OH my goodness.....just starting the new months thread before Lori gets here. :p She's usually the one that keeps up with that.
 
Hey Ladies. Good Morning! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!:D

This morning was my first work out in my new shoes: adidas Adipure Lace Trainer 1.1 Shoes ! :)

Here's what I did::

1 time thru @ 15r/30w:
Plank hold with med ball roll between hands.
Bicep curl with tubing while laying in bridge position on stability ball.
Weighted punching combo (jab cross hook upper) on one side.
Core stability exercise that has no name. LOL
Squat with calf raise and bicep curl at the top.
Weighted punching combo (jab cross hook upper) on other side.
Alternating side plank with hip dips.
Static hold with weights for biceps.
Weighted punch comb (jab r, jab l, cross r, cross l, hook r, hook l, upper r, upper l)

8 @ 10r/20w:
Plie jump squats with firewalker band around ankles.
Jumping lunges holding med ball.

Now of course to get the most out of this work out I obviously should have repeated the first part of it at least one or two more times but I kept it short on purpose since it was the maiden voyage of my new training shoes! I will do it again the "right" way in the future. It was a good work out! :)

Hi Ladies,

I'm still not feeling well and have absolutely no energy. If I'm feeling better tonight, I'll do Xtrain Bi's & Tri's.

Yesterday afternoon DH, DS & I met with the nutritionist yesterday. Apparently while I was away, the whole family ate out and ate like crap. At any rate, Jerod was up 5lbs from our last appt.

Hi Ladies,

It was a long day yesterday....didn't leave work until after 6pm....went out to dinner and a did a bit of grocery shopping. This cold is still taking all my energy....all stuffed up with a sore throat and ears hurting. Jerod is sick too.

Today I have swim lessons then our Brawler team is getting together to go through our packets and see what we need to have for the scavenger hunt tomorrow. It will be fun time tomorrow. Afterwards my running partner and I are signing up for the Bolder Boulder, a huge 10K on Memorial day.

Wendy-glad to hear you are liking your new shoes. How much support do they provide? One of the girls in my bootcamp had them, but said her feet really hurt when running stairs...any running activity really. Just curious.

Good Morning:)

Long time no chat! It's been hard to check in cause the baby is such a iPad hog! If its out and DH isn't awake, he wants it. He doesn't do anything with it, only tap the icons.

Not a whole lot new around here. The selling date on the house changed to the 21st cause the lawyer was having trouble getting the certificate of title. Haven't heard from the rental much since Tuesday. Tuesday she was all concerned that she wouldn't get her damage deposit back from the new owners.....what do I care?? Whining about stuff that she doesn't even know is going to happen.

I don't know if I told you gals but we have a friend from home staying with us and its up there on our stupid list. He's a good guy, not getting on my nerves but he's up DH's *ss! I feel like I'm the 3rd wheel. DH set him up with this job, he's only 20 couldn't find a place to live but he's only here a couple of weeks and then he's off to the city for training for 6 weeks. So he would have been laying for an apt that he wouldn't have been in for 6 weeks (again, not my problem but I always feel bad for people) So he sit there and waits for DH to get home from work, if he's not home on time , which he's not most days, he's wondering what's taking him so long. DH worked nights all weekend and yesterday he said "I guess I'll sit here and wait for him to wake up":mad: and be doesn't shut up! I tried to catch up and y and r this weekend and he never stopped talking! I like my alone time!

So I'm following a new workout program that was given to me by a friend who helped another gal get ready for a photo shoot. I'm going to give it 6 weeks. It's pretty blah though. The diet is your typical, ck, and egg whites. I started yesterday but I did have a cookie after dinner...but I also ran 18 k which was a lot better then last weeks btw! So today I will do the workout that's assigned to me and follow this new diet. So no Cathe DVDs for 6 weeks! I have to find ways to spruce up these meals though. No salt..no sugar *sigh* I have my supplements and stuff so I'm ready to go!

Diana** sorry to hear you aren't feeling well! And more snow! It's been pretty nice here. I ran in shorts and a tank yesterday. I burned my chest!How come ds2 is getting on your nerves. That's a lot of weight to gain in a few days! Some water retention no doubt. He's an active boy though isn't he?

Wendy** happy birthday!! Not sure if I said it on fb or not. My app doesn't show people bdays on the top page of fb ,like the website does. I'm missing all kinds of bdays!

Laura** sorry to hear things have been crazy! There is a level of craziness I am comfortable with before I start going crazy myself. My job tends to get a little crazy but for the most part I have it under control. I don't think I will be taking anymore no explode. I had a wonderful run yesterday without it.

