Did anyone watch Thintervention last night?

Hmm I just requested this book from the library but maybe now I should buy it? Thoughts?? I'm very interested!! I need to learn how to eat better.

I watched it on hulu this morning - part of it - then finished it tonight when I got home! I like it! I like that they're not in it for money, but for, hopefully, the right reasons! At least, more of the right reasons than on BL!

P.S. I despise cottage cheese! Or any cheese for that matter! LOL!

I despise cottage cheese!

Me too. I can't bring myself to eat it. Something about the texture and the saltiness makes me want to hurl. I even tried the low sodium kind and nope, not happening.

I finally watched the DVR last night; this is going to sound mean but I was kinda hoping Joe wouldn't lose anything so he would leave the show. He is SUCH a jerk!!!! What negative energy. Actually, the only ones I like are the British chick, Jeanna, and the mother & daughter. Everyone else whines too much.

I don't like the British alcoholic-in-denial either.
I think the only ones I would root for are the mother/daughter team and the gay guy.

I just posted about this book a couple weeks ago. I think the book is great and I have been following the eating somewhat and have cut my cravings down bigtime and I finally feel satisfied and do not thinlk of food all the time like I did before. I am not bloated all the time like I was and I feel good. I loaned the book out to a friend and she is gonna try it. I also got a book called 40-30-30 which goes along with the same eating but goes more in depth about the glycemic index and balancing carbs, proteins and fats out to balance insulin and lose wt. I am also going to take a nutrition class that goes along with this eating plan. I dont have alot to lose but want to lose another 5 lbs. I have lost about 5 lbs in 4 weeks and havent been strict with it either but I have been eating way better than I was and its the first time in my life that I have been able to follow a plan this well and have seen results without feeling starved all the time. I give her a big thumbs up!!!!!

I think the British chick is hysterical! I don't like that she is obviously an alcoholic, but she does crack me up with her comments! I love that they whine! It makes me laugh that they think they're working "so hard!" None of these people are as big as some of the contestants I've seen on BL! I think I'm going to like this one so much better!

i didnt get to see it yet, but i listened to an interview. jackie said the goals for wt loss were a combo of consult with dr of safe wt loss and the time frame of the show. BL has a very long, almost a yr, time frame.
i aggree too that i didnt like when people were voted off, in almost every case. much prefer the team cooperation.
i think the earlier seasons of BL had less sponsors. they are more annoying now for sure.
love the idea of lots of tips and making it work in real life, not in a box. work smarter not hours in gym, sounds like my dh.

Hubby and I watched it last night. We both enjoyed it and love the tips. We were surprised by the two cookie punishment and how many times up/down stairs it took. I thought going up/down stairs burned more calories but I guess not.

I think it is a more realistic approach to weight loss than BL as they are at home and trying to change the way they do things in a normal environment. I will still watch BL but I also like that Jackie doesn't yell and scream like Jillian does. My hubby said after the show, where was all the screaming?

Agree with earlier comments about the annoying contestants - but I expect that now from reality TV. People overact because they want to be on the show.

BUT - what I liked most about the show was Jackie. I did not like her or the other trainers in her earlier show (Workout?) but I really like her in this show and I like that she's focused on the people needing to lose weight. I went out and picked up the book and like that it really seems to complement the show (so far). I hope they continue with the tips and focus on weight loss/fitness rather than interpersonal drama.

DH needs to lose a good 40-50 pounds and he's excited about her program. In just flipping through the book, I like how simple it is - just what he needs.

Question for anyone following her book...are you following her exercise plan as well? I'm wondering how it works for more experienced exercisers.
