Damage Control March!!!

Hi all,

We had a great visit with DS2 yesterday. Going on Mexico was rather harrowing at times-he met someone who was later killed there-yikes. He said the resort was not "nice" to the guests unless you gave them good tips for the all inclusive amenities. He said the taxi drivers were rude. The safe and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. He did like the weather and going to the beach. He has no desire to go back ever at this point. On the plus side, he kept track of his passport and didn't lose anything. He also found 4 50's on the ground and treated his group one night. Next time we see him we'll be picking him up for DS1's graduation!!

Before we left yesterday I got in Legs and Glutes and 100 squat challenge (just did my own since I did the hip thrust last time. Today I'm doing LIHI CST and 100 of something-maybe pushups. Ten at a time....

LL, glad BC is going well!

Diana, you had a shovel max day for sue with almost 2 feet of snow! Another great memory!

Hi Tina!

Hi Ladies,

The girls went home with their dad last night so I got to workout this morning!!! I finally finished up Meso 1 with disc 12-legs and BR Day 1. I'm starting the bodyrock rotation again. I can do the cardio on these circuits but I will mix in some other cardio sessions here and there. I'm starting Meso 2 tomorrow since I've basically had a week off from lifting already.

Beth-Wow, what part of Mexico did DS go to? It doesn't sound like he stayed at a reputable resort. Nice job with another 100 rep challenge!!!

LL-I'm in Colorado. Our airport was closed for 8 hours due to zero visibility. No planes could land or take off. It's snowing again right now-UGH. Enjoy your bootcamp classes!

Hi Tina!

Hi ladies,

Did Hardcore Hi/Lo Intervals today with 100 rep hammer curls. Tomorrow is Legs-I'm thinking Pure Strength since I'm trying to vary the workouts. My basic rotation is: cardio/100 upper, heavy legs/100 legs, Upper Body/100 upper, cardio/100 upper, endurance legs/100 legs, Upper body/100 upper, then rest. What do you think? Yesterday I did LIHI CST and had to pause a lot-especially during the finishers. So it took me longer than it should have, but I tried to lift pretty heavy and safely to protect my shoulders.

Eating wise, I blew it today at Easter dinner. I made cake-first one in a long time! I remember now why I don't make it-I could literally eat the whole thing. I love icing and a nice, moist, dense cake. I did try to drink a lot of water. Oh well, I left half with my parents so there's not too much left.

Diana, hope the snow lets up! Yay for finishing Meso 1!

Hi Ladies,

Happy Easter

Yesterday we celebrated Easter with the girls. We had a wonderful dinner and Easter egg hunt at my dear MIL's. I bought them just a bit of candy, 1 outfit and a swimsuit. I also ate way too much, and peanut butter brownies for dessert. Not too bad, but when we got home I stuffed my face with Easter candy...not that I was even hungry. I asked DH to get rid of the candy and it is gone today. I'm sure he hid it which is a good thing for me.

My little girlies went home today. They will be back in the summer sometime, probably mid July through mid August. They bring so much happiness to our family.

Today I did Disc 13-CST and BR Day 2...and felt thoroughly worked out! My legs and glutes are sore today! I expect to see a lot of improvement in the mid section after this week. I went grocery shopping and prepared 3 days of food.

Well it sounds like I'm heading back to the UK. Not sure of the dates yet, but guessing 2 weeks in mid April. I'll be going by myself this time. As long as I go back to the same place, I'll be fine.

Beth-Is that on the Hardcore Extreme DVD? Those are all tough w/o's IMO! Great Job!! I think your rotation sounds great. Well I struggle with some of those finishers myself! I'm on the water wagon this week along with veggies and protein. I need to get this weight off pronto.

Hello LL & Tina.

bbl

Today I pulled out Body Beast-Build Legs followed by 300 walking lunges (instead of the 100 challenge). All in all about 45 minutes. I bought weights for BB so figured I better start getting them back in the mix. It was a great pyramid workout!

Diana, I'm with you on the water today. I'm thinking about doing shakeology for breakfasts. It costs $4/day. I don't know. I want to get away from cereal everyday though and don't have time to cook much on work days. Maybe I'll just do it days I work. Plus if I use 1/2 a scoop I could make it last 60 days. $2/day sounds better!

Don't forget to pack rain gear for England! Did anyone else see the English national team beat the German team in the friendly on Sat.? It was awesome!!

BBL to see what everyone is up to!

Beth

At Messiah College today for the homeschool volleyball tournament. Tamales are not doing great, won 1 out of 5. Last one is about to start. Lots of teammate changes in the last few weeks.

Not sure if I'll get a workout in today.

Beth, I've tried shakeology and hated it! I use Now Sports. But I like Terra's Whey as well.

Hi Ladies,

Well the weight is coming off nicely! :) 1 pound to go. I'm sure it was due to carbs I don't normally eat as well as the Easter ham. Both of those cause me to retain water. I'm sure increasing the water, 2 a day w/o's and cutting the crap are all helping.