Today's workout will be whatever my program says, I think it's legs and shoulders. And I'd like to go for another run because its another nice day. I will probably take the baby with me

Hi ladies,

Seriously, I start the new months thread and everyone disappears.:confused: Everyone must be uber busy right now.

Today I did the Broomfield Brawler Scavenger Race. Our team came in 10th out of 20 teams...which isn't too shabby for 3 of us over 40 and the other gal is 57. I did the running legs with totaled about 7.7 miles and my legs are sore...and will probably be worse tomorrow. We had a great time though, it was pretty cold though.

My girlfriend and I signed up for the memorial 10K which I've done a lot. The last time I did was with Amanda in 2008. Only 3 weeks to train...better get busy. At least the temps are supposed to be in the 60's all week which is great running weather for me.

Lori-You put up a lot of houseguests. You're just too nice! Good things will come to you for it though!:D Good luck following the strict training diet, they are usually very bland. Jerod gained the 5lbs over 6 weeks...not just one. As you know he may have weighed less the day before of the day after. Hard to say.

TG, Laura, Wendy, and Jacque....well what have you ladies been up to this weekend?

Just got back from a 7k run. Little shorter then yesterday but I did bics and shoulders this morning. It was a good workout!

Diana** I don't know why I thought he gained 5 lbs in one week. Maybe cause ds's apts were always once a week and I was thinking jerod was on the same schedule! Lol. Speaking of we have a apt tomorrow. Thing with men though is they can lose weight fast too, when they put their mind to it. Sounds like you had a good day yesterday! I'm feeling better about the half marathon after yesterday's run.

I will try and come back tomorrow evening!

Hi Ladies,

My legs....well maybe my whole body is sore from yesterday. I've decided to re-start the May rotation this week since. It should work our great since there are 4 weeks left in this month. Running will become more prominent for me these next few weeks.

I checked the HM website I'm registered for, and it says I can change races. I may switch to the Urban 10 mile instead....it would still be quite challenging, but more manageable for me at this point.

What's everyone else up to???

Morning Ladies ..

sorry been MIA .. I have been UBER BUSY .. on vaca .. and DH and I have been re-doing a house .. ugh .. just a huge PITA!!! I may not have worked out .. but my arms, wrist, fingers, forearms, and BACK are all aching and sore!!! I have worked my @$$ off .. I got paid in food and CABS :eek: :confused: :p we still have so much more to do it is not even funny!

I AM getting some sort of OFFICIAL workout in today tho .. not sure what .. or when .. but I am going to workout ... I have a "Administrative Assistance Luncheon" today .. not sure where we are going .. but I am planning on eating light!

Lori - another houseguest - yes you are TOO NICE!! I cant stand someone who wont shut up .. that is a huge irritant to me .. gggrrrrrrr .... how long is he staying????? I dont see how you do it ??? I am too selfish I suppose!! LOL

Di - congrats on the good time on the brawler race ... way to represent the MORE MATURE crowd!!! woohoo.. I am surprise Jerod gained with all the speed training he is doing

Wendy .. so do you like the shoes??? i dont think I could stand the toe thing .. I am funny about my toes ... I cant even stand to feel my toe nail in my shoes when I exercise .. I have read good things and bad about those type of shoes ... hope they work for you!!! another GREAT workout by Wonder Wendy!!! ;) WTG!!

Saturday I participated in the Training Studio session that I observed last Monday and now tonight I get to play "trainer" and help him run it! :eek:

I had a new work out planned for this morning but DS was up, not feeling well around 2am so I ended up staying up with him for a while. Needless to say, no work out for me. I slept in this morning!

The Adipures seem like they will work out great for me. They offer extremely minimal support. The idea is to mimic training barefoot. The first few times I wore them I had some troubles with one of my toes hurting but the last time I wore them I had no trouble at all. They require getting used to and how long it takes depends on the person. I didn't work out in them until the third time I put them on. It's strongly suggested that you get acclamated to just casually wearing them around the house before you try a work out. As for running in them, Di, I really don't have an answer for that except to say that I think there are styles that are meant for running and styles that are not. Perhaps she has a style that is not....I really don't know otherwise...I was jumping in them on Friday and had no troubles though....Oh and another thought, with the sole on my pair being as thin as it is, I imagine running on pavement, concrete, etc could hurt ANYONE'S feet! I wonder if they just aren't meant for outdoor training...atleast the specific pair your friend has...???

