Damage Controllers think Sundays are...(fill in the blank girls!)

Good Morning Peeps!

I am up and atem because DH had to get up to go to work. I was still sleepy but as soon as I woke up my mind starting working and there was no more sleep in the cards for me. *sigh*

So I really don't know about this kick class. I haven't completely ruled it out yet but honestly don't hold out much hope that I'll get my lazy arse moving early enough for that. :p Stay tuned to find out.....:D

Jen:: So didja get all the housework knocked out so that you can kick back today? I haven't been wearing my pedometer lately....I also haven't been going for walks. Shame on me. :( Go ahead, tell me. How many steps did you log y'day? Thanks re the interval run. It was short but I intended it that way. :) So how did you enjoy Shape It Up? I know you hate floorwork for legs (sorry there is alot of that in this series!). What about otherwise? Did you use the music off option? That's the only way I can do it. I am finding the work outs extremely tolerable and actually enjoyable these days! Coupled with my new eating I am seeing some great results! I am thinking that an Insanity/SS rotation might be a good idea down the line...

Diana:: Ooooh LL and KPC sounds like an awesome lower body combo! Are you sore today? LL always makes me sore. So does B&G. YEOWCH! Yes it's odd for me to want Insanity, I know. I didn't want it at first for that exact reason (fear of cardio over-load) but I figure I can use it any way I want to! The jury is still out on doing the program as produced. I think I would opt to use it differently for while at first and make a decision from there. I think I'm going to be giving the preview disc another try on wednesday. That's my next cardio only day. As for the GWF, I will not totally discount it as an option but have decided to hold off on it's purchase anyway since I am starting to see progress since I changed things up with my eating. If I can do this on my own, I will! If my situation changes and I begin to struggle again (or worse-start gaining it back and can't control it!) then I will reconsider the purchase. By then you and Jacque should have it all figured out so with Jen included, I'll have 3 brains to pick if there is something I am having trouble with. ;)

Jacque:: BC pills can cause weight gain....perhaps if you decide to go off them then you will lose a few pounds automatically. That would be a good thing, right? :) Gosh, I haven't been on BC in ages. The last time I was on anything was in my mid 20's. I took the depo provera shot. Great idea....in theory...but I quit it after 6 months. It almost cost me my relationship!!! I gained some weight which didn't please me but beyond that I was the moodiest, crankiest, most unhappy person to be around! My boyfriend was ready to dump me....or maybe even kill me! LOL We realized though, just in the knick of time, what the problem was and I stopped taking it. OMG it was awful!!! I tried the pill for a short time but always forgot to take it so that didn't last very long. Well now that you have the GWF and are slowly figuring it out, I think the weight will start to come off!

WOW am I chatty today! LOL

Let me get this posted and I'll be back in a bit to see who is around! :)

So I looked up from what I was doing and noticed that it was 8am already. I'm not even dressed yet and neither is Joey. No kick class for me this morning! *sigh*

Good Morning girlies!! Sundays are Spectacular :p

I just rolled out of bed a half hour ago, which would make that 9:15! Okay, I'll just say it...."Hi, my name is Jen, and I'm a sleepaholic." ;)

So the plan is to do Firm It Up today, and if I have the opportunity I may add in a short run. That's all going to depend on what the kids are demanding and how the rest of the day plays out.

Wendy: Well missy, no fair skipping out on the floorwork! If I had known that I would have given myself permission to do that too ;) Heh, better I didn't know then, huh? I liked Shape It Up yesterday. I really felt worked out at the end. Did you hear me swearing in Jersey during the floorwork though? Ugh, I hate that stuff. I do subscribe to the school of thought that if I hate it I probably need it though, so I suffer through it. I decided to use the music option on for this week, just because it has been ages since I looked at any of these workouts and I figure I'll just get a feel for them as they are for this week. Next week I'll get rid of their cheesy music and add my own. Only 11,646 steps for me yesterday. That's a slow day for me ;) However, I did burn 2332 cals so i guess it doesn't matter. I'm curious to know how you're adding in more fats. I've been following a low fat diet lately (for various reasons, including it's what my stomach handles best these days), but I've been considering that it may be too low. Are you reducing carbs at the same time? Um, no...didn't get all the housework done yesterday  Maybe today???

Hello to everyone else! Will bbl after breakfast and a workout!

Jen

Hey hey.