Yesterday was an unplanned rest day. I had a dentist appt and all day meetings. Today I did BR Day 4 in the morning and STS Disc 15-Back & Biceps at lunch. Tomorrow will be my extra leg day and I plan on doing CLB from Xtrain. This is counting as my cardio since. I have another dentist appt tomorrow for a filling...gggrrr.

The tentative dates for my UK trip are May 3rd-25th. I'll probably travel on Sat or Sun, Monday is a bank holiday for them. I'll be traveling alone so it won't be quite as much fun. The plan is the first 2 weeks will be in Cheltenham and the 3rd week will be in Fareham. The dates have been submitted to all the managers for approval.

LL-Sorry to hear the volleyball team isn't doing great. Pheoey. Do you order your Now Sports online, or do you have a local store that carries it?

Hi Beth and Tina!

Good morning, I hope you're all doing well! March birthday bonanza month is almost over. Last night we had our final family dinner/cake/presents get together. There are six family members born in this month and my niece is on April 1st. This week has been Amy Bento for cardio and STS for weights. DS and I are still doing one body part a day and this week we're doing GS. He's really upping his weights and is matching mine weight now. :) We managed a bike ride on Sunday before Easter dinner. Today is gorgeous out, so we'll do a night ride after work tonight. Snow is in the forecast this weekend, so I think cycling will be out after today. Meso 2 is a needed change up. I'll finish M2W1 tomorrow. I did try some of Amy's Advanced Step Challenge #5 this week and I think there is just too many spin moves for me to master.

Diana, another trip in you're future sounds like fun. It must be nice to get away! :) Your GD's are very lucky to have such a wonderful family. This summer is coming fast!

Beth, I like the sounds of your rotation. Shakeology is all over my FB pages lately. Let us know how it works out for you. I just finished The Horse Boy for our book group and loved it! A true story about a family trying to cure their son's Autism through traveling through the mountains of Mongolia and Siberia to find a famous shaman. There's a documentary that goes along with it. I'm hoping we can watch it at our next book group.

LL, how is BC going? Are you still enjoying it?

BBL to check in on everyone. :)

Diana! So excited for you! What's your total weight loss and inches lost in how long? I would love to hear a typical food intake day and then some shares of "cheats"! Yesterday was an unplanned rest day for me too. I get my protein powder from a local store but they do ship and they have sales often.

I'm feeling very unmotivated today and last night, all the weight I lost when I got the stomach bug has come back on. Last time I was on the scale I was 179 and I'm afraid to get on again. It was my weigh in at Boot Camp. I went clothing shopping with my mom yesterday and while I was able to find a couple of outfits, I'm practically depressed at the sight in the mirror! My workouts have been ok up until this week. I've only don't one wo this week, Tuesday I did LIS athletic training leg cardio express premix. Yesterday I couldn't get to boot camp and by the time I was finished with my "day", it was 10 and I was not interested in working out. So I graded some math and grabbed some chocolate chips and went up to research online writing classes for next year for the older boys and then looked at protein shake reviews. I should have just gone to bed at 10:30 but I stayed up until 12:30! Now I'm still lounging in bed, where I should be in the basement doing one of my wo options that I put into workout manager for yesterday. I plan on going to boot camp this evening but I feel like maybe I need to be doing more. And we are trying not to have me quit it. We got a big unexpected tax bill of several thousand dollars and so we had to cut back on a lot. We had done the budget and had some money saved for new rugs and some carpet repair. That needs to go on hold. At least we had already paid off our medical debt so, at least that is done!

I feel like I'm losing some of my arm definition not doing Cathe workouts as much. And I think maybe I should be doing more workouts? The challenge starts April 18 for 6 weeks. I think I'm looking forward to it?

Alright, so I bit the bullet and stepped on the scale since I figured you all would encourage me to do so anyway!

I have gotten the food plan for the challenge. So it's not what I expected but I think I'm going to like the format. It isn't 6 weeks of meal all laid out. It's a list of foods broken down into categories: protein, veg, fruit, good fats, starches, dairy and whole grain. And it tells you how many serving of each to have a da and how much a serving is. There are other "rules": detox optional 5-7 days, exercise 3-5/week, no alcohol, 8 c water daily, supplementation according to plan and diet journaling. These plans are sponsored by TLS and it's a protein and other supplements, so that makes me go "ugh". That plan is for sure and steady weight loss of 1-2 per week. The rapid loss is 2-3 per week and it is basically the same but it cuts out starches and adds TLS nutritional shake 1-2 time.

https://www.tlsslim.com/product-6585/market-america-817145385/tls-reg-nutrition-shakes.htm

But it is a MLM deal so those always make me wary, in the review I read that it was very expensive and not much results.

Tina, how do you have time for all those workouts! I guess if I spent less time on my iPad....

Hi Beth!

Better stop lounging and get breakfast going for the boys!