Lori:: So do you plan to enter a figure competition seeing as you are on this diet, etc??

Laura:: So you are re-doing your house with a puppy living in it? :eek: Is that really a good idea?? ;):p

Diana:: Congrats on your placement in the Brawler race! You gals did awesome! The training studio owner does those Spartan races and has one coming up soon I believe. CRAZY! :eek:

Here's what I been up to since Friday:rolleyes: Saturday morning, I went to Forest Hill Park I got in a really good Interval 5 mile run, Sunday, we went to my brothers cook out (fabulous time):D Today I am…….. TIRED, my nephew and his girl, come up from Coshocton to be with me Friday they left this morning. I thought about going for a run after work, but I tell ya, I really don’t think that’s going to happen., I may take Tank for a nice long walk , I shall see any who, see you guys tomorrow:rolleyes:

Just about ready to head in for my work out. I've been awake since 3am. :(:rolleyes: No one's fault but my own. I think maybe I was paranoid about not getting up in time to fit in a good work out so I laid in bed awake until just after 4. :confused:

So I lead the group training session last night almost completely on my own!:D I am still squeamish about correcting form so I let him do that but I explained/demonstrated all of the moves and set up all of the equipment, etc! I did so well that he sat down to do paperwork, went outside to take a phone call, etc! LOL :p I am going back on Wednesday to try my hand at a regular PT session! ;)

K, off to be my own PT now, lol, but I'll be back!:cool:

Good Morning:)

I'm up early to go for a run. I could have slept longer and actually decided not to run this morning but DH woke before I did and woke me up. Now he's a sleep and here I am. Once I am awake I struggle with working out, not working out, working out, not working out......so it's just as well I get up!

Yesterday was a rest day. My legs are so sore from Mondays workout! My squats were ass to the grass squats and they killed me. Those and the front squats with weights held at chest level, which I think also worked my back cause that's pretty sore too. I just do the basic squats...up and down.. The scale was down over two pounds yesterday which brings me back to my comfortable weight. I only gained 4 but if I lose more, I will have to add another tasteless meal into my day!

Diana** that's good that you can change races, most races will let you. I think I was tempted a few times to go from a full Mary to a half:eek:. At least you can give it your all now, sometimes that's not a good thing for me. I'd rather do a half and take my time, then do a 10 k and want to throw up all the time cause that's what I do. To me a 10 k is a race so I run as uncomfortably as I can! Lol

Laura** you've been a busy gal! Your doing renos? And your on vaca? How many weeks do you get a year? We actually thought about going home this year but I don't think I could get the time off and when we have to travel that far, I'd need at least two weeks. I guess our house guest is here for a month, and he's been here 2 weeks already. It hasn't been that bad and he's a good kid....but I hope he finds a spot soon! I'm sure he'd like to have his own spot as well.

Wendy** look at you teaching your own class:eek:. I don't know if I'd be up for that. I've actually thought about giving up the little training I'm doing. It's no big money when it's only a couple of people and just causes havoc in our weekly lives. It's so busy here...plus my own workouts which are top priority!:rolleyes: No figure comp..,yet;), maybe just for you guys! Lol

Morning Ladies ..

I finally got an official workout it . . COMBAT - HiiT - and can tell I have missed some workouts :confused: my back is sore today and even my legs are a bit sore!!! I am getting a bit better on the burpees from H### .. but crap .. I dont think I will ever be able to do all the reps!! Tonight me and SIL are meeting to do CATHE :confused::confused::confused: ummmmmmm i am askeeered ... havent done Cathe ina LOOOOOONG time .. it is gonna kick my arse!!! :confused: expect lots of complaining out of me tmrw .. I think we are gonna try to do cardio legs tonight .. and may try to do JNL shoulder shredder at lunch :confused: :eek: yes glutton for punishment!! :p

Lori -I am taking a couple of days here and there .. not solid week - I get 4 weeks vaca a year tho! :D :cool: JUNE is our fishing month and that is the month I WILL BURN my vaca :cool::cool::cool: .. tonights cathe legs is gonna kill me .. your ass to the grass squats made me flinch in pain .. i could feel that pain!! LOL

Good Afternoon Dahlings. :)

So I forgot to actually turn my alarm ON last night and didn't wake up until after DH was already up and getting dressed. I COULD have rushed to get a work out in but I hadn't even finished preparing one last night so I just nixxed it for today...:rolleyes:

Tonight I am training one on one at the studio with a client of his. The name sounds familiar. I think she's been in some of the group training sessions I've been around for but I am not sure which one she is. Guess it'll be a surprise! :p He emailed me the work out so that I can review it and have time to decipher his wacky exercise abbreviation system! LOL

Last night I finally got back to the gym I interned with. We went over more sales stuff and will meet tmrw night so I can do a practice run (training) on someone. :eek:

Then Saturday, depending on the work out he has scheduled, I'll either be running the group session or participating in it. He runs 2 different work outs every month and there is one I've seen once but never done.

