were shaking like a pneumatic drill, after those lunges ! LOL
I have my 5# dumbells now, and a spare 5# disc with which to do the holding the disc out in front type thing, so I am all set for tonight now !

Keep up the good work Kathy !! :D