Just finished part A of my work out a little while ago. LOL I did the warm up and floor work from Shape It Up just like I promised I would and then did half of Firm It up. I stopped it at the floor work and will finish it up this afternoon. Now I am heading off to the gym again. I am going to walk on the treadmill and let Joey hang out and play for a while in the daycare room. He wants to go so hey, why not? It'll keep him happy and busy so he doesn't drive mamma crazy! :p

I'll be back with personals around lunch time!

Later babes!:D

Hello girls

Helllllllooooooo Damage Controllers!

Had a storm roll thru at 5:30 this morning #*&^$#@!*&! So, I've been up since then and on the computer and thought I'd stop in and say 'Hi' to you girls. Forgive me, but I haven't been peeking in on you all lately so I'm really out of the loop. Or, maybe you could say I'm loopy? Well, that's what happens when I get up so darned early.

I have only had time to peek in on the OF every now and then. It seems like the summer has just flown by! We are getting ready to take off again this week for the MI nascar race. Then we have a couple of more camping trips planned and sadly the summer will be over.:( Although, DH and I will be going to Vegas in November for a wedding so we DO have that to look forward to.:)

As far as rotations go, I am smack in the middle of CLX right now and really like the short and sweet workouts. I'm also getting decent results so I just can't complain. I'd like to get more running in, but I just haven't been doing much of that lately. I'm looking at getting the Incline Trainer at Sears the next time I get in town....I need to try it out first and make sure the track is long enough for my height. A 40% incline would be KILLER with a CC workout. I really need to invest in a TM.

So, who's ordered Insanity??? How do you like it? Wendy - I would be amazed if you don't have this one.:p

Just wanted to say I'm still alive and kickin' and hope you all have a great Sunday afternoon!!!

Waves to Wendy, Jacque, Laura, Diana & Jen. My apologies to whoever I missed. My mind is not working very well today.

See ya

Angie

Hi Ladies,

Sundays are for sleeping in! I would sleep in every day if I could. It didn't used to be this way though. I was actually telling DH how stressful it was for me when my boys were younger. I remember yelling at them every morning to hurry up and get ready, they would be crying...I would be crying. Trying to get them to daycare so I could get to work on time. I much prefer this stage of life where I can sleep in.

Last night DH and I went to my nephew's house. He has texas hold'em tournaments so I tagged along. I visited with my nephew's wife and their kids. I thought it would be pretty rowdy but it was actually very calm. DH said the guys that play at my nephews are really serious, they are their to win-not have fun. Sometime DH doesn't go play just because it isn't as much fun as he would like. DH ended up getting out early so we just visited and played with kids, it was a very nice evening.

Today calls for GS C&T, and I'm adding in BM2 cardio. I haven't been getting in my cardio and it really shows. I gained 2lbs this last week. I'm increasing my water intake since it has been pretty low the last 2 weeks and also making sure I get some kind of cardio every day.

Wendy-the kicks class sounds fun...Is it kickboxing? I could feel my backside when walking up the stairs yesterday. So far I don't feel much today but I've only walked downstairs and am sitting at the computer! Kickboxing after leg work always seems to minimize the DOMs for me.

Jen-Floorwork is a necessary evil for me. It's so different from doing weights and its always so much harder than I think it should be. I'm so impressed with your step count. I'm obviously much to sedentary. I had trouble reaching 5K steps without doing an aerobic workout. I sit at a desk all day and many times only had around 300 steps from the time I left home and got to my desk. Pathetic I say.

Hi Angie...you snuck in on me. So nice to hear from you. I know how much you hate mornings too... At least the storm didn't knock out your power!

Sounds like you are enjoying the summer..Jerod is getting ready to go back to school. He starts football this week....I really want Insanity and am asking for it for my bday. I did the first 2 months of CLX and moved on to STS. I couldn't let STS sit around... I've pretty much decided I'm going to sell CLX, simply not my kind of workout. I do really like Chalene's personality and enjoy the cardio w/o's in the series.

Thanks for dropping in...Your welcome to chime in anytime, everyday if we could convince you to come back:D

Sunday's are Good/Bad - Good = no work/Bad = work tomorrow

Last night I did a 4 mile SS run and logged about 380 per GWF and 460 per HRM. Not as large of a diff. Made it to 7/cal/min burn, down to 5.2/min at 1 hr later and 3.5 a half hour after that. The HIIT took 2 hrs til 3.4/hr. So really either was a pretty good workout. Haven't uploaded the GWF yet to see the stats there.

Definitely upped my cals y'day as I imbibed  in quite a few CAB's so not the best way to add cals ! "Ingested" approx 1950 so will be interesting to see what happens. Did hit my 10K steps right after the TM run started and didn't really sit down from 12 - 9PM at all as I was gardening and shopping. Hope the cal burn was up there !