Laura:: Nice job getting a work out in! What's your issue with burpees? Is it your shoulder? They aren't cheap but Indian Clubs are good for doing corrective exercises for shoulders. So are kettlebell halos and holding a kettlebell by it's horns, upside down with your arm bent into the side of your body so that the bell is pointing bottom up to the ceiling by your face. Idea is to keep it steady. Once you can keep it steady then do squats to make it more challenging. Great for shoulder stabalization! The other 2 are very good for mobility/ROM. HTH...not that you asked but I gotta practice here! LOL :p Thanks re FB. I'm not getting paid yet but I will be eventually and I AM actually training a bit now so I decided to throw it on there. :)The company name is my f/t office job. Has nothing to do with PT'ing, btw. Since I'm still considered an intern for the moment, I did not wan to put the name of either facility up there.

Lori:: Sorry you can't find time for PT'ing even part time. You'll never know if doing it full time is possible with out starting part time. I'd hate to see you let the cert go to waste like I did the first time around. :(
 
Burpess .. LOL ..

Wendy - nope - my issue w/burpees is .. they kick my arse .. take my breath away!! :p it is the * get down * push up * jump in * jump up * that kills me (makes me breathless) .. my "air" gives out before the muscles do .. the shoulder does pretty good on them .. GREAT ADVICE THO .. thanks .. I will try that .. my shoulder acts up when I go heavy on the pushups .. and train hard like STS or P90X .. that has a ZILLION pushups in a ZILLION different positions ... I will try that next time it acts up tho!! thanks!!

NOPE my problem is simply I need to do MORE burpees MORE often as to improve my tolerance for them ... b/c they kick my @$$!!! :eek: now if I dont do the pushup or full body drop down I can do all the reps no prblm .. but when I do the full drop down push up jump in jump up .. my breath gives out .. OLD AGE/ouit of shape i suppose .. *humph*
 
Hi Ladies,

I've been sick and in bed the last couple days. I finally got up and did GS Legs this morning and think a cardio may be doable tomorrow. If not, then it will be the next GS UB workout.

I've missed 3 of my tri training sessions due to being sick. Hopefully I'm on the mend though. Until the triathlon in June my cardio should really be running. I'm doing a memorial day 10K but the June tri run is only 2 miles. The run for the tri in August is only a 5k....all seems doable. The scary one is the HM I'm supposed to do on the 19th of this month...that is just not doable right now. I hope to switch to the 10 mile which will still be tough since I haven't done any training for it.

Laura-Burpees are butt kickers for sure! Combat...hmmm...I should probably get back to that at some point since my knee is feeling much better...as long as I keep up with the foam rolling that is!

Wendy-Nice job teaching the class on your own!! And you always said you were too shy, not so my dear PT Wendy!! Wow, you are super busy between your FT job and the 2 gyms you are working at. You GO Girl! I'm tired just reading about it.:p

Lori-You are a much more competetive runner than I. I can tell you love your new bland diet. Chicken and Egg Whites are a mainstay in most Bodybuilding diets.

Good Morning! :)

So I did it! I managed to get through my first one on one training session w/o throwing up or completely bombing!:p The girl I trained was more of a beginner so that made me feel better. He emailed me the work out earlier in the day so I would have a chance to look at it and then when I got there he gave me their copy of the work out and off I went. If I had any questions, I just asked and he popped over to check on us and give pointers as we went along. I'd say it was a successful evening! YAY! :D

I never got around to writing a work out for myself for this morning so I took the work out that his client did with me last night and modified it to suit my time constraints, my abilties and my equipment. It worked out quite well. :)

Here's what I did::

2x through of the following circuit @ 10 reps per set-
1 arm tube chest press (standing)
kneeling SB ball roll out
other arm tube chest press
deadlift with kettlebell

3x through of the following circuit @ 10 reps per set-
decline push ups off the bosu
modified pull ups
one 25-30 sec weighted stability ball bridge
single DB in 2 hands squat

8 @ 10r/20w:
skaters and bear crawls
then another round with-
skaters and ball slams