Wendy - yep I'm hoping a little refrain from stopping the BC's - even on them I was getting moody again so it is hormones - Dr is suggesting HR for a couple years probably so we'll see. Need to finish reading my 'menopause' book to see what Dr. Northrop said. Don't remember it was so long ago. ITA about you getting GWF it you have it figured out yourself - why bother? It does take some time but I just couldn't get it myself - more so didn't trust to eat more or that I was burning over 2K cals a day. Hope it is correct ! ;) Good job on the workout - great idea to walk on the TM and let Joey play - killing two birds with one stone there ! :p

Sleepaholic - oooops, I mean Jen ! :D That was a good one ! You must have needed it - should make for some great energy today. What ! <as she falls off her chair onto the floor> I hit more steps than you yesterday ! LOL ! Well that is a def rarity. And of course on the day Miss Wendy "calls on you" to fess up ! Enjoy your workouts - you two have me contemplating viewing SS. I am thinking I need some heavy weight work here soon though as I feel my legs are losing their tone. Perhaps GS for me next week with an extra leg day . . . Hope you get the rest of your housework done - guess Sunday could be called "deadline" day for chores !

Diana - for the trip count did you hold the button until it reset to -0- right before you began your workout? What the button does is calc from either 1)the last time it synced with the armband or 2) from the time you reset it to -0-. HTH. I leave it there so I can see how long it takes for my cal/min burn to slowly go back to normal. (afterburn effect). How did your workouts go y'day? I did get 3 hrs of gardening in and 2 hrs of shopping along with laundry so got a great start. I always plan for waaaaay more than I accomplish, but at least it helps me keep track of what I need to do.

Enjoy the day ladies - today is a rest day for me so I think I may do Stretch Max as my upper back did not want to relax while I was running yesterday.

Toodles for now . . .

Angie - you got me too ! Have seen a couple of your posts on OD. Sounds like you have been uber busy - at least lots of it taking trips is good ! Keeping up with shorter workouts is the best when time is short - I always loved the 4DS and XTrain Express for those reasons. Sorry about the storm but at least all is OK. DH would be jealous of the Nascar race ! Enjoy and pop in any time ! Thank for letting us know how you are !

Diana - well nice to hear you had a good time last night. We were watching Face the Ace last night while your DH was playing ! Texas Hold'em is a fun game but ITA about being too serious. My BIL played with a group of guys and once they added wives - it was a blast and low key. Will be anxious to see if the DOMS kick in later after your workout y'day. Hope the GWF will help you dial in your exercise plan - cardio is a major factor to my weight maintenance too ! While doing STS every time I'd skip a cardio day and eat normal I'd gain. Water and cardio should do the trick.

OK - hope no one else snuck in again ! :p

Off to get the day started !

Sorry to "hog" today's thread but I'm a bit excited as GWF shows a 2600 cal burn due to my gardening (400 cals for 2.5 hrs weeding) and 2500 steps (shopping). Total steps was only 12,500. Funny that for an hour this AM while I know I was asleep, the GWF did not log I was even lying down? Wonder if I turned the armband somehow?

This definitely shows what a downer having a desk job can be. I always thought the weekends were more sedentary but guess not. Since today is a "rest day" I better keep up my movement in order to keep the cal burn up there.

Awwww - you girls are sooo sweet. I've missed you all. It feels good to finally have a day at home alone to just do whatever I want! I knew it was going to be a hot and humid day, so I worked my tail off last week so I could get some couch and computer time today. Ahhhhhhhh - but I need to get my butt downstairs and get my workout done so I can indulge in some CABs too.;)

Ah, so you girls took the plunge on the GWF? It is an interesting little gadget isn't it? I need to track calories while wearing it so I can have BOTH intake and output numbers. Thus far I have only worn the thing and not tracked calories. I KNOW my eats are not very good. But at least the garden is starting to finally produce, so hopefully after next week's race week, the eats will get better. I'm not even going to bother wearing it next week.....there's really no sense in it.:p

Diana - I'll bet Jarod is stoked for school to start. Cody isn't doing football this year but he'll be a Freshman and he's going thru the 'teenager' stage. Ack! He also got his drivers permit this summer......yikes!
Didn't like CLX? I'm halfway thru push and I am digging it. Although, I'm getting mighty bored with the same ole' warmup and cooldown. RevAbs and Insanity is on my list of things I want too. But, I really need to dig out the KB's again since I have 3 AOS workouts I haven't even tried yet.

Jacque - Oh, I love 4DS and XTE too. So many choices, so little time ya know? LOL
Those are some great numbers on the GWF. I was also amazed at how a day of housework fares on it. But, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.....when I stop to answer the phone, I break out in a sweat...I just don't notice it while I'm working. How's your garden doing? Everything here is really late this year.
Yup, been really busy but having a lot of fun too! It's nice to have things to look forward to. DH has definitely loosened up the last couple of years and is more willing to 'get outta dodge' and not worry so much that the business will suffer while we're gone. I think he's finally realized that life's too short to let work constantly get in the way. He's a workaholic but he's getting better!

Gotta go do PUSH 1.........

Angie

Hi Ladies,

Back to report that GS C&T, and BM2 cardio are done. This time I got the tripometer to work. GWF actually reported a higher cal burn of 592, my HR monitor showed 578. Still quite within reason IMO.

Jacque-this GWF is becoming quite an addiction. As i'm getting more comfortable with it I love it more and more! It seems to be pretty accurate calculating my sleep patterns.

Angie-I did like CLX and really like Chalene's personality. I could lift much heavier for legs and felt that I never got the type of leg training I needed. I actually never got to the 3rd phase, isn't that push? I did the first month and half and then STS arrived and I started that right away. I'm planning on doing another STS rotation after Cathe's new cardio workouts are released. I recently did 2 weeks of kb's. Need to throw those in every now and then. Good luck with having a teenage driver. Don't miss those days....still have a few years before I have to worry about that with Jerod.

I need to get out of my wet clothes. Tonight we are going to my nieces 16th birthday party. It's at an outdoor pool, the kids are planning on swimming but I plan on staying dry.

Hope everyone is enjoying thier weekend.

Okay my work out was done in bits and pieces today but I DID get it done. ALL of it! I did Shape It Up floor work and half of Firm It Up this morning followed by a 30 min TM walk followed by the 2nd half of Firm It Up. About 2 hours all totaled but not a crazy hard work out and it was split up between the hours of 9am and 3pm too!

No time for personals. Heading out to hang with a friend for a bit this evening.
I'll catch up in the morning!

Hugs!

Okay, I was just about ready to leave and now my friend is running late so I have a little bit of time....

Jen:: So ya blew off the housework y'day? Good for you girl! :D I'm bad. I know it. :p As for fats I am just eating more of the healthy fats I've always eaten like nuts, olive oil, dark chocolate ;), etc. I will now allow myself to have cheese on my sandwich at lunch if I want it. I never would in the past because it would drive my fat intake up to a point where it would be too hard to keep it in the range I used to use previous to this. I was always one to keep my fat intake between 20 and 25% when I am tracking but have now upped it to about 30 and for whatever reason it seems to be helping. I have heard that TOO low fat of a diet is not healthy but I don't know what that means exactly-what percentage?? As for carbs I try not to go above 50% which leaves protein at 20% which I think is good. Once in a while I will hit the Zone Diet macros of 30P/30F/40C but I don't do it consistently enough to see any noticable difference. It's very hard for me to cut carbs out of my diet. I don't know what else to eat!? Get rid of the cheesey SS music NOW girl! It'll be soooo much more fun with out that crap in your ear! LOL You won't notice how off beat Debbie is! :p LMAO at you swearing so loud you could be heard in NJ! I've done that during various work outs in my time as well! Tee hee! ;) No pain, no gain, right? LOL

Ang:: Hey girl! Glad you stopped in! Nope, haven't ordered Insanity yet and TBH, I had no interest until just recently. It's on my list now though! ;) Sounds like you've had yourself a busy/fun summer! Vegas you say? We were there at the end of March. AWESOME! You will love it! Enjoy! :D Glad to hear you are enjoying CLX. I did one rotation of it so far and plan to go back to it at some point. I loved it too! Good luck with the treadmill purchase! If only I had the room!!!!

Diana:: Yeah, kick is basically a kickbox class. It's fun. Nothing like Cathe's style but fun none-the-less. :) I find that a good cardio work out post weight lifting for the lower half will usually help ease the soreness too.

Jacque:: No worries on the CABS. Be good for a couple of days and it will go away fast! Good job on the 4 mile SS run!

Okay, well I haven't been told to leave yet and I'm getting antsy. If I don't get the heck outta here really soon it won't be worth it as I am driving an hour away! Let me call my friend and see if I can find out what's up!

BBL if I end up not going out or tmrw morning if I do!
